What: With the Silver Mirror claimed and the animals of Eden relocated, it's time for the carnival to kick back and enjoy an interdimensional bathhouse and the surrounding festival city. Meanwhile, the scattered shards of the Mirror have an unexpected effect.
Warnings: Dark/Light halves acting weird.

THE BIG CLEANSE↴

As the carnival recovers, the Ringmaster has brought it to the gates of a famous interdimensional bathhouse to rest. She won't be joining you for most of it, though she will be checking in frequently and available by radio. She's fixed a large portion of the Silver Mirror after it shattered, but it seems like pieces are missing. She doesn't want to rest until the missing shards are dealt with, and the Mirror itself is locked away safely.

► YOUR OTHER HALF: The shards missing from the Silver Mirror didn't just disappear - after breaking apart in Eden, fragments of the object embedded themselves in the spirits of those not already touched by its powers, and those that had been the most fae-touched. That means, your characters. The effect of this, explained in more detail on the plotting post, is that some characters will be splitting into two versions of themselves: the Light, and the Dark. This doesn't mean good and evil, of course, it's far more complicated than that.

Splits can start happening at any time after arriving in Shabon, and initially characters won't know how to rejoin with their twins. Later on, it will become apparent that they need to reconnect via the shard of the Mirror they share... of course, in order to rejoin, you have to have both halves, and not all twins will be as eager to go back to the way things were before. This plot point is optional.

► SPA DAY: When you're not engaging in metaphysical division, you are free to enjoy the many luxuries that Shabon offers. Things will mostly have an east-Asian bend, like what you would see in the movie Spirited Away, but as long as it doesn't affect the setting much, you can honestly have whatever spa-type services available that you want. Food is served both in restaurants and 'buffet' style. There are also well paid sex workers here, if that is your thing, but make sure to tip well.

► FESTIVAL TOWN: The city surrounding Shabondamashii is largely meant to catch the business of interdimensional tourists. There are frequent parades and other events held, and the architecture is very closely packed. It's easy to get lost if you leave the bathhouse, but it's definitely worth it if you like party. You can pick out a few outfits for yourself and some fun nick nacks, but nothing that would normally require mod approval.

"No." Practiced isn't quite wrong, but somehow what's improvised sounds equally held together. "To forget would be to ignore- and I, the man Gongenzaka, refuse to do such a thing to you," he adds as he stands back up. "Therefore... I, the man Gongenzaka, wish to share something with you. ...I would like to invite you to sit with me, for a while."

Yuya's gaze follows Gon up as he stands. His fingers curl tightly into the door, unsure how to read that. He's not entirely sure how to read Gongenzaka in general, right now.

"... Okay." He nods once before taking a step out into he hallway. There's no reason he should have to say no, after all.

He is smiling. Softly, warmly, and somehow less intensely than he otherwisw would, but he is smiling. "Good," he replies, allowing himself a small sigh of relief. He offers his hand for Yuuya to take- Or so it seems.

There is sort of a box in it. "I, the man Gongenzaka, wish to offer you this, as well."

Yuya closes the door behind him, his eyebrows lifting up into his bangs as he looks between Gongenzaka and the gift. This... isn't the kind of 'let things go back to normal' he was thinking of, but Gongenzaka said he wouldn't ignore it. And wouldn't this all be too elaborate for a simple rejection?

"Thanks," he says softly with an uneven smile, then takes the box and immediately opens the container to peer inside with pure curiosity. What is this, what's going on?

Lighten up Yuuya! It's fine. Fineeee...

Inside the box is a simple, but well picked gift. It appears to be a rather fun coloured stationary set- complete with a name stamp. It's not immediately apparent, but the ink creates a glittering effect.

Gongenzaka seems to have his attention swt ahead, on where they're going. He has absolute faith that Yuuya will enjoy his gift after all.

As to where they're going, it's outside, following a more dirt beaten path.

Oh--Yuya roots through the box, thoroughly distracted with looking through the contents that he misses Gongenzaka's first attempt to lead him along. Once he notices, he shuts the box and holds it close with a smile as he quickly falls into step.

"This is great!" He grins much more strongly, any apprehension about Gon's weird behavior being effectively forgotten about in the face of a present.

