What: The carnival enjoys a few days in Wismuth, a coastal city on this planet's version of the American east. However, there are a few things very unique about this version of the planet...
Warnings: The usual, wholesome fun.

PILLAR OF CREATION↴ Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds.

He grins, the expression softening into a fond smile as he slides his finger sideways, bringing up another video. He doesn't hit play. "Katsuki Yuri. Japan's top male figure skater. I've been coaching him this season, and was about to be competing directly against him too, if all went well."

He expects it will. He has every confidence in Yuri, and enough in himself to spare, as long as he's in competitive shape. It's what he worries about for being here a year. He won't have time to get back into shape before he'll be competing again at the far side of his time here. He doesn't mention engagements or dating; the warmth of the gold ring on his right hand carries a multitude of meanings and emotions. He'd been looking forward to talking with Yuri to figure things out more concretely, but... he's here for the time being, and Yuri is not. "He'd just won silver at the Grand Prix Final, which is one of the three most prestigious international competitions in a figure skating season, and was about to be skating in the Japan Seniors Championship. He'll get gold there, no doubt about it."

Figure skater coach, huh. They sure did bring in just about anyone to this carnival. Jinx wasn't really the type to read too much into his words, and she also didn't notice the ring on his hand right away. She just wasn't all that perceptive and bright to begin with.

"Digging the confidence there. If he won silver then you two must've been doing something right, at least."

It... almost sounded like a compliment.

She was even nicer than Yuri Plisetsky, so the almost sounding like a compliment comment
sounded... very much like one, considering some of the people he has in his life. He smiled either way, nodding his head. "Equal credit due to Yuri as much as myself. What was it you did before you ended up here?"

He tapped his phone off, sparing Jinx from a series of videos from their practices for the time being.

"High school. So you know, nothing nearly as fancy." At least she'd get the chance to express her artistic side ever so often. In the form of drawing all sorts of graffiti on her desk.

Even though she wasn't really allowed to.


"My best friend and I just sort of lived with a couple of others and all went to school together. And a camping trip. That one happened recently. It was alright."

The camping trip catches his attention for no good reason: maybe the mental image being one he has trouble conjuring past what movies and television have indicated. Skating camps weren't anything similar, and the weather wasn't supportive of casual camping most the year back home.

"Sounds like fun, living with a group of friends. Or at least your best friend. Was the camping something you all wanted to do on your own, or was it school related? I've heard some schools organise trips like that, but don't know firsthand." What he doesn't do is question teenagers living on their own--to him, that's entirely feasible, depending on life circumstances or necessities--though he doesn't know what hers might be. Regardless, now she's here, keeping good company with many more teenagers and even kids who are in the same situation.

Life gets strange.

"Lux said it was so that we could all bond or whatever as our last group activity before summer ended." They lived together, but it wasn't as though their team dynamic was flawless. Actually it was exactly the opposite.

"I got to cannonball into a lake, so that was pretty neat." A definite camping trip highly.

"The rest of the trip was alright too. I guess." But she sounded less excited about that part.
