THEORY & CONCLUSION↴![]() At the midnight between Day 109 and Day 110, something happens. For most people, it won't be clear what - yet, they are shaken by it just the same. Violent tremors appear out of nowhere, rattling the entirety of the Polar station, violent enough to throw sleeping test subjects off their bunks. The source is unclear, but there is a sudden flurry of activity from staff as power flickers and is lost in various parts of the facility. Subjects, for the most part, will be left to their cells while they try to sort things out. The next morning, the staff are late picking people up. It's more like 6:30AM than the usual 6AM when they arrive to take people to the farm, which is a bit of tardiness that is entirely without precedent. Any questions about the incident the previous night will be waved off with the explanation of 'technical difficulties' that have been 'resolved.' ► DELTA: The three new Deltas will be left in their cells for even longer, waiting to be picked up, instructed that they would be escorted elsewhere instead of to the farm. Around 6:45AM some unfamiliar technicians will arrive and tell them that they are here to begin their processing into Delta. They are led into a previously untouched section of the station, where they are invited into a somewhat more intimate medical room to be asked some cursory questions and given a check up. Then, their suits will be removed, and they will be provided with their new uniforms, which they can apply like normal clothes. Delta life begins there. There will be a top level for the initial parts of their processing to be played out. Ultimately, however, they will end up being given a tour of the new Delta facilities, which amounts to a waterfront area that borders the new apartments they'll be staying in, as well a small supply shop where they can pick up an allotted amount of 'amenities' per day, based on their level of productivity and other achievements. This includes luxury items like food, pleasant smelling soaps, or other hygiene related tools. There are even small things like decorations or pictures of other places available, though they are fairly expensive. The first day will mostly involve the processing, a tour, and some basic training regarding the new tools they will be using, such as the mandatory visors and basic computer access. The next day, observation shifts in the farm will start, as will participation in trials. ► FARMING: The Farm will continue as normal, though it seems like there are fewer staff observing it at the moment. The ones that are there seem a little bit more tense than usual. Power is still down in some places, but the Farm is thankfully still active. Sometimes the productivity turn-in scanners might be a bit glitchy, so try not to panic if it measures fewer points than you're due. ► TRIALS: Trials are continuing as projected, though with the most broad of experiments already under way, they may be more selective. If you have an idea for a trial you can be sure to share it with the staff, and they will take it under advisement! Any information you want to provide is encouraged, they will say, especially if it involves notable traits about you or your fellow test subjects - or perhaps behavioral patterns you've noticed. You might even be rewarded! |

But regardless, once they're in the stalks...Gongenzaka starts picking.
The symbol of 'shh' comes to mind again- But then on top of it there's a symbol of their radios connected with wire.
(He has a feeling Syrlya has never seen tin-can telephones)
"Have you been doing well thus far, Syrlya? ...We have not spoken since recovering Yuuya..." It's obvious that his words are a ruse- especially since the thought speech for lack of better terms continues.
There is the feeling of 'hope', and the image of the sun. A shrouded figure in front of it, but the overwhelming sense of someone they can trust.
Considering that he's opened the conversation with memories of their own escape efforts, perhaps there's a link. (Really, he just thought of the last thing they did together. Convenient, though.)
no subject
"And yourself?"
no subject
With a sigh, he responds....carefully. "...I, the man Gongenzaka, am doing...relatively well. With luck, perhaps, I shall reach Delta..."
He tries again. This time, he's going to flash one of his notes- one from the arrow fae.
The one he received first. 'You are not alone'. He projects the image as it would have been in his eyes; a moment of dream where he held it in his hands. Corn falls into the basket he is holding, and briefly he tries to add something.
The feeling of being watched. The feeling of caution, as he looks directly at him. He's not doing this for fun Syrlya, there's a reason he's not using words.
no subject
"Gongenzaka... can't you use words for this?" He just showed him some on a note, right? He knows he's not alone, that doesn't mean anything to him.
no subject
At least try to be stealthy with him you jerk,Gongenzaka pauses, and lowers his voice. "Images, and emotions," he replies. "That is the limit, if it is to be kept between us."
The feeling of being watched intensifies, with the images of both the cameras, and the Technicians on his mind.
He refuses to say this aloud!

"...Are there no games of that sort, where you came from? Where one guesses meaning from images?" He pauses, and adds- "...The 'words' that I, the man Gongenzaka have, are limited. I am coming to you in the only way I can."
A pleading feeling- Just try it, for now. There's not much he needs to carry across!
Just another note-
We need a plan- and from he himself, Will gather our pieces, and tell you.
Just bear with him. Please bear with him!
One last thing he'll try by image- and an emotional equivalent of Don't. Panic comes with it.
An image of the map, as he was given it. Drawn, on another note. Except instead of focus on the core...
Something is different.
no subject
And then stops when the map is displayed.
"... So they moved him," he mumbles mostly to himself. Then he looks up at Gong with surprise. "How?"
How did he figure that out? Did Lambert learn something else? He hasn't seen him today...
no subject
As it is. They probably moved him. Now.
Image of Ignataius, with the Sun. Image of shadowed figure, with the Sun.
Except wait scratch that- Gongenzaka coughs, and the image seems to be batted off with an invisible hand. INSTEAD, THIS TIME.
Ignatius, in the Summerlands. Mystery Shadowed Figure....in the summerlands. A golden arrow appears over the shadow- an image that holds before the entire thing is replaced with the notes wrapped around such golden arrows.
That note about them not being alone is there again- though Gongenzaka follows it with their reason. For Ignatius. ...And. Also 'altruism', as the note said.
