PILLAR OF CREATION↴![]() Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds. |

Which is generally the goal when it comes to dealing with machines.
"There's a lot of energy stored in them, too. Makes them easy to overload and blow up."

He is pretty sure robots are typically all metal. metal lasts longer, and has... whatever it is that makes computers and stuff work. "What about you? Are you all metal or do you have something organic too?"
no subject
As for himself... "I'm metal and a good dose of silicon. If you want to know the specifics, you're out of luck. My blueprints are on the Bunker back home."

The machine conversation is only getting more confusing as Yuya tries to make actual sense of it, and not just relate it to some sci-fi movie, and he ultimately decides he's not going to figure it out anyway. And he definitely wouldn't be ableto grasp 9S's blueprints, but he can understand at least one part of it.
"That's your skin, right?" He pulls against his own cheeks for emphasis. At least, it seems like the part mostly likely to be silicon? So that it'd be soft, but... well, he hasn't actually touched 9S to see. Maybe he's not soft at all.

If Yuya had seen 9S at all after the whole deal with the Prince, he would've seen that his legs and -- if he had his gloves off, which is rare -- hands were burned, metal frame exposed to the outside air.
"Rita was able to make a pretty close copy of it while we were on break. See?"
He sticks out a leg, his shorts and socks leaving his knee exposed. There's no sign of the burns, the places where there had been exposed metal are now covered in synthetic skin. Where Rita's copy and his normal synthetic skin meet is impossible to differentiate; his nanomachines fully integrated the two.
"I bet you can't tell the difference."

When he looks closely, he can see that the skin looks too clean to be human... it's very lifelike, but something still not quite porous enough to be actual flesh. But if there's supposed to be any seams or tone differences, Yuya can't see them. He shakes his head. "Rita fixed it? It's really good! I can't see where it was messed up."
She really is some sort of prodigy, isn't she? Yuya's not sensitive about his intelligence, so he can just be awed that synthetics and machinery are apparently another specialty of hers, like magic and spirits.

9S lowers his leg.
"Anyway, I guess I should pay for our game, huh?" Sigh. 9S fishes in his pockets for the money the Ringmaster gave him. "What other games do you think would be fun?"
no subject
"Maybe that one?" He points an aisle down, looking at 9S over his shoulder until he follows. It's some co-op dungeon crawler with a joystick and some buttons for each player, a little more expensive than the other games due to being longer and more complex.
"Here, we can split the cost!" He digs out a couple coins, holding them up between his fingers and waving them in the air.
