What: The carnival arrives at a new location and has its first performance week with the new cast, as outlined here. This is a general mingling log for convenience purposes, but players are welcome to make as many other logs for this purpose as desired.
Warnings: Could be a lot of things, around these parts.

THE REALM OF DREAMS↴ As the carnival arrives at its first stop since its recruitment phase, and prepares to put its new band of workers to the test. In the meantime, there is a whole new world of dreams and nightmares to be explored, and threats to be faced on carnival turf. As of S1:D11, the carnival will be opening its doors to the creatures within, and the carnival will be open daily from noon to midnight, though the connection to the realm will be constant. This is an all purpose mingle log for the full duration of the stay, so please mark top levels with some estimate of what days they'll be occurring on. Please bring any mod questions to the original plotting post.

[ Pidge has to admit that Childermass is making sense, though it's hard to let go of the keen sense of paranoia that's developed since her arrival here. It's only been compounded by the changes to her body. Pidge grimaces, but nods. ]

Yeah. Okay, you have a good point.

[ She hesitates, then offers a hand. ]

I don't think we've met before. I'm Pidge.

[ When all else fails, trust in the faerie inclination towards wanting to keep their toys. Not necessarily always in one piece or in the original form, but there's no need to add that out loud. Childermass himself finds some comfort in it, just not a whole lot.

He'll look down at the offered hand for a second, then take a moment to wipe his hand clean on his vest. He did just slide his entire arm through a coffee spill, after all, but it was black coffee, no sugar or milk included. It'll be fine. Only after will he take Pidge's hand for a firm shake. ]

John Childermass. We have not. [ Though he's spotted Pidge a few times around the carnival since. ] I would still suggest going back to try and get some sleep, if you have the time for it.

[ Oh. Last names too. Pidge, likewise, has seen Childermass about but never been quite sure what to make of the older man. ]

Gunderson, Pidge Gunderson.

[ She bosb her head in a nod at Childermass, pulls a face. ]

I dunno if I have time--I have to get over and take a look at the spinning teacups. Something is making an unpleasant grinding noise and since I can fit into small spaces...

[atouts]

[ There's the real trap. Now he's going to be calling her Miss Gunderson on into eternity (and there'll be no mistake about it, either; enough girls back in his old childhood gang pulled that same stunt). ]

You fix those contraptions? Is that really safe to do when barely awake?

[ Well, she's not exactly trying to keep it secret, but if people think she's a boy and it means less trouble, she's totally fine with that. Pidge gives something that approximating a very tired, very strained smile. ]

I have a contract, as they love to remind you here.

[atouts]

I imagine it doesn't include "willing to be crushed by machinery while sleep deprived", though.

Probably not, yeah.

[ The idea of getting a bit more sleep does sound rather nice to Pidge. And if it means thumbing her nose at the the whole dumb carnival, so much the better. ]

Maybe I will try to get some sleep.

Although you may wish to run it by your supervisor first, Miss Gunderson. Who might that be?

[ Honestly, so long as it isn't Gilgamesh, she's probably in the clear. ]

[ She yawns behind a hand, frowns. ]

...You don't need to call me Miss Gunderson.

Of course. [ ...guess who's still going to be called Miss Gunderson, though. ] Peridot? Hm. Mr. Joker mentioned her before. Is she actually friendly?

[ Joker seems the sort with a good opinion of most people, so Childermass is taking that with a bit of salt. ]
