What: The Ringmaster brings the carnival to the Summerlands immediately after being freed from Portland so that everyone can take a fucking nap. Her included.

DAYS OF SUMMER↴

You made it! And things are back to normal... more or less. Upon waking, you will be greeted with a clear blue sky and gentle breeze – the carnival has found itself situated between a pair of mountain peaks, with great fields of flowers extending in the distance. In the other direction, you’ll see mountain-top cities and tall waterfalls accenting vast swaths of forest.

Some of you will already know this place. It’s the Summerlands. You game here once to rest in safety nearly a year ago, and now you’ve come to rest once again.

► WAKING UP: Shortly after the carnival arrives, the Ringmaster will send out a somewhat cryptic radio message - but her immediate location won't be clear. Whatever items you had on your person at the time the Severing was broken will still be on your person, including whatever clothing. All of the animals and pets of the carnival will have returned to the grounds as well, though they are currently free from their designated living spaces. Things in the carnival will appeared to have naturally aged a month, as if the carnival was been sitting here empty and waiting while everyone was in Portland. The lawn needs mowing.

► SUMMER CITY: After the Summer Fae become aware of everyone's presence, they will welcome you into their city. There are stairs that lead up the sides of the mountains, but thankfully there are also magical means of getting up there as well. The Summer Fae will be willing to help workers with the injured as needed, offering herbal remedies and healing magic to those that want it. You'll also be invited to join them for dinner, but they will not be particularly offended if they are turned down, for now.

► SUMMER PEOPLE: The fae here will mostly enjoy the company of any carnival members that offer it - it doesn't seem that much happens here besides day after day of peaceful meditation and relaxation. It is not uncommon to see Summer Fae spent days doing exactly the same thing, whether that be enjoying the weather, listening to music, or dancing - the day and night periods may be similar to earth, but when you don't need rest it can all blur together just the same. Some of the fae work on feats of agriculture or craftsmanship, and while there is no particularly need to work in this place, they take pride in the fact that they do.

► NEW ARRIVALS: Though the Ringmaster will not be offering much guidance for the first week or so, eventually the carnival will begin running for a few small performance sessions, off and on, as a thank you to their fae hosts. The carnival will also be open to receiving new arrivals during that period, and so there will likely be some newbies to train and get orientated as well.

WELL. If there is one thing she knows she likes, it is candy. More to the point, she sure doesn't feel any scary bad danger things coming off of Tyki (she should really learn not to judge by that...), soooo...

...Well she doesn't take it right away. "Umn- Akaba Reira," she introduces, bowing her head as taught not long ago in her realm. She bites her lip a bit, looking to the lollipop. "Is..."

It looks so good- "...Can I have that?"

Kids liked candy. He always had a few in his pocket for the town children. He was popular with all sorts of people. He smirks when she seems to go for it and his pleased expression betrays him.

She has some manners. He likes that and he'll adjust his feet and spread them a little in his squat so he's more on her eye level. It's his way of seeming non-threatening. "A pleasure to meet you, little lady."

He holds it out to her closer, "Of course. This is yours."

It wouldn't be the only thing betraying him-but no one expects hypersensitive empathy anyway, and she's a little distracted by the candy. It even gets a full smile, the bird carefully moved to her shoulder so that she can take the lollipop with both hands. Holding it like a rare treasure, carefully unwrapping the sweet.

"Mnh...Thank-you..!"

Well, right now all he is giving off is warmth and curiosity. He has no ill will against her nor will he ever unless he's expressing it towards someone else at the time. He twirls it a little to make it far more attractive until she takes it. It's then that he lowers his hands down to his knees and lets them hang there off his thighs.

"You're most welcome, Miss Akaba. Tell me, do you work here at this carnival or are you a kid of someone who does?"

And nothing says approachable like warm curiosity after all! She just needs to make sure she's never in range when he finds someone to get irritated with ever.

The candy is unwrapped, but before she starts eating it, she answers the question. It's rude (and difficult) to speak with one's mouth full after all. "Mnh-I work here now. I made a deal, so I have to look after the animals here... ...and sometimes steal things, I guess."

She 'guesses'. The idea of theft doesn't seem to be causing much alarm here.

Not to mention if he's ever around Allen when she is near she'll experience a high level of mischievous and potential malice. Then on top of that there would be almost comradely which would conflict all of that.

"Then we'll be seeing each other a lot. I will be a Magician... and sometimes trick other people in order to get things, I suppose." He may as well play along if she doesn't seem all too bothered by it.

Dear god this little girl was going to get spoiled by Tyki in the future.

Spoil her rotten, Tyki-

Well, she'd certainly bolt as soon as the malice came up...but one hopes that situation doesn't come up. A magician and... ...Hmm. She blinks, trying to find the word for a moment.

"...So... ...An actor?"

Nailed it.

With pleasure~ All the candy and things he can get his hands on.

Poor thing. He'd chase her down and try to explain things if only to assure her everything was alright. Or at least he'd try.

"Something like that. It's kind of like an actor. There is acting!"

"Mnh. But Dennis did the same thing, to make everyone think he was on one side, instead of the other... ...is there a different name?"

Ah yes. The wonderful Double Agent.

(At least she'll be more inclined to believe Tyki over Allen-)

"There are a lot of terms for that kind of thing but in the end we are all actors. We play are parts to perfection no matter what they are. Actor is a nice coin to it."

Double Agent, Conman, Spy, Murderer. "Actor is just fine, little lady."

"Mnh-!" And to that...she even gives a tiny smile. "Then...I'll use that one! ...Does that mean actors work with thieves here though..?" Since apparently they'll be seeing more of the other?

"I'm told they report to the same person so we'll be working together at some point perhaps. I didn't see a 'boss' though. Maybe there isn't one." Or one hadn't been announced yet. Right now there wasn't an official supervisor. "We just have to wait for our time to shine."

"Mnhh... ...if there's no boss, does that mean the Ringmaster is the boss..?"

That's probably the case, though they Should have a 'boss' soon at least. The girl is ready for that call though, and straightens practically to 'attention' at the idea of a time to shine at all. "Right..!!"

She seems to trust him so he's rising to his feet and letting his hand drift into one of his pockets. He grins wide with a chuckle as he holds up his hand with a small shrug of his shoulder.

"No matter who our boss is she is our boss' boss. We are working for her." His grin widens even more at her body language changing. "Good, good. Will you and your new friend be alright now?"

There is a bit of nodding-he's definitely right after all, and she looks at her lollipop now. "Mnh! ...We were already ok, but we're okay now, too."

...They'll be fine.

"Good," he says with a rather lucid tone, "Good. Run along now and go explore. A good thief should know what is valuable in this world. I've been investigating the inhabitants as well to be a good actor." And Allen might be here soon since he's been staying in the same spot so he can find him. He needs that privacy.

"Mnh!" It seems to make sense, figuring out what acting and stealing is to one place versus your own. She doesn't so much run, really-she is Beyond just taking orders now!!! But she does nod, and after putting the candy in her mouth, starts to walk for the door.

"...Goodbye..!" she calls out after a moment, looking back only briefly.

"See you later, little lady," he calls after her. After all he's very sure he'll see her soon. He wants to and like everything else in their life they won't have much of a choice.
