⇨ THE PRINCE IS DEAD

When: Day 178 - B1: Day 6
Where: The Carnival and sometimes on top of the Heart of Stone.
What: Now that the Prince is dead and gone, there's a lot left to sort out. As the remaining servants are liberated and those captured by the Prince are tended to, it's time for recovery and goodbyes.
Warnings: Nothing in particular.
When: Day 178 - B1: Day 6

What: Now that the Prince is dead and gone, there's a lot left to sort out. As the remaining servants are liberated and those captured by the Prince are tended to, it's time for recovery and goodbyes.

HOME GROUND↴ At long last, it is over. The Prince is dead, and all of his stolen Names have been restored - all that's left to do is treat the wounds and move on. For the first day or two, the Ringmaster will be arranging passage for the servants that are left, all of which have remembered their names for the first time in years. The earth elemental that had been trapped and forced to serve as the Prince's manor, the Heart of Stone, is happy to help for the moment. It appreciates the Ringmaster's mercy, and is free after untold eons of imprisonment. Yet, there are plenty of aspects that are far from simple. There are still servants left mad and transformed into beasts, with no easy way to change them back. The Prince's spells outlive him, and those bearing his poison and his curses will have a difficult road ahead of them. Though most of the bestial servants have been rounded up, and a large number that had been reduced to unmoving statues returned, even the Ringmaster can't return them to normal so simply. The next week is for rest and for settling remaining affairs. If you want to bid farewell to any particular NPCs, or assure care is given where it's needed, now is the time to do it. ► A CURE: The Ringmaster will tell everyone simply - there is no simple way to undo another fae's magic. The Prince's powers were essentially on par with hers, which means that those who have been transformed to stone and those that were cursed into beasts and driven insane are not something she can trivially fix. It will take the work of the carnival and a couple weeks of treatment to shed the curse of stone, and the maddened servants are an entirely separate matter. She will do what she can, but for the most part she is arranging for the Prince's servants to be cared for elsewhere. At least for now, the Ringmaster will be animating the stone portions of people's bodies with magic, though those portions will still be a bit clumsy and numb feeling. ► THE NEW HEARTSTONE: In the absence of the prince, the Heart of Stone will be taking over the remains of the Prince's realm and preventing it from collapsing into void. As it turns out, the manor had been an earth elemental all along - a form of Wyld Fae almost on par to the Prince and Ringmaster themselves. How the Heart of Stone was enslaved is a long story presumably, but the Ringmaster considers it to be a sign of the Prince's own depravity. The Heart will be allowing visitors for the first couple days of this period through the portal, but keep in mind you are essentially just walking around on its body. At least the realm has a floor, now, instead an endless abyss surrounding it. |

He's peeked in on the bushtaur a few times, but never interrupted, that would be rude and injured people needed rest and NOT being bothered. The arm was still missing, and he congratulated himself on even remembering that part accurately.
But some of the rest he's not sure on. The eye bandage he's sure isn't old. He would have remembered an eye patch. Did Gon have horns before?
But he's moving and he's clearly alive and not .. more of an animal, at least, so things had to be ..semi okay.]

Auh! You are... ....Ichigo! [He announces, taking a moment to recall.] Kurosaki Ichigo, correct..!? ...Then you have come with us, as well?

[He really needed to work on names better. Most of the time he didn't care but it seemed he should at least try to remember the name of the guy who got his arm ate by his zanpakuto.
Those kinds of things were important.
Frankly the lack of froofy high-end noblewear was a good thing, it didn't make him feel outclassed wearing a battered teeshirt and a pair of jeans.]
Didn't have a lot of choice in coming along when I signed up.
[There is a moment where sullen anger creeps into his voice - but it doesn't last, either the emotion fading or him just burying it quickly. Had he waited.. well the Prince was dead now.. But he shakes his head.]
That's not important. I wanted to see how you were doing. You're ... one of three or so people I can even remember from that stupid dance.. and I think maybe my sword ate your arm.
[That part sounds dubious, as if he's unsure if he just dreamed that up or not. But there is a missing arm!]

He raises his brow.] Though.... I, the man Gongenzaka, should perhaps apologize as well, for it would appear he has taken 'resolution' to his own hands! I, the man Gongenzaka, should hope at least...that he's explained?
[Your sword is Also missing an arm.]

We don't ... talk much.
[Probably a bad sign, really, considering their relationship. He pauses, raising a hand and gesturing to his own eye.]
That wasn't him too was it?
[Zangetsu's 'resolutions' likely wouldn't set Ichigo's mind at ease at all. Especially if there's new injuries. It could be his zanpakuto, it could have been the hunt, or whatever was causing that strange stiffness to his gait.]

And not even because of a negative mood (if anything it was because of a positive one....). Regardless, he stares for a moment.] Auh-the eye..?
It was the most effective-perhaps the most painless method, while I, the man Gongenzaka, was a beast.... .....from what I remember faintly, however...
....my friends had fired arrows...but it feels as though perhaps, he sought to take the responsibility of my death from their hands.... [He murmurs, straining to remember the words Zangetsu had muttered in those moments.]
....They are not made for 'death'. ...Nor am I, naturally, but... ....Yuuya, and Yuzu in particular, have yet to lose that part of them.
...I, the man Gongenzaka....am glad he was able to preserve that.

It might not be the most comfortable silences, Ichigo's bearing and general air weren't usually overtly friendly, and the frown he usually had was still in place. Silence could mean a pending explosion for some, thought from others. But it does mean there's never an interruption to Gon's words or further questions for a little while.
These 'other friends' .. he didn't think he'd encountered them. Yuuya and Yuzu meant nothing when trying to connect names to faces.
Would someone else landing the killing blow really make close friends feel better about being involved in another friend's death? Ichigo had doubts, and for a moment weighs voicing them.
He chooses not to. That sort of entanglement... it wasn't his business. He didn't know much about making anyone feel better anyway.]
I'd heard none of you were supposed to remember anything.
[His gaze shifts, as if expecting those two mentioned people to somehow be lurking nearby so he has something to connect their names to. They are of course, not there.]
I hope they don't take it too badly.
[It's obvious that he wants to add something else, but after a moment the struggle is lost. It's .. awkward. Strange. It wasn't the first time he'd been faced with the victims of his inner Hollow's rampages, but those situations were different.
Another of those moments where words nearly escape, but are thought better of, before he concludes with:]
You seem like an okay guy. They probably are too. None of you deserved this.

....your partner seemed to agree, as well. ....he did not enjoy that hunt, [He murmurs, remembering the conversation he had had with Zangetsu over all.] ...........That much, was fairly clear.
...They are...doing well, [He adds, referring to his friends.] ....Yuuya still blames himself for my pain-but I, the man Gongenzaka, have been doing what I can to assure him it was necessary.
The alternative after all, was far worse..! [he announces, huffing.]
