What: The carnival enjoys a few days in Wismuth, a coastal city on this planet's version of the American east. However, there are a few things very unique about this version of the planet...

PILLAR OF CREATION↴ Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds.

Well now he just can't stop from letting out a quiet snort of laughter, ducking his head slightly. He's not even gonna say anything, just watch Joker with the most delightedly shit-eating grin. He's not even bothering to cover it up anymore.

Considering the precarious situation happening inbetween his teeth, Joker can't exactly complain. That isn't stopping him from trying. With a nice fried veggie in his face, he makes a muffled whine before slowly trying to chew it inwards. He's going to have chipmunk cheeks by the end, but he'll be managing.

"Ginko," he says after he's finally swallowed the last of it down, "has anyone told ya yer a sadist? Just curious."

Ginko leans over to grab a vegetable for himself while Joker does that, then grins at Joker. "No, actually, that's a new one. I'll add it to the list."

To balance out the sass, maybe: "Looks like you're figuring those things out, though."

"Glad ta have enriched yer life." Huffing a laugh underneath his breath, he leans a little closer to look over things. "It was good, but I think I was supposed ta dip it.... Problem with that is that I'm scared I'll drop it right inta that sauce if I do."

"Oh, I can help with that." Since he's still got that piece of vegetable in his chopsticks, he leans over to dip it in the sauce.

Of course, now he needs to get it to Joker's mouth, which... he could do by taking the direct approach, but frankly he doesn't think he could survive actually literally feeding Joker.

So instead, after a moment of uncertain hovering, he just... pulls over one of the small dishes set on the table with their food, sets the newly sauce-covered piece of tempura on it, and pushes it over. "There you go."

With the way Ginko goes about it.... the first immediate solution is very very obvious, especially with how he pauses with a wet fried vegetable just sitting there in his hand. Joker pauses, stuck between laughter and something else, and isn't entirely sure if he's disappointed when Ginko just puts it onto his place.

...Well. It wouldn't be right if he didn't say anything. And he needs to get back at Ginko besides. So after carefully grabbing it with his chopsticks, he picks it up and grins over at the other man. "No feedin' me this time?"

And he pops the vegetable into his mouth.

It was probably too much to hope that Joker wouldn't have that same thought - and feel the need to comment on it. But Ginko is determined not to make a fool of himself and probably give Joker more ammunition for teasing him later, okay. Which means there's only one possible answer.

"What, do you want me to?"

Yep, he regrets everything.

Is this Ginko? Is this Ginko teasing him right back? On one hand, Joker is kind of delighted, because he takes a special pleasure in getting Ginko of all people to banter with him like this, which is probably proven by the absurdly pleased grin on his face. On the other hand.... This is exactly what he shouldn't be encouraging, or letting Ginko realize his own emotions.

Well, gay chicken it is.

So with the chopsticks still in his hand, he leans forward with his chin against his knuckles. "Well, when ya put it that way," he drawls, fluttering his eyelashes in the usual melodramatic fashion.

"Is that a yes?" It sounds like a yes, which is pretty great, and the fact that it is scares him a little. This was not supposed to happen.

But if he backed out now, wouldn't it be too obvious that something was wrong? "Open up, then. What do you want?" He gestures over the spread of food in front of them.

Somehow, this has spiraled wildly out of control, and Joker isn't entirely sure he can pinpoint the place where it began to unravel. Was Ginko usually this playful, or is it just the nature of this place?

Well. Too late now. Laughing into his hand, Joker glances over what's before them. "Noodle, then. Since we both know I'm just gonna make a fool of myself if I try personally."

This has gotten so completely out of hand. Backing out now would seem weird and suspicious, so he guesses he's locked in now, and honestly how the hell did it come to this? Should he have shot the idea down when Joker first said it?

Why is acting like everything is normal and fine so hard?

"Oh, that's going to be interesting." He picks up a noodle and holds it out, trying to suppress a grin, because as much as he hates it this is... fun. Just joking around like this. "Alright, open your mouth. And don't blame me if this ends up being messy, you asked for it."

