⇨ SHABONDAMASHII

Who: Everyone!
When: Day 92 - Day 99
Where: Shabondamashii Bathhouse
What: With the Silver Mirror claimed and the animals of Eden relocated, it's time for the carnival to kick back and enjoy an interdimensional bathhouse and the surrounding festival city. Meanwhile, the scattered shards of the Mirror have an unexpected effect.
Warnings: Dark/Light halves acting weird.
THE BIG CLEANSE

As the carnival recovers, the Ringmaster has brought it to the gates of a famous interdimensional bathhouse to rest. She won't be joining you for most of it, though she will be checking in frequently and available by radio. She's fixed a large portion of the Silver Mirror after it shattered, but it seems like pieces are missing. She doesn't want to rest until the missing shards are dealt with, and the Mirror itself is locked away safely.

► YOUR OTHER HALF: The shards missing from the Silver Mirror didn't just disappear - after breaking apart in Eden, fragments of the object embedded themselves in the spirits of those not already touched by its powers, and those that had been the most fae-touched. That means, your characters. The effect of this, explained in more detail on the plotting post, is that some characters will be splitting into two versions of themselves: the Light, and the Dark. This doesn't mean good and evil, of course, it's far more complicated than that.

Splits can start happening at any time after arriving in Shabon, and initially characters won't know how to rejoin with their twins. Later on, it will become apparent that they need to reconnect via the shard of the Mirror they share... of course, in order to rejoin, you have to have both halves, and not all twins will be as eager to go back to the way things were before. This plot point is optional.

► SPA DAY: When you're not engaging in metaphysical division, you are free to enjoy the many luxuries that Shabon offers. Things will mostly have an east-Asian bend, like what you would see in the movie Spirited Away, but as long as it doesn't affect the setting much, you can honestly have whatever spa-type services available that you want. Food is served both in restaurants and 'buffet' style. There are also well paid sex workers here, if that is your thing, but make sure to tip well.

► FESTIVAL TOWN: The city surrounding Shabondamashii is largely meant to catch the business of interdimensional tourists. There are frequent parades and other events held, and the architecture is very closely packed. It's easy to get lost if you leave the bathhouse, but it's definitely worth it if you like party. You can pick out a few outfits for yourself and some fun nick nacks, but nothing that would normally require mod approval.

It isn't that Shura's looking for some seedy fun, it's just she has a habit of picking out the shadiest looking looking bar. This place isn't half as bad as some other places she's frequented, though it's a little bewildering to walk in to what appears to be an old fashioned opium den. Well, whatever, there's someone she knows and she can make him drink with her.

"Ahh, don't you look comfortable like that~" All cuddled up with a weasel and those lux pillows. "I almost hate to make you get up to get somethin' to drink."

“Mm. That sounds exactly like something someone about to tell me to get up to get something to drink would say,” Lambert says dolefully. If anything, he sinks deeper into the pillows with a sigh.

"Nyaa, but I'm sure the bartender knows you good by now! He won't stiff you on drinks." Get up and get her drinks!! At least move over and don't hog all of the pillows, bro.
whattaprick: (that's what she said)

“I’m a sick man,” Lambert answers remorselessly. Tough shit, Shura, if you want drinks you’ll have to get them yourself! Though he does reach out to push over a half finished bottle of sake. Take it or leave it. . “If anything, you should be buying me drinks.”

With a little struggle, he tugs his robe open, showing off the bandages still tightly wrapped around his chest, then shrugs it back on.

“What are you doing here, ‘nyway? Don’t you have kids to look after?”

Sending the infirm to cushy opium dens to soothe their pain hasn't been in style for years, mister. Shura refrains from saying that, only raising a brow at his display. Yeah, poor dumb man baby.

"Nyaa, what are you sayin'? Kids? I ain't their keeper." Showing her the sake is invitation enough for Shura to join him in the pillows. If he has more than one cup, she's just polite enough to fill his before filling her own. If there's only one cup, then whatever, she'll have to drink after him. He's injured, not diseased.

Considering Lambert's from fake medieval Poland, cushy opium dens are more or less the height of untold luxury as far as medical care goes. Definitely beats the painkiller-less standard he's used to.

He does only have the one cup, and he's clearly been working on it, but he'll accept the poured drink nonetheless -- drinking it in one go with no regard for savoring flavor -- before handing it back to her and slouching back into his pillows.

"Whatever," he settles on, listlessly. "I'm not theirs, either."

Lazy prick. Whatever, Shura didn't like to drink alone and Lambert was right there. She'd work with what she had, quick to pour another cup and down it. Less sober more better at a time like this.