HE KNEW IT-

Well, confidence further empowered, Gongenzaka moves to continue leading the way to a more natural tea area- it appears to be reserved at the moment. Walking in, Gongenzaka gestures for Yuuya to enter the clearing with a slightly bowed head in what could well be a romantic gesture. It wouldn't be out of place; once in, it is akin to the bench location the found but Capitalized upon. Lights dance among tall bamboo stalks, and a blanket has been draped across the ground to hold a simple traditional tea set. It's ready to be poured, and...

"...Shall we sit?" Gongenzaka invites, voice soft and face marred only by past injuries and a happy calm smile.

Yuya's quiet as they walk, but his spirits are slowly getting brighter as he follows along. There's still an awkward pit in his stomach, like he's waiting for what happened earlier that day to cone crashing down on them. But right now... things are safe.

He peers inside the area, taken aback by it. It's pre-set, private, really very pretty. Gongenzaka chose this? To talk?

He rubs the back of his neck as he looks down at the tea, looking at Gongenzaka with a little hesitance. His face is getting warm again, but he tries to play it off.

"Yeah, sure." He says with his voice as steady as he can, a faint smile, and then he enters the area to sit on the picnic cloth by the tea set. He puts his gift beside him, looking around to take everything in.

Of course he picked this place! Well. It seemed perfect for the task at least. Gongenzaka takes a seat himself, waiting until Yuuya is settled before pouring tea for them both.

Only then does he speak. "Your words, earlier. ...As I, the man Gongenzaka have said, how I reacted was unforgivable. My answer may not have been spoken, but another- an incorrect one, I fear- was therefore implied. I, the man Gongenzaka, therefore wish to prove to you...to show to you, what my answer is, and indeed would have been," he continues, looking to Yuuya as he speaks.

Yuya takes his cup once Gongenzaka pours it, blowing over the top before takes quick, short sips to taste it around the heat.

His gaze lifts to Gongenzaka as he speaks, the cup pressed against his lips and he pauses and listens quietly.

"An incorrect answer?" He lowers his teacup, looking at Gongenzaka with anticipation.

Gongenzaka nods. "Aaah, incorrect. I, the man Gongenzaka, ran after all. At the least, I should have simply collected my thoughts, to realize the clear conclusion!"

Even shouting, he seems 'off'. Less emotive, less booming. He pushes on. "Yuuya... You are my greatest friend, and my truest companion. You are one who I, the man Gongenzaka, feel honored to protecr and be protected by. Yuuya...to be with you, is the greatest thing I, the man Gongenzaka, could have ever been allowed. Which is why, when I, the man Gongenzaka say this...I must assure you that these words come from the bottom of my heart. Yuuya.

"I, the man Gongenzaka, love you. Truly, and deeply, I love you."

Yuya gapes, the teacup tumbling out of his fingers and spilling on the ground.

It's more direct than Yuya's prepared for, and he says it and Yuya knows they're speaking another language, and it's not exactly the same implication but also, it is, and after his last reaction, Yuya can't fathom how Gongenzaka can say it so firmly.

His face is turning colors that compete with his hair. He flusters, fumbling backwards a little as he searches Gon's face for... something.

"... But?" He doesn't know what answer he'sa more nervous about.

Gon is a rock. Patient and calm. The smile is real and honest but there isn't even a hair of doubt in his words. If anything there is only calm amusement as he catches Yuuya's mug with a vine. "Careful," he hums, "It would be best not to burn yourself, after all."

As it is. He waits a moment or so and says- "But? But what? There is no catch, Yuuya. It means the answer was 'yes'."

"Oh," Yuya's voice croaks as he's seemingly stunned. Can you blush hard enough to burn your face inside? It's starting to feel like that for Yuya, red to his ears as a wave of emotions rolls through him.

Yuya hadn't been so confident in his own feelings. He knew he loved Gon in some way, but that had been a kind of impulsive question driven as much by his curiosity to figure himself out as his interest.

Hearing Gongenzaka agree with it, though, makes his heart light. And his head light, how can he be so calm about this?! Yuya's always been drawn to Gongenzaka's stability, but he didn't know he could be suave with it. Is that what this is?

It takes a moment for Yuya to put his nerves together, before he shifts up and scoots closer. "I, uh--I feel the same way."

Obviously. He kind of confessed first.

