The journey to the moon only takes a blink of an eye, but it leaves the carnival far away beneath you. The second moon can be seen on the peripheral, massive compared to its usual view. At least when the holidays start out, there will be no notable wildlife on the moon, though this is something you can talk to the Ringmaster about if you think it needs a change. It sounds like this is the first time she's used it in quite a while - it probably needs some dusting off!

Claim your cabins, and proceed to... well, do whatever you want! There is no rush and little obligation, besides to enjoy yourself. For real, this time. She promises there will be no vampires. Or, at least, none that don't already work for the carnival.

► CABINS: Living arrangements are character choice for this event, and there are a variety of cabins of various sizes, mostly built to house 2-6 people, though you can fit more in if you squish. They are all made of wood and of a rustic design - no fancy modern furniture, here! Each building is housed with a fireplace and the needed amenities. You can pick up materials to cook with the private kitchens if you like. Theoretically, you could spend the whole holiday sequestered away, watching the snow fall. Some of them also have outdoor hot tubs available!

► ACTIVITIES: Activities are mostly going to be character driven, though there will be some large group games like bingo and maybe a poker tournament happening at some point in one of the festival halls. Otherwise, there is a lot to offer: skiing, snowboarding, hiking, ice sculpting, snowball fights - it goes on! If you'd like to run a winter activity, just let the mods know, and we will get the word out there for you.

► FEASTING: Every day isn't a full-out feast because that would get a bit unhealthy, but there will be a number of specific feast events over the holidays where everyone is encouraged to let out their inner hedonist and stuff themselves. There will be one big feast per week, with smaller but also delicious meals offered in between. The feast dates will be B12, B18, and B24. There's also plenty of alcohol available for anyone who wants it.

► SHOPPING: As mentioned in the planning post, there is a massive market being run by the World Walker Caravan! The Ringmaster has given everyone 1250 credits to spend on items, but there is a caveat - must spend at least 500 of those credits on gifts for other people. And it better be a good one, if you only buy one! (She will ask that you do not buy her presents, however. She appreciates the sentiment, but it seems sort of silly buying her things with her own money! If you'd like to gift her, please have it be something more personal or handmade, but you are not obligated to get her anything at all.)

► TREATMENTS: The beginning of the holidays will also be about the time that the emergency Medical Team will have finalized their treatments for the Prince's poisoning. Watch out for further information on that - and make sure to get treated if you are suffering from petrification or poison induced illness! The holidays will be a lot more fun that way.

... Yes? [Yes, that would be the gist of it. It's not a really complicated activity, so Yuya's not sure how to explain the appeal.] It's just fun to slide around really fast...? You should try it and see if you like it.

[Sounds kind of dumb. The last time he slid around on something it was in a desert. He was shaking sand out of his boots -- and other places -- for days.

But he really wants to understand why Yuya, a human, would find this enjoyable.]

Oh alright. [Twist his arm, will you?] Be right back!

[He'd seen where people got their skates, so 9S runs off with a lot more enthusiasm his words would suggest. It's not long before 9S is back and putting on the skates.]

[Yuya just raises a brow as 9S walks off... but when he returns, his expression is passively pleased again.

He waits for 9S to get his skates on before holding out his hand to help him onto the ice.] Be careful getting on, it's really slippery.

[Skates on, Yuya's hand held, 9S says with an air of certainty--]

It doesn't seem that slip--

[9S lets out a surprised yelp; the moment 9S jumps onto the ice in a bout of overconfidence, his bladed feet slide out from under him. Down he goes, his butt on a collision course with the ice. If any attempt is made to hang onto 9S' hand and save him from the horrors of wet ice butt, it will have to compete with the weight of his 129.9kg (286lb) frame.]

Whoa--! [There he goes. Yuya's yanked forward as 9S falls, flailing as his skates slip sideways. Luckily 9S only falls to his butt, so Yuya's just barely able to maintain his balance while hunched over. He won't be able to much pulling 9S up, however.

After a moment he laughs, good-natured.] Careful!

