THE LAST REQUIEM↴![]() CY-Ren's planning of a charity concert has been well received - news of bomb threats and harassment from fans have painted her as a victim in the media spotlight, and her generous attempt to make amends is getting plenty of attention. She's been busy spinning things for as much focus as possible, and the threat of potential danger has the news focusing in on the proceedings. The date is set for Day 27 in carnival time. You won't want to miss it! ► BUILD UP: In the last couple days before the concert, CY-Ren will be reaching out to all of her Harbingers, regardless of where they might be at the time - yes, this means that even if you ran off, she'll come to find you! (Unless you're in the carnival like Taako, then you're fucked.) She'll tell you that her plans are coming to head, and that if you help her with one last task then the planet will be on its way to destruction. There are multiple ways you can aid her: you can help amp up her performance as evil backup singers/musicians, or you can set yourself up around the perimeter at specified locations, using your sparks as a beacon to her magic. She's certain that she's perfected her musical formula, this time - when the concert gets underway, all those present with the capacity to be a Harbinger will awaken, and the end of days will begin. ► THE CONCERT: By the time the concert arrives, the Star Guardians will have the idea that there's something unnatural about the way the new Harbingers were made - this isn't how it usually happens, and that sets them apart from someone like CY-Ren. Maybe that means that they can be pulled away with less drastic measures as well, given that the Void didn't have the full right to their souls in the first place. Anyone coming to help (and those who aren't Star Guardians will be encouraged to come as well, given that if they are making attempts at friendship, super powers aren't required) will gather in the area early, determined to stomp this one out before it can get too far. ► HARBINGERS: This is when they will be encountered by Harbingers guarding the perimeter, as well as a small army of void creatures defending CY-Ren's last performance. Star Guardians will become aware through the power of Creation that the Harbingers on the perimeter must be neutralized in order to disrupt the concert - CY-Ren is feeding on their negative energies, and it will make it too dangerous to attack her directly. Confrontations with any Harbingers can be worked out on an individual basis via plotting - just make up a location around the concert and have your Harbinger providing a beacon of their own design. As the concert ramps up, however, the excess of Void energy will cause the newly made Harbingers to destabilize - mentally or magically, their powers will be harder to control, and their negative emotions will be running wild. However, with that instability, there is also room for a breakthrough - for someone to blast the darkness from their Sparks with friendship and light. Now is the time to reach out. ► STAR GUARDIANS: If a Harbinger is successfully turned away from the darkness, they will briefly regain control of their Sparks, and be able to manifest as a Star Guardian for the first time. This will allow the Guardians to outnumber CY-Ren's forces. Their look and powers will still be based around the same Spark, but purified by Creation and aimed towards positive things. Time to win. ► DANCE OFF: Given that the Spark of Music and the Spark of Dance are colliding, it is perhaps not a surprise that this all manifests as a big ass musical number. As CY-Ren and Noa have a music battle, everyone present (even if you aren't a Star Guardian) will find themselves magically inspired to join in. You can dance, sing, or anything in between - the more people who support Noa's side, the stronger she will be. There will be a megathread for this part of the conflict, and at this point any unturned Harbingers will awaken and be able to turn their Sparks towards the light. As CY-Ren begins to lose power, what the players do with her will be up to you. |
Pre-concert
He's already hacked into a lot of the nearby systems in preparation for the concert. Noa's concert.
"Tyki!" Well, he's got time for some chit chat while he works. No Operator to tell him to put a sock in it, too. "We have about an hour. What are you going to be doing?"
no subject
He wants to poke them.
"Hello, Mister Nines," replies with excessive cheer. "I haven't really put any thought into that. There aren't a lot of Harbingers I know. I can stave off any dangers on the other hand."
no subject
"They're still coworkers, aren't they?"
Well, if Tyki will at least lend a hand defending, then that's alright, he supposes. Though he doesn't know what exactly Tyki can do, other than make things pass through him.
"Um... is there a reason you're so close?"
Sorry c_c I got very sick
"Yes, but emotions and feelings are the basis of most human beings and if anyone else can better gain their hearts it is likely someone else that knows them." Though he's sure of at least two harbingers that were new and he might look for them later.
"I'm curious," he says vaguely with his hand slipping upwards to idly pinch one of the chicken feathers between thumb and forefinger.
no rush! get well :>
But Tykii is also being very distracting. Though 9S leans a little further back, he doesn't step away from Tyki, allowing him to rub one of the chicken feathers between his fingers. Unlike the rest of him, the chicken feathers are fully organic and slightly rough to the touch.
"They're not made of metal like the rest of me, if that's what you're wondering. They appear to be organic."
Which raises a number of questions that the answer is likely going to be 'because fae magic'.
Thaaaanks
He stands up straight after that with a twirl of the chicken feather in hand and pokes at it with his other hand, "I was wondering that. The rest of you looks rather real to begin with and I wondered if the feathers were a touch or ingrained within you." He hasn't really seen what 9S is on the inside nor is he going to ask to reach inside of him and poke around. That's kind of rude.
no subject
The exclamation is one more of surprise than pain. Still, he claps a hand to where Tyki had yanked out the feather.
