⇨ THE PRINCE IS DEAD

When: Day 178 - B1: Day 6
Where: The Carnival and sometimes on top of the Heart of Stone.
What: Now that the Prince is dead and gone, there's a lot left to sort out. As the remaining servants are liberated and those captured by the Prince are tended to, it's time for recovery and goodbyes.
Warnings: Nothing in particular.
When: Day 178 - B1: Day 6

What: Now that the Prince is dead and gone, there's a lot left to sort out. As the remaining servants are liberated and those captured by the Prince are tended to, it's time for recovery and goodbyes.

HOME GROUND↴ At long last, it is over. The Prince is dead, and all of his stolen Names have been restored - all that's left to do is treat the wounds and move on. For the first day or two, the Ringmaster will be arranging passage for the servants that are left, all of which have remembered their names for the first time in years. The earth elemental that had been trapped and forced to serve as the Prince's manor, the Heart of Stone, is happy to help for the moment. It appreciates the Ringmaster's mercy, and is free after untold eons of imprisonment. Yet, there are plenty of aspects that are far from simple. There are still servants left mad and transformed into beasts, with no easy way to change them back. The Prince's spells outlive him, and those bearing his poison and his curses will have a difficult road ahead of them. Though most of the bestial servants have been rounded up, and a large number that had been reduced to unmoving statues returned, even the Ringmaster can't return them to normal so simply. The next week is for rest and for settling remaining affairs. If you want to bid farewell to any particular NPCs, or assure care is given where it's needed, now is the time to do it. ► A CURE: The Ringmaster will tell everyone simply - there is no simple way to undo another fae's magic. The Prince's powers were essentially on par with hers, which means that those who have been transformed to stone and those that were cursed into beasts and driven insane are not something she can trivially fix. It will take the work of the carnival and a couple weeks of treatment to shed the curse of stone, and the maddened servants are an entirely separate matter. She will do what she can, but for the most part she is arranging for the Prince's servants to be cared for elsewhere. At least for now, the Ringmaster will be animating the stone portions of people's bodies with magic, though those portions will still be a bit clumsy and numb feeling. ► THE NEW HEARTSTONE: In the absence of the prince, the Heart of Stone will be taking over the remains of the Prince's realm and preventing it from collapsing into void. As it turns out, the manor had been an earth elemental all along - a form of Wyld Fae almost on par to the Prince and Ringmaster themselves. How the Heart of Stone was enslaved is a long story presumably, but the Ringmaster considers it to be a sign of the Prince's own depravity. The Heart will be allowing visitors for the first couple days of this period through the portal, but keep in mind you are essentially just walking around on its body. At least the realm has a floor, now, instead an endless abyss surrounding it. |

At first, he waits for something to happen, before he realises, oh, he's supposed to take it. He's far too used to Strange's brand of magic, but Tyki did tell him that his magic was less flashy. So, curious, he takes Tyki's hand...
...or at least, tries to.
"Huh?" He tries again, to no avail. "Wow, it's like it's not there!"
A pause, before he tries to grasp Tyki's forearm instead.

He's patient as it takes a moment for 9S to register exactly what he was offering and when the boy tries to grasp his hand his fingers are still and unmoving. It's a tingly feeling that 9S will experience each time his hand passes through his.
"Pretty much. This is my ability or magic as some call it here," he says even as 9S will find the same effect is present in his forearm and his entire body right now. His power and magic didn't have to use fancy spells and other things. It just happened when he willed it.

9S retracts his hand from Tyki's arm. He kind of wants to put his arm through Tyki's head but that might be a little bit too rude, even for him.
"Is this something all Noah can do? Or just you?"

Which is true. 9S so far has been rather observant and he's noting that in the back of his mind for future reference.
"Just me. This is my power. All Noah have a unique ability but you'll be denied that information as not to be rude to any incoming family members in the future." That is if they ever showed up. He didn't mind sharing about himself but he didn't want to single out what was most precious to him.

Disappointing, but he supposes he can understand it. Besides, he'd like to be able to observe them for himself.
"I'll just have to ask them myself if they end up here."

"I value my family, Mister Nines. Some things they may not want revealed."
He snorts to that as he goes back to the potato peeling and will hum in amusement, "At least be discrete and not outright ask them. Noah are something of a secret in my world."

Everything Tyki had said hadn't sounded like there was anything particularly secret worthy about it. So... is there something about Noahs Tyki is leaving out?

Sorry, but that is all he's willing to tell him. "It's for the best if humans aren't aware if we exist." Because then they have to kill them instantly.

Though those are some ominous words. Tyki's been rather cordial through this conversation, that 9S can't help but wonder after their last conversation... If something is to be kept secret, there must be a reason.
He can't help but think about his own situation back home. Is the existence of Noahs something to be killed over? If so, then why?
A puzzle. He wants to dig into it. But he refrains... for now. "Sooo... when you use your magic, can you make your clothes fall through you, too?"

"Humans fear what they don't understand even if that isn't the entire reason. They will always fall to vice and sin without true understanding."
But he laughs at such a straight out question, "If I want them to."

"But if you don't tell them, how can they understand?"
If Tyki knows the truth but witholds it, then of couse other humans won't understand!

If I were to reveal myself at home no doubt I would be cast from the social order, my family would lose their wealth for associating with a 'monster' and that is simply how it is. My world is not as understanding and advanced as yours. Even one of these 'microwaves' we have here would scare them."

"Really?" It seems so hard to believe. "But humans invented microwaves! It's simple technology!"

His knuckles crack as he flexes them before starting on yet another potato. Throughout this he's been peeling diligently.
"I don't know what year it is in your world but I am from the year 18xx. Try to understand 9S."

That's before the recorded outbreak of WCS... He doesn't know exactly when all the human inventions happened -- their records are so fragmented, even some of the technology on Greysol he's never seen before -- but surely they have the precursors...? It's just so hard for him to understand.
"That's a really long time ago. I guess it's hard for me to picture humans being afraid of their own creations, even if it hasn't occurred yet. Assuming the same date time system, I'd be coming from a time nearly nine thousand years later."

He chuckles softly, "It only takes one to invent something. When displayed to the public not every invention is well received."

9S' expression falls. "I see... I guess not everything invented is going to be a hit. Not everything R&D puts out is effective after all." 9S kicks at the ground, frowning. "The humans of your world are really missing out!"

"From what it seems the world will go on without them from creation to destruction. I'm sure eventually they'll come around to it given time."
