Who: Everyone! But especially HARBINGERS!
When: S2:D16-22
Where: All over Wismuth!
What: As the Harbingers reveal themselves, those among the carnival that Creation has chosen will start to discover new powers within themselves. It's because they're magical girls, yo.
Warnings: Harbingers being assholes.

HARBINGERS OF VOID↴

On Day 16, the Harbingers begin revealing their new selves... in the form of wreaking havoc on the city! CY-Ren isn't looking for mass panic or serious structural damage - instead she wants constant annoyances and distractions, of the sort that will keep those that might be on her tail distracted from her true plans. However, when Creation is faced with the threat of twelve new Harbingers, it will have to fight in kind...

► HARBINGERS: Your job is to use your powers to create messes for other people to clean up! CY-Ren gives no specific instructions outside of a general framework... flex your powers! See what you can do. Don't destroy the city or anything, but give Creation a run for its money. She needs these civilians alive for her later plans.

► STAR GUARDIANS: Twelve members of the carnival have been chosen by Creation to fight in its name, even if they don't realize it yet. When confronted by the Harbinger's chaos, their Sparks will make themselves known in whatever form is appropriate to the character - and they will be asked if they are willing to use the power of their soul to fight the darkness. How this scene plays out can be flexible, but essentially they will find themselves faced with the question: are they willing to fight for the preservation of life? If they say yes, their Spark will emerge, and they will be able to trigger a magical girl transformation, as you do.

► CHARITY CONCERT: While everyone else is busy with the sudden rise of the Harbingers, CY-Ren's PR team is releasing a statement -- they will say that new information has revealed that there had been bomb threats made against the canceled concert, which are now being blamed for the damages. CY-Ren will make a personal statement, saying that in order to apologize for the failure of her previous performances, a new free to attend event is being planned for the near future - people who had tickets to the previous event and had to go home early get top priority!

Like helping CY-Ren. And nothing else matters more than that!

[He looks at the offered hand and steps back with a scowl now. Nothing else, no one else... he barely cares if at all. The end would come and it was necessary.]

That's ridiculous! [Yuya snaps, frustrated. It's so unlike Yugo, it's obviously something happened. Of course something did if she was kidnapping them, but he almost wishes it'd just been as bartering chips again.]

Since when do you--[He stops and swallows. 'Since when do you want to destroy everything' is a bad question, even if Yugo hasn't shown any signs of thinking the same way as they did as Zarc.

He shakes his head, taking another step closer.] That's not true! There's a lot of things that matter to you, that's why you joined the carnival!

[Well, okay. One thing.]

That's just what you think! Anyone who isn't with the Void doesn't matter to me either...! Not now, not ever!

[But it's obvious that Yugo's blatantly forgetting about that certain someone, even while insisting so. Because wouldn't that technically include-]

Even Rin? [It's a low blow, but Yuya's hoping against hope that it'll shake Yugo's senses a little. He can't really just--no, the carnival won't leave any of them like this, but Yuya has to do something to reach out to Yugo.]

[At that, Yugo certainly does look shaken up at least a little. Rin? His childhood friend, the first and initially only person he ever cared about. She's everyth- not at all. Serving CY-Ren is everything to him now. Because he had to...! And nothing else could be above it!]

I... she... NO!!

[The conflict just leaves Yugo absolutely seething with upset.] She threw me away! Our dreams! Why should I care about something that was just a LIE?!

[That's... not what he was expecting to hear.]

What do you mean, she threw you away? She was kidnapped by Academia, remember! That's why you were crossing dimensions, to save her!

[Please don't tell him this comes with amnesia.]

We dueled! Rin broke my D-Wheel into pieces then, our D-Wheel, the same one she and I worked so hard to build together...! Nothing I was saying to her mattered!

[Okay but that isn't...]

If she really cared about me as much as I did for her, then she wouldn't have listened to that bug without a second thought!

[Yuya hardly met Rin, so he's not sure what happened. But he can put the pieces together, what he saw from Serena and Ruri, and what little he saw of Rin when the Professor had her trapped in the Arc-V.

He shakes his head, tapping the side of it for emphasis.] Yugo, it wasn't her! Rin wouldn't just turn on you, you have to believe that! It was the Doctor controlling all of them!

[He starts forward again, hand outstretched as he tries to get right up to him.] Come on, Yugo!

Then like I said...!!! I guess she didn't actually care enough to put up a decent fight against it!

[His emotions spike high enough that his eyes gleam bright and sparks of plasma curl out from his mouth at each hot breath he makes. Does Yuya really want to get closer to this?]

[Yuya does stop when the plasma starts to flick through the air. He knows what that does and he's not looking to get mutilated.

He looks at Yugo sadly, almost with pity. He's really this far gone. Yuya can't leave him this way, but what can he do now?

For a moment he stands in silence, his gaze fixed on Yugo. He lets out a breath, drawing his hand back for a moment... as he looks down. These can't be Yugo's words. Like Serena... they must be hers.

He looks up with determination, his hand curling into a fist against his chest.]

I don't know what happened to you... but I'll break it and bring you back, Yugo! I promise!

[He just... has to figure out how the hell to do that.]

[Despite all that, Yugo is anything but impressed.]

Oh shut up! As if you know anything!

[But rather than do something as drastic as trying to hit Yuya with his plasma breath, he actually stops and considers the tool, the weapon he's still holding in his hand. Then changes gears rather immediately.]

But you've got that much confidence in yourself and the bonds you've made huh? Maybe I should put them to the test....

And I bet Odd-Eyes there wants to see Clear Wing again!

