PILLAR OF CREATION↴![]() Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds. |
WILDCARD | KOREAN BBQ TIME - i realized the IRL place is ivy coated and had to do this
One can go pretty far in about an hour-but the place she ends up slowing to a stop outside of after glancing at the time on her bike, is deceptively leafy. The area isn't the best area, per-say. It's definitely one of those 'specific' regions of the city, where people of a certain culture group have gathered and made their business, but the building she's staring at now is absolutely covered in ivy. Floral, in fact, which is part of why it caught her attention in the first place. It's rather beautiful...
Beautiful, enough, that she stays to look and smell the flowers, parking her bike aside as she peers over them. Which means that this place, and this building in particular, will be where Tyki finds her.
It's definitely more 'fancy' on the inside though, this place.
Ooo
He lifts his head towards the place she's picked out and tilts his head at the sign. He doesn't recognize it off the bat but it does smell good. He'll step away to try to see a menu posted to the outside like there might've been at other locations around town, "Looks good. Good choice." Even if she possibly had no idea this was an actual place to eat.
no subject
And the outside won't immediately give any real indicator either-the sign is in different characters, and there's ivy..Everywhere. Fortunately however, the door is glass-and if he looks inside, he'll see a counter, and a small advertisement on the table in question displaying food.
So it's probably a restaurant....albeit a somewhat nice one.
no subject
He's already ascended up the stairs if there were any and he's literally parked at the door before just opening it up and letting himself inside. Already his composure has changed from loving and warm to calm and important. It's a pricey place but it seems welcoming.
"Let's eat here."
no subject
And to that end, she'll even smile. "O-Ok..! Um-!" wait shit-
"........Where do I put my bike..........." where's the parking lot-
no subject
His emotions are swirling with sheer excitement from the city alone but there is playful amusement at every turn. "Let's look for a spot. I'm sure there is one around the side."
no subject
Quite the oh no. It won't take long for them to find a spot though-there's bike parking just around the corner, and it's simple enough to lock the...Wheel-shaped motorcycle there. And once it's locked, she'll sling her helmet on her back andddd...
There. "Okay..!" she decides, perhaps a little more triumphantly than typical. "...We can eat now..!" YES.
no subject
"After you then," he says as he walks behind her back into the restaurant. It was always disarming to have a child enter and then someone more important.
no subject
But for now, the care is not only appreciated but...well, important, really. It's nice to be around someone who seems to be 'positive' more often than not, even if it's a conscious effort.
Reira nods, and rather excitedly (which in this case looks more like a somewhat subdued child's actions, admittedly) pushes the door open, tromping in-and what a disarming image it certainly must be, given Reira's own state; the sundress is a simple one, and the shorts themselves threadbare and oversized...to say nothing of the shoes on her feet.
Compared to Tyki himself, it very much seems more like someone wandering in without a clue where they've gotten to.
The woman at the desk, fortunately, takes it in stride. "Welcome," she greets, bowing her head. "Are you here to have lunch?"
no subject
Oh, hello gorgeous. His charming smile is on his face full front and he'll resist setting his hands on Reira's shoulders and open for a nod of his head instead. Tyki was a man that often needed to coral his hands and he's letting them settle to the side with one near his hip, "Yes. This place looks rather inviting and the smell is wonderful. I'm treating this little lady with me here today. Please make it special~"
no subject
Reira will answer that first question for them- "Umnh...Yeah! ...We've never been here." She means in Wismuth, but hey, the answer works either way. The woman will lead them down a hall-where it seems everyone's tables are relatively sectioned off for the sake of privacy.
What Tyki will no doubt notice very quickly however, is that aside from the cushioned bench seats... ...there seems to be a grill in the middle of the table. Or at least, mostly the middle-it's close enough to one side for them to actually be able to reach it for what needs to be done.
...Reira doesn't seem to be aware that's a little odd, but it Might be good to take advantage of that 'is this your first time' question.
no subject
It is right that he's looking around even if out of the corner of his eye. He's always an observer and he'll notice with every room there is a grill. Over a fire, with sticks, and other things he can use pretty well but that was mostly fish that had a different consistency than most meats.
"It seems a little cozy especially with the grill within the tables. Is that for heat?" he says playing a little dumb.
no subject
The heat comment definitely gets a more honest laugh, however- "That will be for your meats; from the menu, there will be a selection of both ready prepared dishes, and barbecue meats-the grill is there, so that you can cook them."
Suffice to say, Reira looks a little Astounded. "...We get to cook it ourselves..?!"
Well, they'll be stopping in to offer help, and there's a button to press if they need assistance but...Yep.
In any case, the kid is already making her way onto a bench and sitting down! And looking around with Very Wide Eyes.
no subject
"Well, this should be a fun time then. I want the best variety you can offer. Price doesn't matter." He hasn't even picked up a menu or looked at what they can get for cheap. He just wants the full experience.
He's sitting down across from her given she might need the room on the other side and he'll peek at that grill with a bit of excitement on his end, "Neat."
no subject
Reira, for her part, is a bit of a deer in the headlights. "Umnnnn..."
no subject
"That sounds delicious. Apple juice will be fine for the both of us unless the little lady has any objections."
no subject
The woman leaves, and Reira continues looking around with slight wonder.
"....Do we really get to cook it..? ...I've only made cookies before..!"
Child, maybe leave that bit to Tyki-
no subject
"Perhaps I should cook then. I have a little experience with fire even if not necessarily a grill."
no subject
"Mnnh...ok then..!" If he has experience, he has experience. "...What happens if I can't eat everything...?" she adds, frowning at the menu. These aren't too much for her on their Own, but even one will be plenty alongside various meats that are coming.
no subject
Man, she's so weird but he has a feeling it is more than that like usual, "Then you can take some to go for later or I can take it if you don't want it. I'm use to midnight snacking. You're not required to eat anything you don't want to, Miss Reira."
imagine it tho, cheesy corn...
She immediately looks back over the menu, far more excited. "Umnh... ...I haven't had most of these things, but I don't think there's things I won't like either..." She has a pretty flexible palate, lucky for her. Just has to narrow her choices down...
"...............They have corn and cheese..?" 1 Side Dish, Down-
lol so cheesy
"That's good to know. You have a choice right now. Don't worry about rejecting something you don't like." Because he feels like he has to say it twice, "That works. I'll pick the, uh, I think this is seasoned spinach and whatever these potatoes are. " There are a lot of veggies he recognizes but it was the matter of what they were coated in or mixed in with that confuses him. He's use to a more fine palate himself.
no subject
There appear to be...well, aside from the side dishes, a fair number of different stews, and things... "...I'm going to get that one, I think," she decides, pointing at a fish and egg mix. "And...um...there's a fish here... ...I don't know what this is, but it looks like something to share?" she offers, pointing to what's labeled 'Hot Pot'.
no subject
"That's fine. You pick what you want and I'll go from there. Though yes on the fish. It's hard to say no to fish."
I looked at the one place's menu for ideas and screamed bc this is the only one with. A Head.
Actually on that note. "...If it still looks like a fish, does that make it better fish than when it doesn't look like one anymore?" This is an important question, she feels. "...I can still see this one's eyes..." At least she's not turned away by it! Just Intrigued.
Head.
