THE REALM OF DREAMS↴![]() As the carnival arrives at its first stop since its recruitment phase, and prepares to put its new band of workers to the test. In the meantime, there is a whole new world of dreams and nightmares to be explored, and threats to be faced on carnival turf. As of S1:D11, the carnival will be opening its doors to the creatures within, and the carnival will be open daily from noon to midnight, though the connection to the realm will be constant. This is an all purpose mingle log for the full duration of the stay, so please mark top levels with some estimate of what days they'll be occurring on. Please bring any mod questions to the original plotting post. |
THEY stop and talk to me about dreams for forty minutes what the fuck
Not that she hadn't tried. She'd lain in bed for at least an hour, trying and failing to find some kind of passage between here and unconsciousness. She was certainly physically tired. And sore. You'd think that would be enough!
You'd think.
But it was well into that hour of trying and failing that her eyes--some of them--popped open. Then the rest followed suit.
The dreamcatcher hung above her, glittering beautiful cut amethyst and polished purple jade.
She frowned up at it. Inanimate thought it might have been, it was still mocking her. Dreamcatchers can't catch dreams if you can't get to the dreaming part to begin with.
Well.
Fine!
If she can't sleep, she's going to talk to someone who always can.

So went the logic, anyway, of Mari walking along the perimetre of the carnival grounds, singing in a high, clear voice. Until she finds Sans.
"Let's get the world, let's walk another way! Let's step towards our one future, walking together along our one road...! Oh, there you are!"
She leans over him from behind, all smiles and not-missing-out-on-any-sleep-what-do-you-mean-by-that.

"Hey, Mari. Sup?" He says he name half like he is anticipating some nonsense and half like he's genuinely interested in seeing her.

"Can't sleep! Thought I'd come talk to the master." She smiles at him in a way that's harmless enough but probably a little too wise to his ways to be entirely innocent. "Guess you're not sleeping much either, though, huh. Having fun yet?"
no subject
As if she's not like this almost all the time.

"Just too excited, probably. This place is pretty cool! A realm of dreams? The unfiltered flow of the subsconscious is all around us! The existence of dreams within reality... guess it's not very exciting for you, though, huh. You're dreaming all the time."
She still has no idea what's so appealing about Sans' dreams compared to reality that he's constantly running away to them. It's one of those little mysterious that she still wants to solve about him.
One day.
"But you can learn a lot about yourself someplace like this, too."
Heh.
no subject
"I prefer the kind of sleep without dreams, t'be honest." He leans back in his chair, crossing his arms behind his head. "I don't nap for the scenery y'know."
It's more of a break from all realities than a desire to explore a new one. In his experience, dreams are the same, if not worse, than real life.