"I, the man Gongenzaka, am doing my best..." he grunts idly, aloud. "However..."
There's that leaf symbol again. In reality, Gon raises a brow. "...One never knows, what damage a simple word could bring," he mutters.
He really, really, Really. Doesn't think he should test talking about the details of this out loud. To the point where another note is displayed, with worry- they have someone on the inside, somewhere.
So Gongenzaka really doesn't want to ruin this.
no subject
He pinches the bridge of his nose when the leaf pops up again. "Unless they are going to contact me, Gongenzaka, it is all right to get to the heart of the matter."
Wait. If it's been notes. "Can't I see their notes?"
Why isn't he just sending those??
no subject
In their mind, he shows the image of a clock moving over Many. Many hours.
Really dude you want all the notes you really sure about that?
There is a frustrated pulse along with it, and a slightly frustrated grunt, and after a Very faint image of those darn cameras and technicians again (Someone's paranoid), he tries flashing a few cherry picked notes all at once, along the 'bottom' of the mind's eye.
> HELP US HELP YOU
> 'Why Here?' - 'IGNATIUS. ALSO, ALTRUISM'
> ...And literally all of the notes from the night prior, Map included.
Unfortunately that's not the end of the cryptic imagery, because fuck you, he needs to explain who is even behind this.
Once again, while the notes are at the bottom of the vision, there is the shadow in the Summerlands- apparently shooting golden arrows at each of the notes Gongenzaka did not write. One hopes the message is clear; the notes come from this 'Golden Arrow' being.
Oh, and-
"Do not. Speak it." he growls- though his own connection implies he's more afraid of what could happen, than anywhere near 'threatening' about it. "I, the man Gongenzaka, need 'pieces'. I can speak with the others here as we work."
He is only half aware of how dumb an idea that is, but...well. As Syrlya has likely figured out, Gon has paranoia in spades right now.
Amazing what your boyfriend going closer to TrialsLand does.no subject
But the notes, at least, are getting them somewhere and putting together and understanding for him. He assumes the Summerlands means this is a Summer Fae, who were aligned with the Ringmaster. That's fine, he doesn't need an identity to accept help. He's worked with cryptic hints before.
Syrlya really needs to make himself clear with words, though, not charades. "Let me handle that part."
He's already been coordinating with some people after all. There's a pause, as he considers how to phrase things. He needs it to be clear, but not trigger any sort of belief that they are actually on the verge of a real solution.
"We are locked away in cells every night, separated to no more than pairs. That's important." So their mysterious help needs to know that, if they don't already. Then...
"As is whether we could move during the day or at night." That's also important to ask. They need to know the exact nature their insider is going to provide so they can take advantage of it.
"And... Lambert is being kept elsewhere most of the time, close to the medical bay. Him and anyone else also need to be accounted for." A pause. "And if possible... important things were confiscated on our arrival. If we could get them back..."
He would really like his things back. Especially the bloodstone. But he won't risk everyone's safety for them if retrieving any of it isn't feasible.
Anyway, if they want a date then they need a little more exchange of information.
no subject
He'll hold the image of a list gaining objects on it to show he's listening anyway.
First point- one man cell, two man cell, at night, with a lock. Got it.
Second point- question mark on the Day and Night
Third... THETA, and another question mark.
Fourth- the items...Ah!
Gongenzaka coughs. "...Forgive me for this, however..."
Yep, he needs...Well, feels he needs, to 'charades' this one. Summer Fae is on the mind again, doing something with their hands- First, using fire. Then, using 'Light'. Then....
...The image falters. "....Mnhhh...." Oh no. Oh no. He pauses, and winces.
"...enhancement, and searching," he mutters quickly. He was trying to say what their ally can do, but... "...I, the man Gongenzaka, have one single chance. ...Understand?"
Though, he does briefly flash an image of Yuuya- "...Them as well." They both have that boon, ok?
no subject
"We all only have one chance, so do not worry about that right now." Are they filtering power through those two? He supposes that's not too far off from them trying to work off Ignatius' contract for power.
"We need that information first before we can consider anything else. Try to get it immediately and then find me."
no subject
"....Aauh." Well he can't argue anyway. Before he does leave however...
"..." He flashes the image of Rita- and tries that. Radio analogy. "...I, the man Gongenzaka...need to find others, now..."
He does pause- "...Perhaps you have suggestions, for someone else to share work time with?" Now the image is just that pile of notes again; who should he share this with? "...Or, perhaps," he coughs, "Suggestions to share with someone else, with regard to who can do what?" It's an awkward way to phrase it, for sure. But he legitimately has no clue how else to say 'hey, who else should I tell, also, should we tell these guys what some of us can do right now??'.
And, well, trying to use mind charades has been a crapshoot.
no subject
Hm. "I trust your judgement with who to trust, Gongenzaka. Just remember to say only what is needed to who it is needed. I will do the same."
So he'll handle Childermass himself. And probably Peridot, too. But they don't need everyone trying to play different parts before they even know what those are, so at this point he considers the information should remain a little controlled.
God knows what Strange would do if he found out (ignore it).
no subject
"I, the man Gongenzaka, shall need....something," he coughs. A list- which he shows in his mind. "...Regarding what each can contribute." That one doesn't need an image. But he needs to tell this Golden Arrow faerie what they can and cannot manage on their own right now, skills-wise. And he doesn't know what people CAN manage, right now. He barely managed his daemon after all.
"...We shall see each other later, yes?" And who knows, maybe Syr will have more items for the list.
no subject
He nods to Gongenzaka. "Of course. Good luck with your work."