"No, you're not~ What, you gettin' attached to them or somethin'? You can have that Shima if you want 'im, he seems to be havin' fun here."
whattaprick: (what fades away)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2018-09-07 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
"No thanks," Lambert shrugs. "I don't like being stuck with anything that isn't useful or toilet-trained."

Which might sound harsh, but this Lambert isn't all that interested in mincing words. The pile of fur curled up next to him stirs, and a marbled polecat looks up to blink slowly at Shura.

"You're not going to get any sense out of him, you know," she sighs.

[personal profile] exaomori 2018-09-10 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"C'mon now, I'm sure he ain't wettin' himself anymore by now!" Hopefully.

Shura doesn't quite expect the furball to speak, but isn't particular startled or concerned when it does. Familiars usually communicated somehow or other, after all. "That so? My, how long has he been here?" A while, probably. But there was a different between all evening and all day.

“Hah! You wouldn’t say that if you’d seen him with bugs in front of him,” Lambert sniggers.

Celandine just sighs. “If you mean this particular bar ... a few hours. But he’s just been going from place to place since last night.
exaomori: (🐍 14)

[personal profile] exaomori 2018-09-18 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Lambert isn't wrong on that. But Shura isn't about to harp on the kid's phobia, not when there were plenty of other things to dislike about him.

"Place to place, meanin' he's pissed 'em all off and they kicked him out? Nyaa, you're havin' loads of fun, arentcha?"
whattaprick: (eeeyyy lmao)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2018-09-21 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's a vacation. I can do what I want," Lambert shrugs. He'll reach for the sake again to pour himself some, considering the topic's rapidly souring his mood.

"But this is only part of him," Celandine sighs. "Something strange happened ... and he split into two people."
exaomori: (🐍 17)

[personal profile] exaomori 2018-09-30 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"So how joints have kicked ya out so far, huh?" Because it couldn't just be one with his current attitude.

But splitting? Well, this might explain it. Not that she knew Lambert well enough to say whether or not he'd be a pissbaby drunk on any other night. "And you were left with him? Aren't you a devote little thing."
whattaprick: (burn baby burn)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2018-10-01 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
“Does it matter?” Lambert shrugs, then adds cynically, “You don’t even care anyway.”

It’s hard to be parted from him when I’m his soul.” Celandine flips down with a sigh. “Though I’m glad I’m not affected by this either...

[personal profile] exaomori 2018-10-03 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Shura casually ignores that remark of his, instead focusing on the ferret thing.

"You didn't split?" Wait, there's something here that Shura doesn't quite get. Her brow furrows as she tries to figure out just what part of this fuzzy thing is Lambert's soul and why he has a cute furry animal for a soul, and honestly she just wants another drink. Except is that bottle mostly empty? Uggh. Too lazy to get up from the pile of cushions, Shura instead resorts to using her feminine wiles to try and grab the attention of some poor employee so she can get him to bring the booze over to them. Obviously, that's the best solution.
whattaprick: (🐾 thinky think)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2018-10-08 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
Hopefully, those feminine wiles are backed up with coin, or she'll shortly be getting kicked out as well. Nonetheless, Shura won't have trouble flagging a hapless waiter down, and he'll take her order before bustling off to retrieve more alcohol.

"I'm not sure why," Celandine admits, frowning. "But maybe it's because I'm just here because of Lambert's spell, not the Ringmaster's. When we were in a world called Greysol, everyone's souls were outside their bodies and shaped like animals, and people called them daemons. The Ringmaster cast a spell on the Carnival workers so they'd fit in, like when she made us all animals in Eden. After we left, people went back to normal, but she taught people a spell that would let them call their daemon back whenever they wanted to."

[personal profile] exaomori 2018-10-10 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Fine, she has some money. She'd much rather spend Lambert's money, but it was best to keep on the good side of the people here. Getting banned from all of the bars in Shabon for not paying sounded like a terrible plan.

Though the explanation helps, Shura finds herself only caring so much. Outside animal souls! That sounded like a big pain. Well, whatever.

"So like a mascot kinda thing?" She that that as much to herself as anything else, distracted by the arrival of a bottle of shochu and brand new cups. Time to pour some for both her and Lambert. And the little furry mascot? Did she drink??
whattaprick: (🐾 thinky think)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2018-10-17 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Try not paying and then accidentally setting a table on fire...

"Something like that," Celandine demurs. She doesn't really know what a 'mascot' is in this context, but she's not going to seek clarification. If Shura pays close attention, she'll probably realize the daemon's a little wobbly already too, though not anything near her human's state.

Nonetheless, when she pours out a drink, Lambert will reach over and snag the cup with a wan smirk.

"This round's on you, huh?"