Of course Odd Eyes wants to see Clear Wing again! [Yuya holds the dragon card up so it's facing Yugo.] Can't you feel it?! [Stop tearing this family apart, Yugo!!]

[Yugo pulls what must be his own dragon card back out, then both it and his body starts radiating a dark aura as he flips it so the front faces Yuya-

.... That's not Clear Wing.]

Heh! I'll even bring him out...!

[As it shines even brighter, Yugo flicks the card forward and out materializes Clear Wing the servant dragon. Dark armor and leather crystallizes onto Yugo's body after the Void-corrupted synchro spirit turns to ghost through him.

Then finally as a finishing touch, the dragon swivels again to bite forward on Yugo's head, which leaves a helmet when they pull back and roar.]

[Things that were a mistake: this.

Yuya jumps back, holding Odd Eyes close as if they might rip them apart (and honestly, they might). Clear Wing literally biting Yugo's head is extremely alarming, but the twinge of relief that he wasn't hurt doesn't ease Yuya who's now staring at... he isn't sure what.

But he saw what CY-Ren could do at the concert. And he's a little afraid what Yugo can do.]

[Nothing quite as spectacular as his breath weapon. But indeed Yuya should be afraid as Yugo pats the dragon's scales.]

Oi Clear Wing, how about bringing him over to me?

[And with practiced ease, it seems out what the Harbringer also has in his possession is one of the feather blades that were for sale on the moon. Upon his command, "Clear Wing" grunts before charging forward for Yuya.

... Quick. Treat this like a trying to run from a direct attack in an action duel.]

[Yuya gasps with alarm, having not expected Yugo's new abilities to allow him to summon Clear Wing in full size. He remembers Noa mentioning 'familiars', but he should have asked more what that meant.

He wastes no time jerking to the side so he can turn heel and run. He slips Odd Eye's card back into his pocket, eyes scanning around for--anything to hide behind, any corner to turn around, something.

He dives into an alleyway and runs as fast as he can to the other side, hoping it's too small for Clear Wing to fit into.]

[Luckily for him, it's definitely too narrow for the dragon to fit much more than their head through in an attempt snatch up Yuya in their jaws (just by the back of his shirt).

But hey, that doesn't stop Clear Wing from just flying over it. Though Yugo hitches a ride onto its back since this might be a longer chase than they think.]

[Yuya notices them flying up above, and he skids to a half halfway down the alley with a panicked breath. He's cornered, but he can't let Yugo win. He can't save him, or anyone else, or this world if it all ends here.

And he doesn't want to know what Yugo has planned for him, anyway.

Yuya backs up against one of the walls, pursing his lips as he watches Yugo's path, desperately trying to come up with a plan to get out.]

[Upon observing that Yuya would rather take his chances hiding in here, the dragon snorts a hovers down to an almost perched position.]

Geez Yuya...! [Yugo calls down at him with a tone that's almost (but really not quite) as ominous Yuri might've done it.]

It's like you think I'm gonna hurt you or something!

[He can't get caught here, but the buildings are shorter than the alley is tall, and Clear Wing might be able to reach him from there. Absently he reaches for his pendulum, gripping it tight in his hand and he closes his eyes and takes a steadying breath.

He can get out of this if he believes. His courage will swing back to him. And then... then...

Then he hears it. Well, not hears it, but he feels it. Something that beats heavy with that mantra inside and outside him. He wants to help, wants to protect, but he can't as he is now. It can help him, though. He has the potential, right there inside him. Protect the world and he'll protect his friends, too.

There's a light down in the alley, and his heart feels warm. He's so focused on his private conversation with Creation that he doesn't notice it, or at least doesn't notice that anything is actually happening outside his own presence.

The light grows until it bursts like a bubble, leaving a shower of sparkles that disappear before they reach the ground. Yuya stands in white and gold, pendulum gone (but not really gone) and his hand instead gripping a large, star shaped bubble wand, and he's full of a presence he didn't have before. He opens his eyes slowly and looks around. And then looks down at himself.]

Eeeeh?! [He pulls away from the wall, spinning around as he tries to look over his new attire.]

[Well Yuya's not the only one looking surprised. Clear Wing rears back from the light show and Yugo still has to block out some of the brightness even through the helmet visor with his hand. And when it clears...

... Oh. Well it's not like Standard double hasn't made his stance clear already, this is just cementing that they're entirely enemies as far as Yugo should be concerned.]

Huh.

[Clear Wing growls threateningly.] Well. Does this mean you're gonna fight then or are you just gonna keep hiding in there like a coward?

[Yuya tilts his head back up to stare at the two of them blankly. He holds out the bubble wand and turns to it, as if it has any answers for him. Well, if this is the power he needs to stand up to Yugo... here it goes!

He swings it up with force. A couple colorful bubbles form, floating slowly up... slowly... slowly...

He doesn't know what he's doing.]

[They should probably be insulted, probably. Yugo has the dragon reach out and swipe at the ridiculously harmless-looking bubbles, intending to show off that they're just as futile a power to have as they look.

And then if they don't have any sort of magical effect upon being popped, Clear Wing's next move would be to chomp toward Yuya with they jaws again.]

[Not much of one, aside from sparkling when they pop. Yuya's got only a vaguest idea what his powers are.

He lets out a scream as Clear Wing comes down and ducks his head, projecting his shield to maximum capacity. It'll keep them out at least for the moment, although it can't hold forever. Yuya just hopes he can hold it long enough for a real plan. He glances back down the alley, each direction, and then back at Yugo.]
