What: With the Silver Mirror claimed and the animals of Eden relocated, it's time for the carnival to kick back and enjoy an interdimensional bathhouse and the surrounding festival city. Meanwhile, the scattered shards of the Mirror have an unexpected effect.
Warnings: Dark/Light halves acting weird.

THE BIG CLEANSE↴ As the carnival recovers, the Ringmaster has brought it to the gates of a famous interdimensional bathhouse to rest. She won't be joining you for most of it, though she will be checking in frequently and available by radio. She's fixed a large portion of the Silver Mirror after it shattered, but it seems like pieces are missing. She doesn't want to rest until the missing shards are dealt with, and the Mirror itself is locked away safely. ► YOUR OTHER HALF: The shards missing from the Silver Mirror didn't just disappear - after breaking apart in Eden, fragments of the object embedded themselves in the spirits of those not already touched by its powers, and those that had been the most fae-touched. That means, your characters. The effect of this, explained in more detail on the plotting post, is that some characters will be splitting into two versions of themselves: the Light, and the Dark. This doesn't mean good and evil, of course, it's far more complicated than that. Splits can start happening at any time after arriving in Shabon, and initially characters won't know how to rejoin with their twins. Later on, it will become apparent that they need to reconnect via the shard of the Mirror they share... of course, in order to rejoin, you have to have both halves, and not all twins will be as eager to go back to the way things were before. This plot point is optional. ► SPA DAY: When you're not engaging in metaphysical division, you are free to enjoy the many luxuries that Shabon offers. Things will mostly have an east-Asian bend, like what you would see in the movie Spirited Away, but as long as it doesn't affect the setting much, you can honestly have whatever spa-type services available that you want. Food is served both in restaurants and 'buffet' style. There are also well paid sex workers here, if that is your thing, but make sure to tip well. ► FESTIVAL TOWN: The city surrounding Shabondamashii is largely meant to catch the business of interdimensional tourists. There are frequent parades and other events held, and the architecture is very closely packed. It's easy to get lost if you leave the bathhouse, but it's definitely worth it if you like party. You can pick out a few outfits for yourself and some fun nick nacks, but nothing that would normally require mod approval.

"Mmmmm. I still hate you, but that doesn't mean I don't like seeing you." Yukio has a lot of conflicting emotions, and he can't articulate them even when his head's clear. "Sort of like my brother."

[exaomori]

What an explanation. What a dweeb. Shura can't help but laugh, having to slow to a stop to collect herself. It's not a mean or mocking laughter, just loud and drunk.

"Haha, so blunt!" But being honest was a good thing, even if she was being compared to Rin.

[reflash]

"I have to be, or you won't listen." Yukio frowns, looking at Shura as she laughs. "You and my brother are a lot alike."

Shura, watch out. You're about to get adopted.

[exaomori]

"I'm cuter than him ♥" Shura doesn't see the resemblance, but whatever. She was his teacher, and Shiro was her teacher. There was probably some similarities, if only superficially.

But what way were they going? Ah, right--they need to turn here, then... Well, it'll become familiar the closer the get. Shura tugs on Yukio's sleeve as she picks up her meandering pace again, trying to make sure that he doesn't lose track of her in a strange place.

[reflash]

He follows, and when Shura tugs on his sleeve he lets her, follows her around as he considers a lot of things.

"Do you hate me?"

[exaomori]

Don't ask her about her feelings, Yukio?? She only knows how to express them indirectly by threatening Mephisto. But not answering him seems like a bad idea, so instead of being honest, she'll just be indirect.

"Hate you? Nyeheh, y'think I'd be playin' with someone I didn't like?"

[reflash]

"It's complicated." Yukio has a lot of things in his life that are complicated. "Lots of things are. I think you can hate someone but still... like them."

[exaomori]

Was he admitting that he liked her? Shura knows that Yukio doesn't just hate her. Yukio got stupid when his feelings got involved and did stupid stuff like attacking Hachiro when he was clearly outmatched and should have listened to her and left the matter alone.

