MOON WALKING↴ The journey to the moon only takes a blink of an eye, but it leaves the carnival far away beneath you. The second moon can be seen on the peripheral, massive compared to its usual view. At least when the holidays start out, there will be no notable wildlife on the moon, though this is something you can talk to the Ringmaster about if you think it needs a change. It sounds like this is the first time she's used it in quite a while - it probably needs some dusting off! Claim your cabins, and proceed to... well, do whatever you want! There is no rush and little obligation, besides to enjoy yourself. For real, this time. She promises there will be no vampires. Or, at least, none that don't already work for the carnival. ► CABINS: Living arrangements are character choice for this event, and there are a variety of cabins of various sizes, mostly built to house 2-6 people, though you can fit more in if you squish. They are all made of wood and of a rustic design - no fancy modern furniture, here! Each building is housed with a fireplace and the needed amenities. You can pick up materials to cook with the private kitchens if you like. Theoretically, you could spend the whole holiday sequestered away, watching the snow fall. Some of them also have outdoor hot tubs available! ► ACTIVITIES: Activities are mostly going to be character driven, though there will be some large group games like bingo and maybe a poker tournament happening at some point in one of the festival halls. Otherwise, there is a lot to offer: skiing, snowboarding, hiking, ice sculpting, snowball fights - it goes on! If you'd like to run a winter activity, just let the mods know, and we will get the word out there for you. ► FEASTING: Every day isn't a full-out feast because that would get a bit unhealthy, but there will be a number of specific feast events over the holidays where everyone is encouraged to let out their inner hedonist and stuff themselves. There will be one big feast per week, with smaller but also delicious meals offered in between. The feast dates will be B12, B18, and B24. There's also plenty of alcohol available for anyone who wants it. ► SHOPPING: As mentioned in the planning post, there is a massive market being run by the World Walker Caravan! The Ringmaster has given everyone 1250 credits to spend on items, but there is a caveat - must spend at least 500 of those credits on gifts for other people. And it better be a good one, if you only buy one! (She will ask that you do not buy her presents, however. She appreciates the sentiment, but it seems sort of silly buying her things with her own money! If you'd like to gift her, please have it be something more personal or handmade, but you are not obligated to get her anything at all.) ► TREATMENTS: The beginning of the holidays will also be about the time that the emergency Medical Team will have finalized their treatments for the Prince's poisoning. Watch out for further information on that - and make sure to get treated if you are suffering from petrification or poison induced illness! The holidays will be a lot more fun that way.

Strange will go over most of Portland. Admittedly, he is a bit hazy on some of the details (how the carnival arrived, how people talked to the Earth spirit in the first place, and how the spell was broken) but he'll talk about it for a while, give a fairly good rundown of the event, and mention all the major players. A lot of Strange's recapping will focus on Nightshade because really, fuck Nightshade.

He's also drunk at LEAST another glass during his explanation of Portland because again, fuck Nightshade.

Strange will admit that he knows absolutely nothing about tech but is quite glad that there wasn't really any progress in the Mother's work. What did the tech look like?

And again, Strange will be sympathetic and sorry about the fact that the Mother went through so many changelings. At least the two of them are free—and he's glad Shimmer's free because you're wonderful, you know that Shimmer? You're just so nice and so much fun to talk with and yep, Strange is straight up drunk at this point.

"That's... good?" Papyrus wonders, brushing the snow off and stepping back from the traitorous snow pillar before it can plop all over him again.

"Numb seems better than discomfort... most especially ongoing discomfort." Sans doesn't get that advantage; the skeletons, being bone, are pretty immune to feeling the cold. Maybe truly extreme colds would make them brittle and fragile, but for this kind of comfortable snowy day? It's just nice.

He considers Tyki again, at the change of that laughter from that cold precision, or the maybe-impatience out by the portal a week or so ago. If they've had any brief encounters since escorting Sans to the medical tent, they were just as fleeting and passing; happenstance passing by in the mess tent, maybe. No conversation, between Papyrus putting time and effort into work, and worry, and hiding from worry in work.

"But it'll be even better when you're not sick! I'm cheering for you all. Even if there's not much else I can do to help."

Shimmer doesn't know anything about Nightshade, but that doesn't mean she isn't interested in hearing about the whole thing. She is very interested in the workings of magic in a general sense, and that's leagues different from anything she's personally experienced. She's sure the courts would enjoy being able to do that, to retcon reality in such a way...

The tech has always been theoretical in most ways, so the forms it takes has shifted around a lot. The primary concept is to change Fae themselves in a way that will no longer be affected by iron, or that will be able to corrupt or change the iron when it comes into contact. Metals can lose their iron effects after being exposed to magic for a long period of time, so the idea is to create an effect like that but a much more rapid pace. Rapid enough that the Fae is never harmed.

She will feel the need to correct him and say that she isn't nice, he only think she is because he hasn't known her long. She was personally responsible for the torture and deaths of many of those changelings the Mother went through, after all.

She's drunk enough that all of that comes out almost casually - just a statement of fact. It's the way things are.

Strange is happy to yammer on about the workings of magic he knows more about: specifically his own English magic, but he does know about some of the details of witcher magic and the specific mage magic he used in Portland.

