What: With the Silver Mirror claimed and the animals of Eden relocated, it's time for the carnival to kick back and enjoy an interdimensional bathhouse and the surrounding festival city. Meanwhile, the scattered shards of the Mirror have an unexpected effect.
Warnings: Dark/Light halves acting weird.

THE BIG CLEANSE↴ As the carnival recovers, the Ringmaster has brought it to the gates of a famous interdimensional bathhouse to rest. She won't be joining you for most of it, though she will be checking in frequently and available by radio. She's fixed a large portion of the Silver Mirror after it shattered, but it seems like pieces are missing. She doesn't want to rest until the missing shards are dealt with, and the Mirror itself is locked away safely. ► YOUR OTHER HALF: The shards missing from the Silver Mirror didn't just disappear - after breaking apart in Eden, fragments of the object embedded themselves in the spirits of those not already touched by its powers, and those that had been the most fae-touched. That means, your characters. The effect of this, explained in more detail on the plotting post, is that some characters will be splitting into two versions of themselves: the Light, and the Dark. This doesn't mean good and evil, of course, it's far more complicated than that. Splits can start happening at any time after arriving in Shabon, and initially characters won't know how to rejoin with their twins. Later on, it will become apparent that they need to reconnect via the shard of the Mirror they share... of course, in order to rejoin, you have to have both halves, and not all twins will be as eager to go back to the way things were before. This plot point is optional. ► SPA DAY: When you're not engaging in metaphysical division, you are free to enjoy the many luxuries that Shabon offers. Things will mostly have an east-Asian bend, like what you would see in the movie Spirited Away, but as long as it doesn't affect the setting much, you can honestly have whatever spa-type services available that you want. Food is served both in restaurants and 'buffet' style. There are also well paid sex workers here, if that is your thing, but make sure to tip well. ► FESTIVAL TOWN: The city surrounding Shabondamashii is largely meant to catch the business of interdimensional tourists. There are frequent parades and other events held, and the architecture is very closely packed. It's easy to get lost if you leave the bathhouse, but it's definitely worth it if you like party. You can pick out a few outfits for yourself and some fun nick nacks, but nothing that would normally require mod approval.

Syrlya doesn't bother to argue he probably wouldn't feel sorry about missing out. There's too many things he misses out on in life because he has to focus on preventing the slow decline of his world. If he thought about it, he'd just get bitter.

He's only half paying attention as the attendant pulls out a different kimono and hakama, holding it against him. It's fancy, but Syrlya's robes probably look oddly ornate, so she might just be assuming he likes that. "What about this one?"

"Hmmm...." Carly seems to pause over a few pieces, narrowing her eyes. The colours are all good and fine, but there's more to it than that after all so...

"Syrlya you don't sweat right? ....Ahhh...do you leave any impressions on other fabrics though?" Like when you do flower presses, she figures.

It'd suck if bending your arm left a permanent leaf mark.

"I do not sweat, or... leave impressions." He assumes she means stain. He takes the kimono as the shopkeeper starts rooting for others, looking down at it. "This looks fine, doesn't it?"

"Okay, good! I wasn't sure...some fabric, it's really easy to leave a texture behind, it's why they're used for prints and things." Staining was far from her thoughts. Anyway.

"Hmm!~ This should look nice... ...It's not too bright, but it's enough to stand out a little~!"

That's exactly what he doesn't want,

Syrlya raises a brow. "What am I standing out for?" He thought this was about blending in. Isn't being an actual plant enough standing out as it is?

"Oh, not that sort of standing out," she swiftly assures the other. "I just mean something that doesn't make you completely disappear into the walls- you don't want to just be bumped into the whole time right?"

That is definitely not what she means.

Syrlya squints at her, suspiciously. "My current clothes do not make me blend into the walls, either. I am hardly under stealth."

People wandering carelessly are always going to be, well, careless (and okay, he can be clumsy too). So he's not quite following her logic, if it's not just defecting from a different reason.

"And it's not in comparison to what you're wearing now..! It's a note on how it looks next to other patterns here.."

So she says, while slowly glancing at the store keeper. They can't let him get away,

Syrlya is only looking less believing at that. Why would any of the other clothes make him blend into everything? Unless they're magic, it doesn't make any sense to him.

"... If you think so." He supposes that's what they'll go with. "How much do these cost again?"

The saleswoman rattles off the rough price while Carly beams. It's not too much- maybe a slight bit more than the average yukata, but hey, Syrlya doesn't strike her as much for souvenirs anyway so,

"Not a bad price at all~" Carly chimes in, beaming.

[chronosynthesis]

Is it? He doesn't know what the currency conversion here is.

"Then I suppose I'll take it." Otherwise, he expects they both might keep him shopping here for a while. He turns to the shopkeeper, who takes the set and ushers them over to the register. Syrlya starts to dig out the allowance the Ringmaster provided.

"Wonderful~" "Excellent!!" Carly is resisting the urge to do her own ushering it seems, merely beaming all the way.

"You're going to put it on after this, right?"

[chronosynthesis]

"Is there a place to change?" Syrlya glances around. The truth of the matter is that Syrlya's never worn something quite like this before, and he's probably going to need help.

[fortuneglass]

"There should be..." The store keep will probably point that out though. "Ah- do you need any instructions though? At the very least, make sure to tie the top 'left over right', otherwise you'll look like you're in funeral clothing..!"

[chronosynthesis]

"Left over right, understood." Will he remember that when he's actually trying to pull it together? Questionable.

He wraps the set over his arm as it's paid for, turning back to Carly with a slightly bemused expression. "It looks like simple robes. I am sure I can manage."

So he thinks.

"Mmmm, for the most part..." She seems to go into thought on the matter. "...The hakama might be a bit tricky to tie, but you should be fine~! I'm sure they have someone who can help if you really need it!"

Hopefully.

He is absolutely going to struggle with this.

The shopkeeper points out some loose tents outside the stall, where presumably people who buy clothes anywhere can use to change into their recent purchases.

"Excuse me," Syrlya says to Carly with a nod, after thanking the shopkeeper and crossing the street to slip into the tent.

He pokes out after a little less than ten minutes, the kimono and hakama pulled tight, but... tied and layered very wrong. He tried, though.

Carly does well to not laugh, all things considered. She can't help but quietly cover her mouth though, as she blinks. "Mn...Almost? Maybe I should give you instructions, or...ahhh..."

She sure isn't going to offer to help directly, he's not five.