How the hell indeed. Yet past all the confusion and frustration, there's something genuine to Joker's grin as he laughs, pressing his hand down against the table as he shifts. That's sure one leg going between his body and the chair.

"Oh, it'll be fine, hold on. It won't be messy, just gotta-" And he leans forward, wobbling a little against it until he's nearly close enough that, if anything drops, it should a least fall back into the bowl... or something. He hopes it works, at least. "See!" And he opens his mouth, trying not to laugh too much. It'll be really awkward if he ends up choking.

Really, it would be easier if Joker could stop being so damn cute for a few minutes, but he guesses that's probably too much to ask.

Ginko snorts and leans forward, trying to sort of... flip the ends of the noodle into Joker's mouth so they don't end up hanging out. It kind of works, but one definitely does hit him on the nose on the way. "--Whoops. Sorry."

It goes really well, up until something is smacking into his nose, leaving a trail of wet on the side of his nostril, and Joker almost chokes laughing. Quickly, he retreats, ducking his head down to cover his mouth- both to hide his smile and in case he spills something.

"Very nice, Ginko," he says once his throat is clear, the peaks of his grin peering out past his hand.

"I did warn you." As hard as he tries, Ginko can't really stop himself from smiling back. But, just to be sure... "You didn't choke, did you?"

"Oh, I'm fine, I'm fine." Laughing a little, he reaches up to wipe some of the soup from his lips. Just to make sure he hasn't missed anything, his tongue flicks out for clean up duty.

"But it ain't too bad~. Thick noodles like that are nice, aren't they?"

"Yeah - told you it was good. Think you're ready to try eating on your own?" He grabs some himself, partly in the hopes that eating will hide his grin for a moment.

[pipers_son]

"My favorite part of ya, Ginko, is how much faith ya have in me in my ability ta eat with these things." Joker grins, trying to go for one of the fish cakes. "I'll steal everythin' else while yer preoccupied with the noodles, how about that?"

"Your favorite, huh." Well, he guesses there's not much to choose from - and he knows better than to voice that second part.

So, instead, he just grins and reaches for more noodles. "Sounds like a plan. Assuming you can eat that fast, which I'm not convinced of."

[pipers_son]

"Ah, ye of little faith." Joker muffles his laughter with a meaty little cake, leaning back to enjoy the flavor of it. Meat filled 'cakes' aren't unusual in England, but he can't really remember his homeland doing anything with fish like this. Funny, really. Aren't they both island countries?

"This is really good. I can see why ya like it."

"Hey, you've noticed yourself you're having some trouble eating like this. Doesn't seem like much of a jump to me." He's just saying, okay.

When Joker speaks again, Ginko has just deposited more noodles into his mouth, but gives as enthusiastic of a nod as he ever seems to manage before swallowing. "--Told you. Used to eat this stuff pretty frequently - lots of roadside stands sold it, so it was convenient, too."

Shit, that was cute.... He's really trying to stop himself from thinking that kind of thing, but the way he nodded with his mouth stuffed like that... Joker focuses on picking something up with his chopsticks and not dropping it, just to occupy his mind.

"Oh, so it's that kinda cheap food, then? So we could make it at the carnival, if it's that easy."

Ginko, of course, has absolutely no idea about that and would probably think it a little ridiculous if commented on. Instead, he's just excited about udon now.

"We could! I'll ask Rin about that. Hell, he might've made it before, 'n it just didn't line up with when I was getting food."

[pipers_son]

"Yeah, that's right, yer from the same kind of place, right? I mean, even if not-" He waves his chopsticks around, thankfully free of any food at the moment or it would sure as shit be dropped. "You know. The exact same. Same enough."

That's really all that can be asked for with a place as constantly changing and traveling as the carnival.

"Lad's a good cook, so I'm sure he would know. We can ask when we drop by the carnival. Think he checks his little mailbox?"

"Right; he's from Japan, too, just... a different Japan." Different time, different world... you know. All that stuff.

Ginko snorts and gives a lopsided shrug. "No idea. But if we drop something off and he doesn't seem to see it, we could always talk to him in person."
