What: The carnival arrives at a new location and has its first performance week with the new cast, as outlined here. This is a general mingling log for convenience purposes, but players are welcome to make as many other logs for this purpose as desired.
Warnings: Could be a lot of things, around these parts.

THE REALM OF DREAMS↴ As the carnival arrives at its first stop since its recruitment phase, and prepares to put its new band of workers to the test. In the meantime, there is a whole new world of dreams and nightmares to be explored, and threats to be faced on carnival turf. As of S1:D11, the carnival will be opening its doors to the creatures within, and the carnival will be open daily from noon to midnight, though the connection to the realm will be constant. This is an all purpose mingle log for the full duration of the stay, so please mark top levels with some estimate of what days they'll be occurring on. Please bring any mod questions to the original plotting post.

[ Chiaki jerks awake, having dozed off while sitting waiting for more guests to visit the Gamer's Circle. She blinks at the dreamcatcher dangling in front of her face. (There's another one attached to the top of the tent she's looking after.) ]

Oh. Sorry...

There's no need to apologize to me!

[He presses a hand to his head, feigning the beginnings of a swoon, even as his scarf mysteriously billows behind him. A most unlikely and skeletal of heroes.]

The only person you put at risk here... was you!

Y-yeah.

[ No sleeping (without a dreamcatcher). That was the new rule. She rubs her eyes and looks around at the tent she dozed off in. ] I guess I should hang some in here.

There should be two in every room! That's the rule.

[Is it okay to just leave it at that? No, he can't; his conscience won't allow him to mislead this cat into thinking it's an official rule, and telling anybody that the Ringmaster said so.]

[ She's not a cat. Yet. ]

--Mm, are you another Warden? [ How many skeletons are there? ]

[That kind of assumption is what Papyrus gets for reading the info page. Does she have pointed ears, or was that a figment of his imagination?]

I'm no Warden, whatever that is. I'm a janitor! And that means I clean up everyone's messes.

Including keeping them from sleeping when and where it's dangerous! [That's not in his job description either.]

[ The narrator checks the info page himself. Oh, huh. There it is. "Pointy ears."

Well, she's still mostly a girl!

Where were we? ]

It's what the skeleton with a tail is. [ She yawns. ] I didn't know carnivals had a janitor.

[It's been a few days, but Papyrus hasn't fully wrapped his head around the idea that humans are anything but an extreme minority. He'd only ever met one before, after all! Sure, lots of people have two arms and two legs and a whole lot of features that humans might recognize, but not all. Not even most!

So he assumes she's a cat monster.]

This place would be buried in trash in a week if we didn't! I don't know how they got along without me.

[ He's not entirely wrong - and will get even less wrong as the weeks continue. ]