But then she goes and mentions that torture bit and hahahaha what.

Strange just kind of blinks at Shimmer confusedly for a moment. Well, she's not doing it now and that's what matters, right? It doesn't matter if you were stuck in a situation where you had to torture people or if you were stuck in a situation where you had to gas a child and kill a friend of yours, what matters is that you're not in that situation any more and you won't let it happen again, right? Right!

He's also drunk enough that all of that comes out almost casually. Though if pressed, he'll add in that everybody got better.

Got it! [He can do this. He just has to focus, and hee can preform magic. He knows how, all he has to do is--

Get smacked in the face with a snowball.

The next one hits him as well.] Damn it! Wait, wait! [He waves his hands around.]

[The other skaters can go around him, but he does start weaving to the edge of the ice and 9S.] I can see your--skeleton? [Is that a skeleton, is that what he's seeing.] Where'd your skin go?

She won't press himself to explain himself at all, actually. Instead, she will stand (unsteadily) put her hands on the table, and ask him to dance with her. It's about that time of the night, isn't it.

Also, they've drunk most of the Ambrosia at this point.

He will happily dance with her, Strange responds. He wobbles slightly getting up and just unsteadily makes his way over to Shimmer. Lady's choice, he's a good enough dancer that he can follow along with whatever she does.

He does have his wedding ring on but A: Shimmer might not know what that means to begin with and B: that isn't stopping Strange from dancing with her in the first place.

"You will see, you will see," he insists, waving the other to follow. The store-keep, naturally, recognizes who's walking in. He's hard to miss-not to mention, he was in there not five or ten minutes earlier. They gesture to a large-ish pen that has been readied for transport.

Gongenzaka was fairly insistent that this wasn't going to 'fail'. Given the chirping purr that practically 'activates' when the Syrax in the pen spies Zangetsu....

Well, the winged fluffball seems to be rather charmed already, at least.

"I, the man Gongenzaka, have not signed any papers... ...but would you perhaps enjoy a smaller 'friend', Zangetsu?"

Auhh! Naturally!!

[It must do...something, right!? And he's eyeing that snowball you little shit-]

Hmmm....I, the man Gongenzaka, suppose it could be called both. Certainly for us, it was 'camping'...but it was with purpose, after all!

It was far from some sort of 'special grounds', by any official means, however...

[ Thoughtful thinking. He's really trying to understand why he did this. ] proud at giving the best gifts? It's just something she needs, that's all. She reads feelings, so she should have something to keep her grounded before I drive her nuts.

[ Not what he was going for at all, but it works. ]

"Yeah! ...Um! They should be different yellow and green though-otherwise, it'll look weird and blend in right?" she adds, looking around for some fabric. "....Like....lighter colours, maybe. Ones that are happy."

Oh! [...Yes, well.] ....I was just sitting with all the animals, there.... ...I didn't realize there was fighting...

[To be fair to her though, that kind of fight would've been at the purchasing desk, with the paper-work. So all she'd notice, probably, was....well. The storekeep coming in and grabbing various animals.

She blinks, staring as the alien comes trotting along. ...Oh?] ...Oh!

.....They're.... Mnh. They have more feelings than small animals.... ....but not the way people do.... [She's. Not really encountered any simian-type-intellects, suffice to say.]

...They seem happy, though...

Boys. She just sighs, and nods. "Umn, I'll make sure things are okay then," she decides, looking to Foster. "....When is Taako coming?" she decides to add, heading around to look for some sort of pot that Flowey can claim.

Huh? My skeleton?

[Don't be silly, he has no bones! But he understands what Yuya means, he thinks. 9S looks down at the only part of his flesh that's exposed, aside from his face and neck -- right, his legs -- before looking back up at Yuya.]

You mean my frame? Oh. [He's not sure how much Rita would appreciate him telling Yuya she burned him, so he says--] I got burned during the second hunt.

[Just says it casually, like it's no big deal.]

I'm fine though. As you can see [he shifts his weight from foot to foot] I'm made of metal, so the damage is quite minor.

[Though, considering his idea of major damage is limb loss, he might not be the best person to really give a statement on his current state.]

Just at the very beginning. Some kid claimed a moss fox and beat out a ton of people. And the moment I saw Ultranova Starbreaker, I thought... jeez, for the steep price, I bet no one will buy it. But then I bought it.

Immediately. They didn't even know what it is, so I wanted it. That screams 'rare pet'! And it's pretty smart... Nova doesn't know her name yet, but she's fine.

[ Shows off a bitten leaf. ] A herbivore though. Heh.

[Definitely smart.] ...Smart things have more mixed up feelings, so that makes sense, [She observes, tilting her head.] Umnh....Why'd you choose 'Starbreaker' though? Did she break one?

She has no idea what that means, and she also doesn't care. They may or may not end up being the only people dancing at the time, but Shimmer will eagerly keep at it until she makes herself sick.

[Yuya doesn't even mind his gaze.] I guess that makes sense. You're a nature guy after all.

[He snorts, grinning with amusement. He's nature guy to the extreme now. He ducks to gather more snow.] We didn't really go on vacation after Dad disappeared... it was okay, but I'm kind of excited about this.