"Did you have to yank it out?" 9S grumbles. "They're still a part of me, you know."
He doesn't want the feather back though.
no subject
"Sorry," comes the automatic response even if it isn't as genuine as it should be but then he can't help himself. With a lower more devious tone he speaks again, "Tell me. Did that hurt?"
no subject
9S huffs and folds his arms. "Would it hurt if I pulled a hair from your head?"
So yes, he did feel pain from that. Nothing more than an annoyance, but it's still pain nevertheless.
no subject
Again, that sorry doesn't really sound all that sorry. It sounds like teasing, "Well, if you insist on pulling hair from my head in return, go ahead. You might have your answer. It might hurt."
no subject
"I'm not going to pull a hair from you! What would I even do with it?"
Bring it back to the Bunker and study it? Even if he did actually intend to return to the Bunker and Earth, that would still be kind of weird! Though he doesn't doubt there would be some androids who would love to get their hands on a real human hair follicle.
"Just because I'm mechanical doesn't mean I won't feel pain. I'm modelled after my human creators, so we still share some traits with humans."
no subject
He twirls the feather in hand and finally gives 9S space only to prowl around him with a slow walk and a light step. Now he's inspecting every inch of him for more feathers, "After the humans who made you. Creators sounds so official. You're thankful, I understand, but that's not all you are worth."
no subject
"Er, it's the same thing, isn't it?" Nevertheless, he tries out the less familiar phrase. "I'm modelled after the humans who made me."
Hm.
"I suppose it does sound less official..." And he's leaving YoRHa behind, so... Well, using the new phrase would make Tyki happier than if he stuck with the old YoRHa ways. 9S kicks idly at the ground. Or... well, as he can in his heels. "How do humans find worth in their lives, anyway?"
no subject
"No, creators are those who make you for a purpose. They don't make you to give you life like Humans do," he says with some conviction. Humans came in all shapes and sizes with different greed levels. This was no different.
He twirls the chicken feather in his fingertips with a light flick of his thumb against the base. No, he's not giving it back now. "I cannot answer that. Every human is different and some never do." Some even feel they have no worth but that is a little dark.
no subject
Well, okay, that's fair. Humans are fascinating because of their sheer diversity, after all. 9S corrects himself, "How do you find worth in your life?"
Goodbye, dear feather. 9S will miss it terribly. (He won't.)
no subject
But that's an interesting question and 9S may notice the way he thinks it over for once instead of actually just instantly responding. His worth? That was a tricky question, "I enjoy life to the fullest no matter the interaction or response I receive from those around me. Good food, good company. A woman on occasion with the right type of incentive. The friends I make along the way despite the fact they will all die long before I do." He hums lightly as the energy in the atmosphere starts to pick up and he gestures with a hand as that feather gets another flick or two, "I love to travel as well," and to murder, torture, and thrive in bloodshed. "It is our experiences that don't make it worth the while. It is if we choose to let them or not. I also find worth in my family and sometimes when I feel I have done enough, a good nap satisfies me.
I think, that when my time does come, if I've lived a good and enjoyable life it'll be worth it."
no subject
Heat rushes to 9S' cheeks when Tyki alludes to sex in his reply, but he quickly refocuses on the rest of Tyki's response.
Tapping his chin, 9S says thoughtfully, "So... you find worth in your personal happiness?" It's selfish but not unreasonable. Humans are made of all sorts, after all. "Do you ever get bored? You said you would live for a long time..."
no subject
"And the happiness of my family," he half corrects. His own pleasure was something so deeply formed within him down to the very core. "So far I haven't. I have a lot to do in my spare time and I enjoy every moment given to me."
no subject
Family... Androids don't have families. But his Operator had been deeply interested in human families, though he hadn't understood why at the time. At first, he hadn't really understood Yuya's explanation, either. But... he thinks he understands, now.
"Do you think you could still be happy if you didn't have your family?"
no subject
"No," he says flatly. "Had I never met them, sure? But now that I've experienced them, know them, and would feel them die every time we lose one, the answer is no. Always no."
no subject
It's hard to have one's happiness determined by the life of another. But, he supposes, it makes things more fulfilling than being alone.
Being alone...
He couldn't go back to living that way. That's why... the thought of losing 2B had hurt so much.
"Well, I hope you don't have to feel the pain of losing any more of your family after you return home."
no subject
It's why if this is all going to go to hell, he wants a front row seat.
"That's something he would say if he was here," but then Allen was one to likely be a result of one of their deaths. "Thank you, boy."
no subject
But he's completely blindsided by the thanks. 9S blinks, before he responds. "Oh. Um. You're welcome?" But he can't resist asking, "Who's the 'he'?"
no subject
"Just an enemy of my world. Don't worry about it. It doesn't concern you and your likely 'kind hearted humans'." Technically Allen wasn't bad but all of the humans on his world were going to die.
no subject
"If you say so..." Well, the showdown's going to get underway soon, so... "Anyway, I'd better do a check on the systems before things really get started. I'll see you later, Tyki."
