THE REALM OF DREAMS↴![]() As the carnival arrives at its first stop since its recruitment phase, and prepares to put its new band of workers to the test. In the meantime, there is a whole new world of dreams and nightmares to be explored, and threats to be faced on carnival turf. As of S1:D11, the carnival will be opening its doors to the creatures within, and the carnival will be open daily from noon to midnight, though the connection to the realm will be constant. This is an all purpose mingle log for the full duration of the stay, so please mark top levels with some estimate of what days they'll be occurring on. Please bring any mod questions to the original plotting post. |

He's finding himself to be a little confuse about whether that pink skin tone had been normal or not. It seems like it's gone now - but then again, humans usually don't have tusks.
"That's me," he says, putting out a hand to shake. "Also known as the Warden around here. Figured that no one had actually explained that in the medical tent."
He's just going to carry on, with or without a confirmation.
"I had a couple things I wanted to mention, now that I'm out of bed, and you're... no longer pink?"

"Umm... yeah. The doctor's goo worked a little better than I expected." Greg rubs at his neck. He's mostly grateful, what with having been covered in burns and all, but he keeps getting weirded out whenever he catches glimpses of himself.
"Thanks again, for... saving my life, and everything. Um, what can I--what do you need me to know?"
no subject
"Eh," he says, shrugging off the thanks. "It was pretty incidental." His tone is difficult to read, as ever. "Point was, I was too tuckered to mention... I'd appreciate it if you didn't really spread the story around. Especially the part where I looked different."
Which is putting it mildly.

He blinks at the request, then nods quickly. "Oh... sure! No problem." He mimes a zipper across the mouth. Even if it strikes him as odd, sometimes people want to keep things to themselves for any sort of reason. He won't pry. Still, he has to wonder why the head of security wouldn't want people knowing he was doing his job.
"Is there anything else I should know? Or--or not know, I guess. Just while working here. I don't wanna cause any more trouble for anyone."

"There aren't a lot of deep dark secrets, if that's what you're wondering. The Ringmaster is basically a criminal, but at least she's upfront about it." He winks. Is it an exaggeration? We just don't know. "She tends to mean what she says. Any deals you make with her will be legit, as long as you're very specific about what you want. Don't ever give her creative liberty, because she's imaginative to a fault."
And that's how you end up becoming a bone wolf. Though, granted, he'd actually agreed to that one after some prompting. He pulls a random kabanos sausage out of his pocket and starts eating it contemplatively, like one might smoke a cigarette.
"You're Amethyst's pal, aren'tcha? She's actually my roomate, if she didn't mention it."
no subject
Of all the directions he might have expected the conversation to go, Greg definitely hadn't expected Amethyst to come up. "Huh? Really?" He hadn't even thought to ask about her living situation. Everything's always been so... fixed, for the gems.
"You two are getting along pretty well, then?" His tone is hesitant, but hopeful. Amethyst doesn't reach out much. It'd say a lot about both of them.

"But nah. Amethyst is a go-getter. Especially where trying new things is concerned..."
Like skeleton dick, for example, or lack thereof.

"Well, she's a good person to make pals with, in a place like this. But, hopefully you won't have to stick you neck out for me too much." He rolls a shoulder in a shrug, trying very hard to be casual. "Guess it's time I start taking after my family instead of leaving things to them."
no subject
"...Yeah, well," he says, having to catch up after a few disconnected moments of delay. "...I can't blame you for wantin' to take a step back, either. Especially when what we're dealing with is stuff like last night."
no subject
"Well, it's not like it's the first time I've been around things like that. Back home, it was pretty normal... but it was easy to get away from, too." He shakes his head. "It's scary, but if it's how things are gonna be from here on out, I gotta can't keep hiding from it. You've got enough to take care of without me pulling more half-baked stunts like last time."
