What: The carnival arrives at a new location and has its first performance week with the new cast, as outlined here. This is a general mingling log for convenience purposes, but players are welcome to make as many other logs for this purpose as desired.
Warnings: Could be a lot of things, around these parts.

THE REALM OF DREAMS↴ As the carnival arrives at its first stop since its recruitment phase, and prepares to put its new band of workers to the test. In the meantime, there is a whole new world of dreams and nightmares to be explored, and threats to be faced on carnival turf. As of S1:D11, the carnival will be opening its doors to the creatures within, and the carnival will be open daily from noon to midnight, though the connection to the realm will be constant. This is an all purpose mingle log for the full duration of the stay, so please mark top levels with some estimate of what days they'll be occurring on. Please bring any mod questions to the original plotting post.

[ A hummingbird is, unfortunately, something he has seen before in his own world, albeit they had been tiny little flits of color and certainly did not go whee. He'll look up, distracted, for a moment, though he's just as content to go back to adding details to the dragonfly-frog (possibly not a frog at all, since it appears to have scales, but he's not sure what else to call it).

Or could be, had the hand-sized hummingbird not startled it into suddenly turning and leaping. At him! Or more so in his direction. He's quick to duck out of the way. ]

Ah... [ Well, there it goes. Childermass can't help but frown when he turns back to eye the hummingbird. ] Do you mind? I wasn't done with that one.

[ Assuming a giggling hummingbird can answer, which, anywhere else, is a notion he would find absurd, but here? ]

Hahh? Mind what?

[WhhheeeeEEEeeeeeeee...the bird continues spinning idly about, and it's not certain what exactly is controlling the direction.

Actually-] I'm not actually steering right now, so I can't help you~!

[ An out of control hummingbird. Of all the things... ]

Then aren't you worried about "not actually steering" straight into something's jaws?

[Ohhhh...that's a good question. But!] If that happens I'll just have to eat them first! I'm pretty hungry right now~!

[DREAM LOGIC]

[ That almost makes sense, only he hasn't been out here quite that long to believe it fully. He catches himself on it, that, no, that really isn't logical whatsoever. ]

I doubt that. You'd only be a danger to a large flower right now.

Ohhhh..?

I don't know, I can just burn those things..! It's the flowers that don't burn when I do that!

[Astonishingly Not a Lie.]

And if it's a giant bird-eating flower?

[ ...which is hard to imagine, but chances are such a thing exists. Somewhere. Possibly coming into existence even as they speak, since someone's just thought of it while sitting here, in a literal dreamscape. ]

A giant.... [Oh.

...Oh it's actually appearing right behind Childermass too, oh-] HHEHEEAAAAAAAAHUUH! [Rather suddenly, there's a young woman instead of a hummingbird there.] TH-THEN I'M GOING TO STOP BEING A BIRD BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO GET EATEN TODAY!! NOT AT ALL!!

[She's just a little panicked for someone who was only give a suggestion wasn't she..? uh oh]

[ Whereas he's entirely unfazed by her panic. At most, he quirks an eyebrow at it, then looks up when he realizes there's a shadow being cast over him that wasn't there before. It is, of course, the giant bird-eating flower. He honestly had no visual in mind for it, so it would seem the dream realm has settled on a columbine flower with teeth as the default.

In any case, there it is, looming up over him.

This, too, does not seem to bother him, because he's just going to look it dead in the... petals? Well, it certainly has no eyes. And say, ]

It would seem you are out of luck today, as neither of us are actually birds.

[ To which the flower, mysteriously animated by the magic of the realm, pauses to consider this. Then, it droops, disappointed. While Carly does still definitely looks enough like a bird, Childermass is the closest to the flower and he definitely isn't one. ]

[This is very true, as the flower is realizing. It does seem to give Carly a second look, but she's very quick to point-] Aslla doesn't count either!

He's a demon first, not a bird!!

[The flower doesn't merely wilt and droop this time. It gives a very upset sigh.

This just isn't fair. How could you bring them into such a world!!]

[ Hey, he would contest that it isn't his fault this place is so suggestible to idle thoughts. Totally not his fault. ]

See? There you have it. Cheer up, though. There's bound to be some dreams that will have birds about.

Maybe they'll be normal birds too! Like chickens, and turkeys!

[Completely normal food fowl!

The plant seems rather suspicious. If plants could point, it even seems to do a gesture from the eyes of those in front of it, to where it would never have eyes.

HOLDING YOU TO THIS, GUYS....]

[ Birds aside, Childermass isn't about to stay seated under the shadow of a giant, hungry flower with teeth. Without the original phantasm around to finish drawing, he'll be putting away his little book and all, back into the pockets of his greatcoat, and getting to his feet. ]

And I think that is our cue to leave, lest our new friend here considers expanding its horizons...

[Indeed, the idea of staying any longer with this...Thing is not a very fun one. Carly, briefly yanked from her dreamy state, quite readily agrees.] G-Good idea..!!

Let's fly, now..! [Just ignore the bit where only one of you can do that, shhhh.]
