What: The carnival enjoys a few days in Wismuth, a coastal city on this planet's version of the American east. However, there are a few things very unique about this version of the planet...

Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly.

► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation.

► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better.

► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week.

► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds.

That felt... familiar. And it was familiar in a way that made Taako stop short on his walk along the water's edge, faltering mid-step, his breathing catching in his throat. What the hell was that...?

Idly, a hand goes to press at his chest; he picks his gaze up from the waves to look out over the sand, to try and figure out what on earth that even was. The only person nearby is... a kid. A kid that he doesn't know, actually, meaning they're either a newcomer to the carnival, or a Wismuth native, and he's pretty sure he remembers hearing that there aren't any magic-users in Wismuth. And what this kid did, if that's, indeed, what he just felt, was most definitely magic.

He tries to approach the kid casually, violet freckles glowing faintly in the gathering darkness.]

Hey, uh, hail and well met and all that, uh... what's up? I mean, are you out here by yourself, kid?

[For all intents and purposes, Frisk doesn't particularly look like they're working any magic. The drawings in the sand are just random scribbles. One might look like a flower with a smile, but they're not exactly an artist so what it really is may be up in the air.

But when Taako approaches, they look up and smile.]

Yeah, but I think I know where everything is so it's okay. And I've never been to the beach before.

[Taako's a wizard, my man, he knows magic can be worked all kinds of ways. Not that he recognizes anything Frisk is doing as inherently magical anyway, but... well, they're the only other person here. Unless something about this place just caused that-- which is, now that he thinks about it, entirely possible, given just how wild the magic situation here is. He's been acutely aware of just how much more easily magic flows here, even if he isn't sure why; his spells have barely required any real focus to cast, and left him with significantly more energy left over than usual. It's been honestly very tempting to just use magic for fucking everything, and he does use it for most things, but...

Well, he doesn't need any magic to shred those motherfucking waves.

He returns that smile, though a little bit uneasily.]

Fair enough. Hey, what are you up to out here, anyway?

[Never let it go unsaid that Frisk can't pick up cues from people. An uneasy smile is an uneasy smile.

I'm trying something. To...to um, see if it works here.

[It was feeling weird when Frisk first got here so they wanted to make sure it still worked okay.]

Oh, yeah?

[... now that's interesting. Taako has no idea what just happened, but he's dealt with time-space fuckery for long enough that he knows what it feels like. So what, exactly, is this kid testing out here?]

Uh... hey, weird question, did you just... feel something super weird out here?

Um...super weird how?

[Yeah, it's likely Frisk's making it obvious that they do know, but they want to make sure that this person is talking about the same thing they are.

There were very few people who outright noticed their SAVES and LOADS.]

[Yeeeah, he kinda gets that this kid knows exactly what he's talking about, but... he'll play along, for now.]

Well... it was kind of like... mmm. [He doesn't really know how to explain it; he seriously doubts anybody else has been through anything like what he has, and putting it into words is always... weird. Not that he's ever really had to before.] It's like deja vu, I guess.

[Okay yeah. Right on the nose.]

Yeah...that's me. Sorry if it's weird.

[Okay, at least Taako now knows he's not just, like... going crazy, or having flashbacks to something over a decade ago. His posture relaxes a little bit at that, tension he didn't even realize he was holding ebbing out of his shoulders-- though he does seem a bit more, uh, worried that a kid like this is able to do something like that.]

Well, yeah, it's weird for sure, but I can summon huge tentacles out of nowhere, so, like, I'm nobody to judge. [He smiles weakly, tilting his head.] Uh, what exactly is it that you did, though?

[Frisk is tempted to make a joke but this is slightly more serious. So they don't.]

I, um...I don't know a lot about it. But I can do things with time.

[Determination is the best way they can explain it but then they'd have to keep going and Frisk doesn't know a lot of big words needed to explain this whole thing.]

Time, huh? That's some pretty heavy stuff, kid. Where did you pick it up?

[Taako sits down in the sand; he's a fair distance away, not close enough to be misinterpreted as some kind of creep, but he definitely does want to hear more about this.]

Um, I'm not sure.

[It sounds like a handwave, but they're being genuine. Frisk has no idea how they got this power. It just...happened. They know they're not the only one who had it, however.]

Uh... huh. Okay. [It's not that Taako doubts they're telling him the truth, or that he even really cares; it's more that it's baffling to him that you could acquire such a power and not even realize it at the time. This is the kind of thing gods or whatever usually impart on people as part of some kind of deal or blessing, or something that you go out of your way to learn through dedicated study, in his case-- it's not like the kid just tripped and fell into it, right?]

How did you-- I mean, I assume there pretty much had to be a time where you, like, accidentally skipped a day or something, right?
