Where: Wismuth and the Carnival Grounds
What: The carnival enjoys a few days in Wismuth, a coastal city on this planet's version of the American east. However, there are a few things very unique about this version of the planet...

PILLAR OF CREATION↴ Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds.

"Well, I hope you appreciate me introducing you to it, then."

She makes a startled squeaking noise when he starts pulling her, but it turns into a laugh pretty quickly. "--Hey, c'mon, man, I can move on my own!"

"Not very well," he teases, though he lets up on the pulling a little. "If you get knocked down again, we'll never get over there."

At least not while the sun is still up.

[pullingamiko]

Miko blows a raspberry at him, but does an alright job of keeping up - better, unsurprisingly, once they're out of the surf. "I'll adapt! Y'know, the longer I'm out there, the better I get at not getting completely wrecked."

[puddingemote]

"Ah." He nods. "Improvement. Good job."

He's very proud of you, Miko. But now that they're out of the surf, he lets go of her completely.

"Have you been to the beach before?"

[pullingamiko]

"Yeah, I just gotta adapt!"

She keeps in step with him easily enough once he lets go, now that she's not almost getting swept away every few seconds, and answers his question with a nod. "Yep! We couldn't go a lot, 'cuz my parents were busy and all that, but we had a couple vacations there. What about you?"

[puddingemote]

"One time. We filmed a music video in Okinawa... an island in Japan. So we got to have a vacation on the beach."

It was fun, even if what happened immediately before and after it was not so fun. Tamaki doesn't really like thinking of that time, but he does like thinking of the fun memories they had on the beach.

"We played volleyball and played in the waves. It was fun."

"I know where Okinawa is, dude." Her ears give an enthusiastic upward flip, though. "Sounds like it was! Man, how much do you get sent around on trips for the whole music thing?"

[puddingemote]

Oh, she does. Tamaki's own tenuous grasp of geography means he thinks everyone else is bad at it, too.

"A lot. Especially on tour. But sometimes we fly out to be on radio shows and TV shows too."

[pullingamiko]

In fairness, saying she knows where it is is probably sort of an exaggeration. She knows it's an island, she knows it's in Japan, and she knows there are beaches. That's about it.

"TV shows? Jeez, you guys really are famous, huh."

[puddingemote]

Tamaki tends not to think about himself as famous, but he does get recognized when he's out and about so, yes, he supposes that's right.

"I guess so. We had to work hard to get there, though."

It hasn't been an easy road.

[pullingamiko]

"Yeah? I'd figured you were more the type to just kinda trip into being famous." Take that as you will, Tamaki. "That's pretty cool, though! People say stuff you worked for is more worth it, or whatever."

[puddingemote]

He might have tripped into being an idol, but being famous is a completely different story.

"Yeah. You have to practice a lot, and put yourself out there. And go to lots and lots of recordings. But we're all proud of it."

[pullingamiko]

"I mean, good. If you weren't proud of being a famous idol, I'd be wondering what was wrong with you." She leans over to elbow him gently, or at least as gently as Miko ever does anything.

[puddingemote]

He grins in response, jerking away from her elbow as though it hurt (which it didn't).

"Well, it's not as cool as fighting with a big robot."

[pullingamiko]

"Nothing's that cool," Miko replies. The picture of humility, as always. "But being famous is still cooler than most people get to be."

[puddingemote]

Tamaki just grins and shrugs, almost bashful suddenly. Luckily, they're at the shack now, and Tamaki bounds up to it.

"You want a boogie board?" He'd like to try surfing sometime, but he's not sure these waves are big enough.

[pullingamiko]

"Yeah!" Probably better than just flinging herself into the ocean and getting thrown underwater over and over. "How far out d'you think we can get in the water?"

[puddingemote]

He gives the man at the stand some money and hands her a board before looking back at the waves.

"Hmmm... probably pretty far out..."

Don't listen to Tamaki, Miko, it's a terrible idea.
