⇨ SHABONDAMASHII

Who: Everyone!
When: Day 92 - Day 99
Where: Shabondamashii Bathhouse
What: With the Silver Mirror claimed and the animals of Eden relocated, it's time for the carnival to kick back and enjoy an interdimensional bathhouse and the surrounding festival city. Meanwhile, the scattered shards of the Mirror have an unexpected effect.
Warnings: Dark/Light halves acting weird.
THE BIG CLEANSE

As the carnival recovers, the Ringmaster has brought it to the gates of a famous interdimensional bathhouse to rest. She won't be joining you for most of it, though she will be checking in frequently and available by radio. She's fixed a large portion of the Silver Mirror after it shattered, but it seems like pieces are missing. She doesn't want to rest until the missing shards are dealt with, and the Mirror itself is locked away safely.

► YOUR OTHER HALF: The shards missing from the Silver Mirror didn't just disappear - after breaking apart in Eden, fragments of the object embedded themselves in the spirits of those not already touched by its powers, and those that had been the most fae-touched. That means, your characters. The effect of this, explained in more detail on the plotting post, is that some characters will be splitting into two versions of themselves: the Light, and the Dark. This doesn't mean good and evil, of course, it's far more complicated than that.

Splits can start happening at any time after arriving in Shabon, and initially characters won't know how to rejoin with their twins. Later on, it will become apparent that they need to reconnect via the shard of the Mirror they share... of course, in order to rejoin, you have to have both halves, and not all twins will be as eager to go back to the way things were before. This plot point is optional.

► SPA DAY: When you're not engaging in metaphysical division, you are free to enjoy the many luxuries that Shabon offers. Things will mostly have an east-Asian bend, like what you would see in the movie Spirited Away, but as long as it doesn't affect the setting much, you can honestly have whatever spa-type services available that you want. Food is served both in restaurants and 'buffet' style. There are also well paid sex workers here, if that is your thing, but make sure to tip well.

► FESTIVAL TOWN: The city surrounding Shabondamashii is largely meant to catch the business of interdimensional tourists. There are frequent parades and other events held, and the architecture is very closely packed. It's easy to get lost if you leave the bathhouse, but it's definitely worth it if you like party. You can pick out a few outfits for yourself and some fun nick nacks, but nothing that would normally require mod approval.

"It's a vacation. I can do what I want," Lambert shrugs. He'll reach for the sake again to pour himself some, considering the topic's rapidly souring his mood.

"But this is only part of him," Celandine sighs. "Something strange happened ... and he split into two people."

"So how joints have kicked ya out so far, huh?" Because it couldn't just be one with his current attitude.

But splitting? Well, this might explain it. Not that she knew Lambert well enough to say whether or not he'd be a pissbaby drunk on any other night. "And you were left with him? Aren't you a devote little thing."

“Does it matter?” Lambert shrugs, then adds cynically, “You don’t even care anyway.”

It’s hard to be parted from him when I’m his soul.” Celandine flips down with a sigh. “Though I’m glad I’m not affected by this either...

Shura casually ignores that remark of his, instead focusing on the ferret thing.

"You didn't split?" Wait, there's something here that Shura doesn't quite get. Her brow furrows as she tries to figure out just what part of this fuzzy thing is Lambert's soul and why he has a cute furry animal for a soul, and honestly she just wants another drink. Except is that bottle mostly empty? Uggh. Too lazy to get up from the pile of cushions, Shura instead resorts to using her feminine wiles to try and grab the attention of some poor employee so she can get him to bring the booze over to them. Obviously, that's the best solution.

Hopefully, those feminine wiles are backed up with coin, or she'll shortly be getting kicked out as well. Nonetheless, Shura won't have trouble flagging a hapless waiter down, and he'll take her order before bustling off to retrieve more alcohol.

"I'm not sure why," Celandine admits, frowning. "But maybe it's because I'm just here because of Lambert's spell, not the Ringmaster's. When we were in a world called Greysol, everyone's souls were outside their bodies and shaped like animals, and people called them daemons. The Ringmaster cast a spell on the Carnival workers so they'd fit in, like when she made us all animals in Eden. After we left, people went back to normal, but she taught people a spell that would let them call their daemon back whenever they wanted to."

Fine, she has some money. She'd much rather spend Lambert's money, but it was best to keep on the good side of the people here. Getting banned from all of the bars in Shabon for not paying sounded like a terrible plan.

Though the explanation helps, Shura finds herself only caring so much. Outside animal souls! That sounded like a big pain. Well, whatever.

"So like a mascot kinda thing?" She that that as much to herself as anything else, distracted by the arrival of a bottle of shochu and brand new cups. Time to pour some for both her and Lambert. And the little furry mascot? Did she drink??

Try not paying and then accidentally setting a table on fire...

"Something like that," Celandine demurs. She doesn't really know what a 'mascot' is in this context, but she's not going to seek clarification. If Shura pays close attention, she'll probably realize the daemon's a little wobbly already too, though not anything near her human's state.

Nonetheless, when she pours out a drink, Lambert will reach over and snag the cup with a wan smirk.

"This round's on you, huh?"
