⇨ SHABONDAMASHII

Who: Everyone!
When: Day 92 - Day 99
Where: Shabondamashii Bathhouse
What: With the Silver Mirror claimed and the animals of Eden relocated, it's time for the carnival to kick back and enjoy an interdimensional bathhouse and the surrounding festival city. Meanwhile, the scattered shards of the Mirror have an unexpected effect.
Warnings: Dark/Light halves acting weird.
THE BIG CLEANSE

As the carnival recovers, the Ringmaster has brought it to the gates of a famous interdimensional bathhouse to rest. She won't be joining you for most of it, though she will be checking in frequently and available by radio. She's fixed a large portion of the Silver Mirror after it shattered, but it seems like pieces are missing. She doesn't want to rest until the missing shards are dealt with, and the Mirror itself is locked away safely.

► YOUR OTHER HALF: The shards missing from the Silver Mirror didn't just disappear - after breaking apart in Eden, fragments of the object embedded themselves in the spirits of those not already touched by its powers, and those that had been the most fae-touched. That means, your characters. The effect of this, explained in more detail on the plotting post, is that some characters will be splitting into two versions of themselves: the Light, and the Dark. This doesn't mean good and evil, of course, it's far more complicated than that.

Splits can start happening at any time after arriving in Shabon, and initially characters won't know how to rejoin with their twins. Later on, it will become apparent that they need to reconnect via the shard of the Mirror they share... of course, in order to rejoin, you have to have both halves, and not all twins will be as eager to go back to the way things were before. This plot point is optional.

► SPA DAY: When you're not engaging in metaphysical division, you are free to enjoy the many luxuries that Shabon offers. Things will mostly have an east-Asian bend, like what you would see in the movie Spirited Away, but as long as it doesn't affect the setting much, you can honestly have whatever spa-type services available that you want. Food is served both in restaurants and 'buffet' style. There are also well paid sex workers here, if that is your thing, but make sure to tip well.

► FESTIVAL TOWN: The city surrounding Shabondamashii is largely meant to catch the business of interdimensional tourists. There are frequent parades and other events held, and the architecture is very closely packed. It's easy to get lost if you leave the bathhouse, but it's definitely worth it if you like party. You can pick out a few outfits for yourself and some fun nick nacks, but nothing that would normally require mod approval.

Lambert isn't going to have too much to say in return, just obediently (and slightly tipsily) following Carly. Unlike the magician, he doesn't have the option to cheat with drinks, and he ends up hanging off his arm for support most of the way there, feeling cautiously... happy isn't exactly the right word for it. Content, maybe.

That settles it, then. They're off! The witcher and the magician staggering along in Carly's wake as the latter still mutters to himself, trying to say the word correctly. It's never going to happen, never, ever. He does pick up the pace in hauling Lambert around once he picks up the smell of grilled food in the air, though.

And what a smell! The strongest of them is going to be the onions and meats, no doubt. Once they're near, they'll be met with a few half-length curtains covering a doorway. "Hereeee we are..!" Carly cheers, turning with a grin. "After you..~" she continues, playfully holding one of the curtains up.

The inside looks fairly 'typical', at least for what Carly would recognize. various tables with a grill in the center can be seen, and once the others are inside Carly will follow. "We seat ourselves here," she tells them, nodding. "So just pick a table~"

....There is, naturally, a bar as well. If they were wondering about drinks.

"Let's sit ... over there." Lambert points at a table in the corner of the room, which affords a decent view of the place, but more importantly, keeps his back to the wall. He'll actually lead the way this time, squirming onto a bench seat and tugging Childermass to sit beside him.

He looks curiously from the grill to Carly, and back, but he can figure out how it's supposed to be used (more or less) from watching the other diners. But more importantly...

"It smells good." His ears twitch curiously, the new earrings set into one of them clinking gently together as they do so. "Do the places that serve it always look like this...?"

Yeah, sorry unpronounceable word, you're getting demoted to an it.

"All the places look like this, Lambert," Childermass claims as he slumps down onto the bench next to him and immediately leans over on the witcher. Of course, he's tipsy, so it isn't a very honest claim and more all the places they've been to before now blurring together.

"Every single one. All the same color red and the same lanterns."

"But do they all have grills~!" Really the question is why she's trusting two drunk men in front of a grill, because while they might not cook it themselves there are a number of things that could.

And maybe will.

Go wrong, with a hot grill in front of them all. As it is. "Only some of these places are like this, for Okonomiyaki; it's easy to make, so a lot of it is sold in the streets! Here though, they make them in front of you~" It's part of the Appeal, or something.

Countdown to Lambert just attempting to barbecue things with his own fire breath and setting the entire top of the table alight, really ... but the idea of having someone personally cook for them has an intriguing charm to it. It's enough to get Lambert to sit up straighter, faintly jostling the magician on him.

"Go on and order, then," he says slurring his words only faintly. Now that he's thinking about it, he feels a lot hungrier than he thought he was.