"That's true~" Was this just him thinking and processing his drunk feelings out loud, or did her really need her to get specific on this? "Sometimes people you like a lot can drive you real nuts~"

[reflash]

He's absolutely thinking out loud, just saying cautious statements as he tries to process feelings he doesn't really have anymore.

"I'm not going to confess to you." So there.

[exaomori]

She lets out a snort. Another turn here, and--yeah, that's the place they're staying, just a little ways down.

"You don't gotta~ But it's bad to bottle it up for too long." She's said that before. It's worth saying again, even if he won't listen to her very good advice.

[reflash]

"You always tell everyone all your feelings all the time. It's not healthy."

[exaomori]

"Haha, is that so bad? I don't like keepin' things a secret, y'know?" Look, it's not her fault Angel's a giant idiot who conscripted her into his stupid special ops unit...

[reflash]

"I know you don't. But maybe you should." He recognizes that building, and his steps slow. He really doesn't want to go back, but he also really wants to go to sleep.

[exaomori]

"I keep secrets just fine when I gotta~" She kept it a secret from Yukio that she was given a mission from the Vatican to murder his brother, so she's perfectly capable!

Shura notices the way he slows, and she tugs on his sleeve. "Let's get some juice. There's a vending machine close to your room, ain't there?"

[reflash]

"There's one by your room too," he says, because while he isn't afraid of going back to his room, he doesn't want to deal with the possibility of Shura meeting his other half.

[exaomori]

"Yours is closer." Also, she does actually want to make sure that he drinks it before passing out, and also, make sure that he doesn't pass out in a random chair. She knows better than to trust him to do either of those things sober, let alone while he's drunk.

[reflash]

He absolutely has passed out in random chairs before, more often than he would like to admit. And right now, he's strongly considering just sleeping in the hallway if he doesn't get to bed soon. He'll be fine, no one's going to bother him here.

But he doesn't, because Shura's steering him back towards his room. The drink machine is there, in the hallway, and Yukio grabs some juice and considers it.

[exaomori]

“You’re gonna have a nasty headache if you don’t drink somethin’,” Shura tells him before taking a sip of her juice. What was he trying to dodge now, monsters in the closet? Nightmares? Puking?

[reflash]

"I already drank something." Yukio complains, but yes, alcohol doesn't count and he takes a drink of the juice. They're still standing in the hallway, but maybe they're loud enough to let the other one know they're there, and he'll hide.

[exaomori]

What a fussy brat. Clearly, he needed to have the hangover from hell before he took her advice seriously. Maybe she should have let him learn the the hard way instead of trying to limit the damage? Well, no, she might feel a little guilty.

"Drink more~ Better more than feeling like crap in the morning." But since he's drinking the juice, there's not much point in loitering in the hall. If he wanted, she'd hang out in his room, but if not, she'll be satisfied just making sure he gets there. "C'mon, let's keep goin'."

[reflash]

Guiding him back is probably a good idea. Yukio is starting to slide down the wall he's leaning against, his head still fuzzy from the alcohol. He's tired, in a purely physical way that comes from trying to stick to a four-hours-a-night sleep schedule.

"I don't want to."

[exaomori]

“There’s a nice bed waitin’ for ya. It’s much better than sleepin’ out here.” She takes him by the arm, pulling him in the direction of his room. Just one last thing before she could hit pass out in her own bed.

[reflash]

"But he's there," Yukio mutters, a slight complaint. He can deal with his dark half, but he doesn't really want to.

[exaomori]

“Who, Rin?” Who else would it be? And since it’s probably just Rin, Shura won’t hesitate before sliding open the door to his room when they get down the hall.

[reflash]

Rin isn't here. The room would be hard to hide in, with just a futon, a closet, and a tatami mat floor. And someone in the corner, huddled beneath a blanket, tail curled around him and claws digging into the matting beneath him.

The person with Shura doesn't say anything. Why would he?
