What: With the Silver Mirror claimed and the animals of Eden relocated, it's time for the carnival to kick back and enjoy an interdimensional bathhouse and the surrounding festival city. Meanwhile, the scattered shards of the Mirror have an unexpected effect.
Warnings: Dark/Light halves acting weird.

THE BIG CLEANSE↴ As the carnival recovers, the Ringmaster has brought it to the gates of a famous interdimensional bathhouse to rest. She won't be joining you for most of it, though she will be checking in frequently and available by radio. She's fixed a large portion of the Silver Mirror after it shattered, but it seems like pieces are missing. She doesn't want to rest until the missing shards are dealt with, and the Mirror itself is locked away safely. ► YOUR OTHER HALF: The shards missing from the Silver Mirror didn't just disappear - after breaking apart in Eden, fragments of the object embedded themselves in the spirits of those not already touched by its powers, and those that had been the most fae-touched. That means, your characters. The effect of this, explained in more detail on the plotting post, is that some characters will be splitting into two versions of themselves: the Light, and the Dark. This doesn't mean good and evil, of course, it's far more complicated than that. Splits can start happening at any time after arriving in Shabon, and initially characters won't know how to rejoin with their twins. Later on, it will become apparent that they need to reconnect via the shard of the Mirror they share... of course, in order to rejoin, you have to have both halves, and not all twins will be as eager to go back to the way things were before. This plot point is optional. ► SPA DAY: When you're not engaging in metaphysical division, you are free to enjoy the many luxuries that Shabon offers. Things will mostly have an east-Asian bend, like what you would see in the movie Spirited Away, but as long as it doesn't affect the setting much, you can honestly have whatever spa-type services available that you want. Food is served both in restaurants and 'buffet' style. There are also well paid sex workers here, if that is your thing, but make sure to tip well. ► FESTIVAL TOWN: The city surrounding Shabondamashii is largely meant to catch the business of interdimensional tourists. There are frequent parades and other events held, and the architecture is very closely packed. It's easy to get lost if you leave the bathhouse, but it's definitely worth it if you like party. You can pick out a few outfits for yourself and some fun nick nacks, but nothing that would normally require mod approval.

“Shows what you know,” Lambert answers easily. Celandine looks frazzled, fur slightly puffed up along her compact, weasel-like body, while the daemon curls onto a cushion and watches the proceedings with distaste.

“Want to give it a try?” he offers Joker the water pipe’s end.

The smoke is flavored by herbal resins set on top of the pipe — exotic and hard to place the source of, but this ones purpose is to relax its users and take the edge off pain. Small wonder Lambert is indulging, with how he’s been.

"Yes, I suppose it does." It's an easy enough concession to make, and Joker settles down besides him easily enough. It means undoing his clothing just a little bit, enough to sit comfortably, but he doesn't mind it. In a place like this, with smoke and liquor, worse has no doubt been seen.

Accepting the end of the water pipe, he doesn't indulge right away and instead turns it over in his fingers slowly. "So you're not worried that it might get ruined if you just give it to anyone carelessly?"

Given that not all this stop’s patrons are humanoid, or even have a concept of clothing, Shabon really has seen worse.

“Don’t see how you could ruin it,” Lambert answers comfortably. “What, were you planning to smoke that pipe with your ass?”

"I mean, might be an ass that's smoking it." At least he still has some sort of humor left in him, even if it's said a little flatly. Finally, he takes a careful breathe of the whole thing. The smoke really is too sweet. "Plan on staying here the whole time, then?"

"Now it's two asses smoking it," Lambert says, laconically, before be blinks and shrugs.

"Why not? Nobody's looking for me, or needs me. Wouldn't be much of a spa if anything needed killing in it." He tucks a hand under his head, looking at the patterned ceiling.

"What about you? Don't you have diplomating to practice?"

"Ha. It is indeed." At least they're both on the same wavelength, then. It almost makes him feel a little bit better about the potential idea of not having to lie too much or put on a fake face. As long as he's an ass, then it doesn't really matter.

Not completely, but enough to make him snicker through the smoke. "Who am I going to diplomat at? At any point, and not just here."

Lambert’s answer is a big ol’ shrug, robe slipping partly off one shoulder.

“Do Iook like I know a damn thing about diplomacy?” Like seriously, Joker, it’s like you don’t know him at all! “Ask Yuya or Steven. Seems like they think they can make friends with just about anything. Gonna get them killed one day.”

And then he snickers.

“Maybe you should try it on the Red Beast.”

"Do I?" he counters easily enough, a little bolder with a pipe in his hand. It's going to be a mess when the smoke really does hit, but that's a problem for, well... Someone else. In the future.

"Besides, making friends isn't all there is to diplomacy. Sometimes you have to be a proper bastard." Another deep inhale that makes him choke a little bit. Excuse him. "Probably."

"Or use a little magic." Cue Lambert wiggling his fingers. He's certainly used that strategy to great effect.

Just for that, Joker blows a little bit of smoke right in Lambert's face. Can you get high like this, or is it just a pain in the ass? Time to find out. "Not everyone can cheat."
