What: The carnival enjoys a few days in Wismuth, a coastal city on this planet's version of the American east. However, there are a few things very unique about this version of the planet...

Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly.

► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation.

► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better.

► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week.

► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds.

Julien sees Anghel coming back. "Uh oh-"

He closes his inner eyelids in time to protect himself from the splash. It beads and runs off his feathers, which are at least a little waterproofed; too much exposure still soaks them, but he shouldn't be more than slightly damp after this.

The admirers are not so lucky. Not waterproofed, not aware this was coming, wearing clothing, and between Anghel and Julien anyway, they take the worst of it. There is a chorus of shrieks and outraged bellows, and holding out arms in the I've-got-wet posture, and just like that, Julien is not the center of attention.

He pulls free as gently as he can and raises his folded wings, his tail shaking in noiseless bird laughter. "Run!" he says, and starts clicking away.

Anghel doesn't nee to be told twice. Still holding the bucket, he swiftly follows the other bird before his opponents regain their senses and turn their sights on him.

"Knight of the Silver Skies! You are unharmed from your ordeal? Those who are addled by the Demon Spores can be alarming..."

"I'm fine. Drunk people keep cornering me and it's not really fun, but, like, they don't mean any harm." Julien is far too nice. "Anywhere I go with this body, I'm likely to have some people who want to pet me. I'm used to it!"

Admittedly, at home he was very famous. A lot of people were also slightly afraid of him and he didn't spend much time around intoxicated strangers. It had been much more common for, say, someone to suddenly touch him in the middle of conversing with him. He doesn't much like that, either. "So, drugs are demonic in your cosmology?"

Anghel nods. These ones won't bring about the End of All Things, but they are still bad. "The Chaos they bring is not to be underestimated! You must prepare! Here."

He holds out the bucket for Julien to take.

"Oh, like how coffee beans are kinda suspect?" He remembers Anghel's zeal about the coffee. Oh dear. Julien's pretty willing to try different things, including a few fae drugs he picked up on the moon. Probably better not to mention that.

He leans down and takes the handle in his beak, his wings being very poorly suited for basically any kind of manipulation at all. His voice is produced and modulated down in his chest, and this doesn't affect his diction at all. "Uh, okay. What do you want me to do?"

"You must purify those affected by the demon spores with holy water! That way, they shall not be able to bring harm to others."

He gestures for Julien to follow and looks for a hose or a restroom they can use the fill the bucket up. It's the only weapon the two of them have.

"Ahhh. I regret that I no longer have the ability to bless water to any effect," he says gravely. Just now he can't recall if holy water, in the sense of water with special, angelic-power-related properties, was actually a thing in Portland, but he also now has no idea how to sanctify it. "You may have to do that for me. But it can't be too cold, all right? It's too unpleasant to have icy water on bare skin, I would spare them that."

He's speaking a bit more formally, since Anghel seems like the sort to appreciate that.

Anghel frowns. He hadn't considered that the Julien would be unable to find the water, but if it is necessary than he shall retrieve it instead. Anghel takes the bucket back and runs off with a quick, "I shall return!"

He finds some more water and rushes back. Some spills over the side as he runs, but the bucket is mostly full when he hands it back to Julien. "Use this wisely, Knight of the Silver Skies."

Julien stays put, kind of puzzled, and watches people start to close in. Anghel's back pretty quickly though. So, just finding water makes it holy in the little fruit dove's eyes. Got it. He is really confused about cosmology now, though.

"Very well," he says, and takes the handle in his beak again. It's much heavier when full, but his neck is up to it. "And this washes away these Demon Spores?"

Anghel nods. "It will help those afflicted fend off the taint and give you time to safely retreat."

This battle is one better of being fought another day, for Anghel suspects the Purveyor would not wish for them to take more aggressive actions at the moment. He glances around to make sure none of the Knight's assailants have discovered them yet. "Just in case, it might be best to find sanctuary available only to those Chosen by the Purveyor."

"Hmm. Well, it certainly draws their attention!"

People are looking at Julien, but that's pretty common really. When he's on the move like this he seems less inviting; it more emphasizes his size and weight, very saurian. "Ah, well, I can fly! I just like people watching, and sometimes when they watch back, that happens."

He's been surrounded a few times already on this stop. It's probably going to happen again.