His resulting laugh is warm but it is soft, quiet even, and it is odd- but by now he would have crushed the other in a hug. Yet he does not. Instead he gently moves to take the other's hand, nodding and smiling and...

"Saah...now that I, the man Gongenzaka have said this..." Dust- the daemon sort- floats out from his side as Marishi is summoned. "Perhaps it is best if my other half realize that all is also well." She HAD been rather...panicked after all right?

Still is, it seems. When the cheetah materializes she seems quite confused. When she finally sees the others she's even...hesitant. "N...Noboru..?"

Yuya holds Gongenzaka's hand firmly, sitting up on his knees, and leaning in with slow trepidation as his gaze focuses on Gon's lips. He said 'yes', so, if they feel the same he can...

Yuya doesn't quite get to follow through on that kiss, though, stopping halfway and Gon starts talking and staring dumbly as he summons Marishi instead. Yuya just ends up stalled in an awkward half-position as he looks down at Marishi.

Oh, hm.

"Oh...Ohhh no oh. Oh dear," Marishi is muttering, tail lashing anxiously. "Noboru. Noboru I sincerely hope you haven't-"

"Hmm?" Gongenzaka is rather calm considering the state of his daemon. "It is as I, the man Gongenzaka said after all. Making certain that my true answer was delivered with proper apology, was important. You agreed."

"Imp- Noboru!" Marishi chokes, focusing on Yuuya. "Yuuya. Yuuya, you must listen- certainly whatever he's said he will have been honest, but-"

But Gongenzaka stares blankly at the daemon, blinking. "Surely it is not so dire, that I, the man Gongenzaka, was allowed to think clearly..."

Marishi looks about ready to see if she can throw Gongenzaka at a wall right now.

Yuya listens to them argue, squeezing Gon's hand tighter as something uneasy settles in his stomach. Why does she seem so bothered about this?

"Why, what's wrong?" He's not even going to explain what this is. Maybe he's just delaying in case he's told that this is still wrong. He doesn't want that hope crushed immediately after confirming the way he feels about Gon.

"It is not something that is 'wrong', simply something which I, the man Gongenzaka must work with later."

"You'll fix it now is what you'll do-! Yuuya," she persists, explaining. "After Noboru ran off, I of course followed...but he immediately split in two! You're only looking at half of him! I tried to keep the other half supervised but he strayed too far and I was forced to dissipate...!"

Wait, what? "Only... half?"

Yuya looks at Gon in bewilderment, and then his shoulders raise and he lets out a startled yelp that reverberates with a shrill, fox-like whine. "You split up too?!"

How many people is this happening too? "Is this because I asked to kiss you?!"

Marishi would rub her head if she were the sort. If she were the sort being the key phrase.

Gongenzaka- this half anyway- is not happening. "I, the man Gongenzaka, am certain it would have happened if I were faced with another important decision or question. My doubts and fears were cast aside- I, the man Gongenzaka, shall recover 'them' after other matters are dealt with."

"Noboru...!" is Marishi's hissed response. "It is important NOW! I don't care what takes priority to you this time, he's going to get himself hurt and it's frankly still Us!"

"He's going to get hurt?!" Well that's a good way to make Yuya care about the problem. All wonderful romance in the atmosphere has been lost, anyway, so he turns to Gon and tugs against his hand.

"It's not good for you to be split up like this. We have to find a way to put you back together."

"Well at the rate he was going... ...You'll notice this one is more reserved and focused? Imagine what the opposite is likely to do here."

Like a st bernard in a cat tower.

Well. Gongenzaka seems somewhat annoyed, but this is Yuuya he is speaking to.

And he cares about Yuuya so very well, he will put it off for...This.

Whatever 'it' was in the first place. "Very well...let us begin a search then. You recall where you last were with him, yes? It will be easier to track ourselves from there."

Yuya rises to his feet, just barely remembering to turn back to gather up his gift before they leave. He's completely focused on finding Gon's other half, now, before something worrying happens.

"Can you feel for him? Er, for you? Your soul?"

Gongenzaka nods, closing his eyes. "Aauh, I, the man Gongenzaka, shall do that now." He just needs to focus...

In the meantime, Marishi just mutters under her breath. "...don't even know how to put them back together, what on earth is this nonsense..."
