What: The carnival arrives at a new location and has its first performance week with the new cast, as outlined here. This is a general mingling log for convenience purposes, but players are welcome to make as many other logs for this purpose as desired.
Warnings: Could be a lot of things, around these parts.

THE REALM OF DREAMS↴ As the carnival arrives at its first stop since its recruitment phase, and prepares to put its new band of workers to the test. In the meantime, there is a whole new world of dreams and nightmares to be explored, and threats to be faced on carnival turf. As of S1:D11, the carnival will be opening its doors to the creatures within, and the carnival will be open daily from noon to midnight, though the connection to the realm will be constant. This is an all purpose mingle log for the full duration of the stay, so please mark top levels with some estimate of what days they'll be occurring on. Please bring any mod questions to the original plotting post.

We haven't been sleeping a lot... mostly playing games and staying awake.

[ She smiles a little. ] Tamaki... I'll bet he's a good roommate.

[otokogi]

Mmm, you should still try to rest when you can. Maybe you can take turns so if you do have a nightmare, you know someone's there awake, you know?

[ His answering smile is broad. ] He is, he's pretty quiet most of the time and we're already kind of used to each other. I think he misses having his own room, though.

That's... yeah. Maybe!

[ That's not a bad idea. She's a bit embarrassed to ask Yuugi for that. But it isn't a bad idea. ]

Are you two from the same place?

[otokogi]

It's one of the good things about having a roommate! You guys can look after each other, since you seem to get along.

[ He takes another drink of his coffee. Just how much of this has the carnival gone through since they got here? ]

Yeah, we were in the same group at home. I was surprised to see him here!

[waitingforplayer2]

[ There is never enough coffee. ]

Yeah, he's a really good gamer. He's the first person to beat me in, uh...

[ ... Huh. She has to think about that, actually. ]

-- Anyway. He's an idol, too? [ She supposes that makes sense, in a way... but also, she wouldn't have expected it. ]

[otokogi]

[ Mitsuki waits for an answer on the beating thing and when it doesn't come he just grins against his coffee cup. ]

So long you can't remember? No wonder you're running the games now, we'd all lose if we let you loose to play.

[ He means it kindly, though! It's a compliment. ]

Mmhmm! He's a really good dancer, probably the best in IDOLiSH7, and he can sing really well too. I was surprised he wanted to be an acrobat here.

[ She blushes a little and busies herself with her own coffee. ] Maybe...

[ Almost certainly, to be honest. But she doesn't want to say it. ]

You should perform together.

[otokogi]

[ Oops, he didn't mean to embarrass her. Maybe it's just because it's so early. He's pretty sure she's just being humble, though; he kind of knows that feeling.

Speaking of which! He laughs a little and shakes his head. ]

Oh, no way. I'd just get hurt or maybe even get him hurt. I'm much safer on the ground!

[ She raises her hands. ] Sorry, that's what I meant. Although it'd be fun to fly, too.

[otokogi]

[ Ohhhh. Now it's Mitsuki's turn to be embarrassed, but he goes all out, thumping his forehead with the heel of his hand as he turns pink. ]

That makes more sense, ha. I don't think I could do too much damage in a routine like that! Tamaki had a partner he sang with back home, we could probably do one of those songs together sometime...

[ Trying to imagine himself with Sogo's cool beauty is difficult but maybe he could pull it off... with magic or something. ]

Do you think you'd want to perform some day? Get away from the games for a little while?

[waitingforplayer2]

[ Again the question. ] Mm... [ She shrugs. ] It seems kind of scary, I guess. But you seem to really like it. Especially when you're doing something that you love.

[ And he reaches people. And he makes them happy. She misses being able to do that. ]

I guess... maybe.

[otokogi]

[ Mitsuki just kind of assumes that everyone has something to share with the world and that the best way to do that is by performing. He knows it's not realistic but Chiaki always seems so interested when he talks about it. ]

I love it. It can be really scary, though, and people can be... it can be hard to hear what they think sometimes. But it's worth it. You probably feel the same way, though, about your games, right? People probably get angry when they lose but when you win, or they win, and they're happy, that's what makes it fun.

[waitingforplayer2]

[ How does she feel about her games? It isn't something she thinks about all that frequently, really, despite how much time she spends playing them. She has to stare at her coffee and think for a little while. ]

Yeah. I like when ... when people are playing together. [ And with her, specifically. ] Everyone coming together for a Carnival like this...

[ She sips. ] It's... nice, I think.

[otokogi]

[ He's a little concerned he's pressed too hard somehow when Chiaki goes quiet, but he's willing to write it off to the early hour. It is kind of a thoughtful question, after all. When she does answer, though, he smiles. ]

It is nice. You wouldn't get to have so many people around in a lot of other situations, let alone so many people to play with. It's the other people that make it fun. At least for me it is.

[ He performed with only himself as an audience for years. It... was not fun. ]

[ She knows a thing or two about being lonely. But she's also a bit nervous about putting herself on a stage to be judged. ]

So... is that why you perform? You use your talent to meet other people?

[otokogi]

Not exactly. [ Mitsuki takes a thoughtful sip of coffee. ] I've gotten to meet a lot of incredible people since I became an idol, don't get me wrong! But mostly I mean I like making other people happy. The fans... they're what keep me going a lot of the time.

[waitingforplayer2]

That's a really selfless way of living, I think. [ To want so much to make other people feel happy... it was a bit inspiring. Chiaki smiles a little at him as she sips. ] It's a really nice talent, Mitsuki-kun.

[otokogi]

[ He laughs, soft and self-conscious. ]

You think? I've never really been sure, since I get a lot out of it too. But thank you, Chiaki!