[9S puffs, pouting, before he lets out a huff of laughter.]

Wow, okay. Is it always so slippery?

[He tries to get up off the ice using his gloved hands to assist, but his feet slide out from under him the first time. The second attempt goes better, 9S managing to get himself upright, though sliding slowly forward.]

Aww... my clothes are wet!

[Specifically the spots that touched the ice.]

Uh, yeah. It's solid water. [Yuya makes sure 9S seems to be stable on his feet before he lets go.] You've never seen ice before? Or snow?

[Thanks, Yuya. 9S seems to be doing okay, especially since he's not jumping around after learning his lesson. Still, he does pat his coat and shorts down, as if that will help him be rid of the dampness from them.]

Nope. Earth became tidal locked thousands of years ago, so weather patterns got really messed up.

Oh. [Yuya has no idea what 'tidal locked' even means. That's probably something he missed in school because he was sleeping or strategizing with his cards.] Well, how do you like it? Had any fun so far?

[Despite his complaints, 9S brightly says--]

It's fluffy! For something that's solid water, I thought it would be a lot harder. It's just a pain to walk through.

[Well, he couldn't say anything about the snow without at least one complaint.]

Maybe I should get one of those boards I've been seeing people use?

A snowboard? You don't walk on those. [And it needs a step incline. He looks over 9S's outfit critically.]

You don't have the right shoes for snow. You need bigger boots, it'd be easier then. [Yuya isn't wearing the right shoes, either, but he's also not complaining about the snow.]

[9S looks slightly skeptical.]

Bigger boots? But then they wouldn't fit my feet...

[Hm. While he's pondering that, 9S starts to actually skate, pushing off with one foot before placing the other one down. After all, that's what they're here for, isn't it? Skating.]

No, like... thicker boots. With fur and better soles.

[He swings sideways so he can skate next to 9S, just in case he needs a hand on his back to keep him stable or something.]

[9S seems to have the hang of the basic skating motions, at least. The same confidence that had caused him to land flat on his butt is serving him well now; skating is easier if he doesn't go too slow.]

How would fur help?

[But now that he's gotten a taste for normal skating, 9S wants to do more! All his previous skepticism about skating has practically evaporated.]

Hey, Yuya. [He grins.] I'll race you!

Eh? [Yuya gives 9S a skeptical look.] This is your first time skating and you want to race? Are you sure?

[It's not that he thinks 9S is going to fall over and hurt himself... well, okay, that's exactly what he's thinking. So he sounds doubtful.]

Sure I'm sure!

[He spreads his arms wide and just narrowly avoids unintentionally clotheslining another skater.]

What's the worst that could happen?

[9S could crash horribly and hurt himself.

Can he hurt himself...? He's a robot after all. Yuya sighs, bringing his skates to a stop.] Okay. We'll start here and do a lap around the edge. Whoever gets back here first wins.

[He holds three fingers up.] We'll go on the count of three!

[So in other words, nothing to worry about!

9S carefully skates around Yuya in a circle before slowing to a stop next to him. That seems to be the method he'd noticed most people using to stop.]

Alright!

[9S pumps a fist, grinning. This will be just like racing Speed Star, only far less annoying! Probably!]

I'm ready!

[Maybe 9S is just a very quick learner? Yuya keeps his fingers up, curling them down as he counts down.] One... two... three, go!

[And then he zips off immediately, building up speed as quickly as he can to try and take the early advantage.]

[What!? Damn it! 9S swears under his breath. But he's not gonna give up! 9S is determined to give Yuya a run for his money, even though he's only literally been skating for a couple of minutes.

Pushing off, he pushes off, blades cutting into the ice as he leans forward so he pick up the pace.

Maybe he can catch up?]

[Yuya glances back to gauge how well 9S is keeping up--the distance between them is definitely closing up, but Yuya's not going to make it easy. As 9S speeds up so does Yuya, moving all force and little finesse as he skates along the perimeter.

He stops looking back, keeping all of his focus on going forward as quickly as he can.]
