Where: The Carnival and sometimes on top of the Heart of Stone.
What: Now that the Prince is dead and gone, there's a lot left to sort out. As the remaining servants are liberated and those captured by the Prince are tended to, it's time for recovery and goodbyes.
Warnings: Nothing in particular.

HOME GROUND↴

At long last, it is over. The Prince is dead, and all of his stolen Names have been restored - all that's left to do is treat the wounds and move on. For the first day or two, the Ringmaster will be arranging passage for the servants that are left, all of which have remembered their names for the first time in years. The earth elemental that had been trapped and forced to serve as the Prince's manor, the Heart of Stone, is happy to help for the moment. It appreciates the Ringmaster's mercy, and is free after untold eons of imprisonment.

Yet, there are plenty of aspects that are far from simple. There are still servants left mad and transformed into beasts, with no easy way to change them back. The Prince's spells outlive him, and those bearing his poison and his curses will have a difficult road ahead of them. Though most of the bestial servants have been rounded up, and a large number that had been reduced to unmoving statues returned, even the Ringmaster can't return them to normal so simply.

The next week is for rest and for settling remaining affairs. If you want to bid farewell to any particular NPCs, or assure care is given where it's needed, now is the time to do it.

► A CURE: The Ringmaster will tell everyone simply - there is no simple way to undo another fae's magic. The Prince's powers were essentially on par with hers, which means that those who have been transformed to stone and those that were cursed into beasts and driven insane are not something she can trivially fix. It will take the work of the carnival and a couple weeks of treatment to shed the curse of stone, and the maddened servants are an entirely separate matter. She will do what she can, but for the most part she is arranging for the Prince's servants to be cared for elsewhere. At least for now, the Ringmaster will be animating the stone portions of people's bodies with magic, though those portions will still be a bit clumsy and numb feeling.

► THE NEW HEARTSTONE: In the absence of the prince, the Heart of Stone will be taking over the remains of the Prince's realm and preventing it from collapsing into void. As it turns out, the manor had been an earth elemental all along - a form of Wyld Fae almost on par to the Prince and Ringmaster themselves. How the Heart of Stone was enslaved is a long story presumably, but the Ringmaster considers it to be a sign of the Prince's own depravity. The Heart will be allowing visitors for the first couple days of this period through the portal, but keep in mind you are essentially just walking around on its body. At least the realm has a floor, now, instead an endless abyss surrounding it.

Ah, right, I saw on the papers that you were going to be in make up......... [Hmm. She wonders, though.] But....if you were able to do this, what sort of experience do you have for other things...?

[ She gives her a couple of pictures from another thread. ] ]

Tea-El-Dee-Rrrrr, in my homeworld there's a grading system for someone who's the best of everyone else in the entire world at a specific talent -- there's a school for that, and I was invited in as the Ultimate Model... or Fashionista, or whatever. When you're an ultimate, you can't rely on anyone or anything to do your craft for you. I was handy with a needle and thread because I couldn't count on my help to stitch it right, or I designed last minute clothing because I could tell the outfit they made would be received as a disaster and my rep would be ruined.

As the Ultimate Model, I'm flawless at everything that has to do with modeling.

[ She bounces back to her 'usual' personality. ]

EHHHHH!? [Oh. OH DANG.] A fashion model...! I used to know someone like that... [She was hot. Anyway.]

Hmmmn....I wonder why you were assigned to make up....I know I've been handling the tailoring work, but I could really use more help here.... though I suppose when it comes time for the shows, we did need more make up people...

[This...muttering back and forth is happening a fair bit. Eventually however, she focuses on the paper.] Hmm, these are pretty good too... You're basically a jack of all trades..!!

Pretty much, when it comes to fashion! What, you need me around other places? No big deal. Makeup takes me no time at all. After all...

[ She points to her picture again. ]

The more I work, the sooner I'll get to look like this, right?

Hmmm, in a sense? [She'll have to head This off real quick-] Unless you asked the Ringmaster for something specific, you can't really control how the magic here affects you, after all, but....

[Well!] Doing your work definitely makes a good impression~! Ah....y-you're right though, I....could really use some help elsewhere, [She coughs, attempting to speak more seriously.]

...You've definitely proven your sewing skills, so.... ....If you're fine with it, then I definitely am, if you take on a tailoring position as well..! You could handle make up during the times we're getting that set up, and then sewing during the remaining time! We're responsible for a lot more than costumes after all, so it can be pretty busy..!

Awww, that's a bummer. A new look like this would be g-r-e-a-t. A new body for a new me!

[ She listens to Carly, quietly reading her-- trying to put on the impression of a professional boss when she was more comfortable talking person to person. ]

Sure, I'll take it up. Anything to kill my boredom, right? Does my payment change, or... anything, or is the contract all there is? Because if not, I might want to ask you a favor. Not anything physical, a questionnaire.

Well, you'd be paid as much as any of the tailors would be... [So....Yes??? Sort of??? It's just basic 'you can probably afford those rides' wages, really.] Really though, I'm pretty sure all I have to do is let the Ringmaster know that you're officially on both rosters now. The contract definitely doesn't change for that-people switch jobs all the time!

Or, well...not all the time, but it happens.

[Uh.] ...........A questionnaire?

[ She listens and nods with her trademark smile. ]

Sure, Boss-chan! Go for it!

[Wait] H-Hold on though, you didn't tell me why you were asking about questionnaires!!!

[Carly you were supposed to give her one....................]

You mean an interview.

For hiring me for the job.

[ She whips out her glasses and crosses her legs, as if she's the one giving the interview with her posture and professional-sounding voice. ]

Please, ask me any and all questions to assess my ability for this job.

....................Oh.

[Uh.] ..................I thought you were saying you had questions....................

.........H-Honestly, between these quilts you made, the sketches you did, and the fact that you definitely worked on all of this alone....

[If she had her glasses, she'd be adjusting them now.] .....I wouldn't really think I have to ask you anything..! You already have more experience than some tailors I've HAD on the roster..!

[ She taps a paper that clearly isn't in her hand, Phoenix Wright style, and starts listing off her resumé ]

I'm well known for my speed, as once I get the rhythm and know beginning to end where to start sewing, cutting, adjusting, and so on, I can complete it as fast as human hands can work without tiring.

I know how to make essential use out of scraps, as demonstrated.

'Deadline' has no meaning to me. All of my work is accomplished whether I have an hour or five minutes to complete it.

I have a cheerful personality to work with and can adapt to other situations.

My flaws would be: I get bored keeping the same personality on at a time, so sometimes I change it. This does not effect the quality of my work. I mention this only as a flaw and not a positive trait as it rattles some people.

[ Pushes up her glasses. ]

Well? Am I qualified?

Hmmnnh...? How can you have a 'cheerful personality' but switch to a different one if you're bored though...that means you have a 'changable' personality, doesn't it? [Carly asks blankly, before shaking her head.] AH!!! Well, that part doesn't matter anyway~!

Because it doesn't mean you can't sew, or design, or anything-I would say...you're hired! Definitely!!

[Excuse her, as she vanishes in a flurry of pixels.]

[ She happily waves before the grin drops off her mouth and she let's out a 'bleh' noise. Some people are too cheerful, and it just drives her to despair. ]
