What: The carnival arrives at a new location and has its first performance week with the new cast, as outlined here. This is a general mingling log for convenience purposes, but players are welcome to make as many other logs for this purpose as desired.
Warnings: Could be a lot of things, around these parts.

THE REALM OF DREAMS↴ As the carnival arrives at its first stop since its recruitment phase, and prepares to put its new band of workers to the test. In the meantime, there is a whole new world of dreams and nightmares to be explored, and threats to be faced on carnival turf. As of S1:D11, the carnival will be opening its doors to the creatures within, and the carnival will be open daily from noon to midnight, though the connection to the realm will be constant. This is an all purpose mingle log for the full duration of the stay, so please mark top levels with some estimate of what days they'll be occurring on. Please bring any mod questions to the original plotting post.

[That... Was an interesting expression. Psii raises a single eyebrow, but other than that doesn't question it.]

Yeah. No problem. Does it need to be red blood though?

I suppose I don't know. I've only ever had one kind.

[The temptation to insist they try it to find out is pushed down as he tries to give some impression of self-control.]

Oh yeah. Mostly humans on your world? It's kind of weird, out of all the creatures I've met most seem to have red blood.

[It was weird, but also kind of cool. He wondered what Signless would think of that.]

Not that it matters really.

Mostly humans, yes. The idea of different blood colors is quite intriguing!

['You can tell me about it all day in great detail if you want to.' he thinks, giggling a little to himself.]

[It's pretty commonplace to him, but well, he is a troll. Speaking of...]

Are you a human? It doesn't matter, but you said mostly so, I guess there's some exceptions?

I am what's called a vampire. I used to be human, but that was a couple centuries ago.

Oh, a vampire, huh?

[That word didn't have great associations because of what had happened to the carnival a few perigee's back, but it wasn't this guys fault. He shouldn't treat Gottlieb any differently just because he was a vampire!]

I guess I should have guessed that considering, you know, the blood. We have something kind of like that an Alternia too. Well, it's just a myth, so I guess we don't have it, but you know. The idea of people drinking blood for sustenance isn't supremely unique. Not that you're not unique, but. You know.

[Any awkwardness seems to soar right over Gottlieb's rainbow wigged head. He's a fairly affable sort, and too busy being charmed by the troll to find any offense in what's been said.]

I am simply pleased you aren't fearful of me, good sir! I have been in the same company for so long I had forgotten others are wary of my species until I came here.

[He smiles, genuinely pleased Gottlieb isn't put off by his rambling.]

Yeah well, I try not to judge people based on things they can't change about themselves.

Ooh! You are as benevolent as you are handsome.

[He clasps his hands together, trying his best to look shy in spite of just letting the cat out of the bag on what he'd been thinking all along.]

[Hand...some? Him?????]

Oh... Well, thank you?

[veinglory]

I suppose it would be most polite to take care of the task at hand in a more private place.

[A deep, courtly bow is given.]

I shall follow your lead, my hero.

[Okay. This feels weird now, but the Psionic is confident he can defend himself if it becomes necessary. It probably won't though but?????]

Ah. Okay.

[He looks around, but there really isn't anywhere "private" in the middle of the carnival. He hesitates a moment, before he just picks Gottlieb up and starts to fly to a more secluded area.]

Sorry! This is just faster!

[veinglory]

Ah!

[While he's slightly startled at first, the look of shock slowly turns into an impressed swoon. He gives a delighted laugh as he feels the wind on his cheeks and watches the world breeze by.]

Sir, you are simply full of pleasant surprises!

[He laughs, Gottlieb you certainly know how to flatter someone. He lands closer to the wooded area at the edge of the carnival. It's away from the lights and the people, but not totally cut off either. He sets the clown down gently.]

So how do we do this?

[veinglory]

[For his part, the vampire seems to be quite energized, in spite of still being a bit wobbly due to hunger.]

Yes, well, the traditional way would be for me to find an appropriate vein. Typically, the neck is preferred, but if you find that's not to your liking I can try and sniff one out elsewhere.

[The neck? He guessed it didn't really matter, but Gottlieb was kind of... Short.]

Um, I thinks theres one in my arm?

[veinglory]

[Aw! He may deflate ever-so-slightly, but the ache in his gut is still sharp enough to override his more impure proclivities. There's a nod as he nears him, holding out his own arms to cradle Psi's.]

Lovely! Now, there will be a slight feeling of pressure, but then it should feel fairly pleasant.

[How is getting bitten pleasant? He doesn't bother asking, just shrugging his shoulders as he waits for Gottlieb to get on with it. The color of his blood, by the way, is purple.]

Okay. Go for it?

[veinglory]

[First, he presses his nose gently against the skin of his arm, inhaling along the length of it to smell out the vein. Once he finds it, he brings his mouth to the sweet spot, perhaps salivating just slightly. He is incredibly hungry, after all! In one quick motion he sinks his teeth in, a relieved sound coming from his throat.]

[He tries not to find someone smelling his arm awkward, but well someone is smelling his arm. It is kind of cool that Gottlieb can smell his blood through his skin. Before he can give it much thought he's being bitten. It stings a little at first, but then it really does start to feel pleasant. A sense of calm washes through him as he starts to relax. Any tension he might have been carrying vanishes. It's easy to sort of loose focus, and after a moment a quiet thrumming can be heard coming from his chest. It's not unlike a cat's purr.]

[Unfortunately, Gottlieb won't get to enjoy the pleasant sound for very long. As soon as the blood hits his tongue, he starts to gag. In reeling back from surprise, he almost trips over his large clown shoes, blood dripping from his mouth and tongue as he sputters and coughs.]

Eh! EEHHHHCK!

[dorkypantsuit]

[The Psionic startles back as Gottlieb pulls away before rushing forward to try and keep him from falling.]

Hey! A-are you alright?

[veinglory]

[Answering right away isn't happening. He's caught, but still struggles with coughs for a moment or two before he's able to gasp out a response.]

W-water! Please!

[dorkypantsuit]

I don't have any!

[He steps closer hesitantly]

Should I get some, or- Do something else!?
