PILLAR OF CREATION↴![]() Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds. |

[Rolls and turns on the bed so he's on his front and it's easier to carry on a conversation.]
Roomed with siblings all my life until boarding school! And then it was childhood friends from there. Not sure how that compares ta rooming with somebody new!
i'm so sorry shima
He can't remember his preferences from back then, but early mornings meant early days on the ice, so he suspects he rather liked them. )
Mm, not quite the same, I'd imagine. ( He wouldn't know for sure to be fair. ) But having lived with a handful of strangers over the years, I've found it helps to be up front with expectations and lines we'd prefer not to have crossed. So! ( He rolls a wrist, fanning his fingers and smiling without any teeth. ) How clean do you keep things? Are you planning on doing much cooking? How much personal space or alone time do you need for yourself? What are your feelings on shared chores?
( There's a flicker of amusement in his eyes; Victor is laughing more at himself than anyone else, but he's being up front because he absolutely has his own answers to these things. And he is not, as he knows, the best at cooperating... so it's good to be direct to see what kinds of answers he might get. )

Uuuh, clean enough, I'm planning ta just eat at the cookhouse, I've longed for personal space all my life, and chores in general are kind of a pain...
no subject
Okay. Well, half of all the available space here is yours, so claim what you'd like and what you need. I've really only been using that lower cabinet near the door.
( All of his Things are a world away or fit in one backpack. It's very easy not to be fussed because he has very little to put anywhere, so he's... not going to pretend otherwise. )
Anything I make is fair game for eating if you want to join me when I'm cooking. No idea how often I'll make the attempt, but it's a standing offer. I don't care if you drink, though if you smoke, I'm asking that you please do so outside. As long as you clean up your own trash and clean up after yourself in the bathroom, I'll do the same. Past that, I'd like to ask that your things not sprawl across the common area for days on end since it's a narrow fit in here, and that you wash your clothes and sheets before they start to smell. I'm aiming for the same. If we had closing, separate rooms, it wouldn't really matter, but we don't. ( He sighs, lifting his shoulders in a small shrug. What can they do? ) We can alternate hauling trash bins off to wherever they need to go here when full. Sweeping or whatever else too.
( All the chores have been listed with a considering tone of voice; he looks back to Shima with his eyebrows quirked up at the end. Both his following questions are genuine and conversational sounding, because for all intents and purposes while he recognises Shima as a teenager, he's addressing him as a fellow adult. )
Does that sound reasonable to you? I'm happy to hear suggestions and anything you feel's important to figure out ahead of time.

We've got curtains..!
[He tugs the little dividing curtain loose of it's holder where it was tucked away, more visible from inside the bunk than outside, and pulls it across the opening of the bed... then sticks his head out from under it.]
Well, not the same as a door I guess. I can't really think of anything--aah, unless you're picky about posters?
no subject
Not the same as a door, but still better than nothing! Means with that shut I won't worry about a light waking you up. Right? ( Plus a degree of privacy, which is nice all around. He drops his fingers away from where they were resting on his chin to give a brief shake of his head, brow momentarily furrowed. )
About posters? No, not really! Put up whatever posters you feel like.
( He's curious and impressed Shima already has posters, unless it's a future thought. Either way, what's the worst that could get hung up for everyone to see? )

[Oh there will be whining and complaining soon enough... but for now it's important to get along! Because if Victor says yes he will go out immediately to find a glowy Wismuth swimsuit magazine to stick all over the trailer. He wasn't allowed to have those up at home or in the dorms, ok.]
no subject
Sure, if that's what makes you happy.
( he'll be curious to see what kind of swimsuit stuff they end up with, but he can guess. )

[HE CAN GUESS]
no subject
Try not to make me regret saying yes too much, okay?
( HE CAN VERY MUCH GUESS the only guess he doesn't make is preferences, but he figures he's learning soon enough. )
