MOON WALKING↴

The journey to the moon only takes a blink of an eye, but it leaves the carnival far away beneath you. The second moon can be seen on the peripheral, massive compared to its usual view. At least when the holidays start out, there will be no notable wildlife on the moon, though this is something you can talk to the Ringmaster about if you think it needs a change. It sounds like this is the first time she's used it in quite a while - it probably needs some dusting off!

Claim your cabins, and proceed to... well, do whatever you want! There is no rush and little obligation, besides to enjoy yourself. For real, this time. She promises there will be no vampires. Or, at least, none that don't already work for the carnival.

► CABINS: Living arrangements are character choice for this event, and there are a variety of cabins of various sizes, mostly built to house 2-6 people, though you can fit more in if you squish. They are all made of wood and of a rustic design - no fancy modern furniture, here! Each building is housed with a fireplace and the needed amenities. You can pick up materials to cook with the private kitchens if you like. Theoretically, you could spend the whole holiday sequestered away, watching the snow fall. Some of them also have outdoor hot tubs available!

► ACTIVITIES: Activities are mostly going to be character driven, though there will be some large group games like bingo and maybe a poker tournament happening at some point in one of the festival halls. Otherwise, there is a lot to offer: skiing, snowboarding, hiking, ice sculpting, snowball fights - it goes on! If you'd like to run a winter activity, just let the mods know, and we will get the word out there for you.

► FEASTING: Every day isn't a full-out feast because that would get a bit unhealthy, but there will be a number of specific feast events over the holidays where everyone is encouraged to let out their inner hedonist and stuff themselves. There will be one big feast per week, with smaller but also delicious meals offered in between. The feast dates will be B12, B18, and B24. There's also plenty of alcohol available for anyone who wants it.

► SHOPPING: As mentioned in the planning post, there is a massive market being run by the World Walker Caravan! The Ringmaster has given everyone 1250 credits to spend on items, but there is a caveat - must spend at least 500 of those credits on gifts for other people. And it better be a good one, if you only buy one! (She will ask that you do not buy her presents, however. She appreciates the sentiment, but it seems sort of silly buying her things with her own money! If you'd like to gift her, please have it be something more personal or handmade, but you are not obligated to get her anything at all.)

► TREATMENTS: The beginning of the holidays will also be about the time that the emergency Medical Team will have finalized their treatments for the Prince's poisoning. Watch out for further information on that - and make sure to get treated if you are suffering from petrification or poison induced illness! The holidays will be a lot more fun that way.

Doll crows at the top of her lungs and face-plants onto the sled, sliding head-first down the hill. She gets a lot of distance before the lip of the sled hits a dip and Doll flips onto her back into the snow.

She sits up almost immediately and jumps to her feet, dancing around.

"Ah!! Cold! Cold down my back!!"

Okay, that's kind of concerning for a moment - then Doll sits up, clearly fine, and Miko sees no reason to stop herself from bursting out laughing.

She makes her way over through the snow, sending up little bursts of powder with each hop. "Man, I bet! You really wiped out there, huh."

Yes, Doll fully supports laughing, because she's sure that looked funny as all get out. It's not like she hadn't fallen a bunch of times practicing, so falling one more time isn't such a big deal.

"'Wiped' what?"

"Wiped out? Like... you got wrecked, took a spill."

...And, in case none of that clears anything up: "You fell pretty bad."

"Ohh..." Doll nods. "Sure did, haha! S'alright though, I fall plenty!"

She waves to Miko and takes off up the hill with the dish again. "C'mon, your turn!"

"Used to it, huh?" Miko nods sagely. Being used to falling down is a very useful skill as far as she's concerned.

She grins and clambers up the slope after Doll, her ears perking up. "Awesome! Gonna see if I can get farther without getting flipped, ha."

"Oh yeah, do it loads! Part 'a bein' an acrobat!" First thing you have to do when starting a career as a circus performer is learning how to fall, in Doll's opinion. Otherwise all of the inevitable bumps and bruises would be far worse than they needed to be.

"I betcha can! Jus' avoid that little bit over there!"

"Okay, but you know there've gotta be tons of bits like that on this hill. But I'll do my best to beat this thing!"

Yep, this hill is now an enemy to be defeated. Once they're back at the top, Miko bounces in place for a moment before climbing onto the sled. "Alright, let's do this."

"Yeah, but I musta tripped over more 'n half by now!" Encouraging. Doll grins and reaches to put her hands on Miko's back to push.

"Three, two, one--!" And Doll's strong legs dig into the snow and she shoves Miko to give her a good start.

Very. But assurances that this hill is super dangerous wouldn't be enough to deter Miko, even if it weren't a little late.

Miko lets out a delighted whoop as she starts down the hill, and successfully avoids the bit that had taken Doll out - only for the sled to catch on another bump immediately afterward, flipping her into the snow.

So, kind of a success.

Doll shouts out in premature victory too, and immediately winces when Miko flips into the snow.

"Y'alrigh' down there?"

Please don't be dead or hurt. That would put a real damper on the whole vacation.

Oof. Yeah, that could have gone better.

Miko wiggles out from under the sled, though, and gives Doll a grin and an enthusiastic thumbs-up in response. "Good to go! Nothin' broken or anything. --Snow in m' mouth, though."

This stuff is probably mostly clean, it's probably fine.

"Just swallow, it's a little cold but refreshin'! S'long as there ain't no dirt in it..."

Don't eat dirt, Miko.

"Alrigh', so that section is no good too! What d'you think about..." She jogs over a few steps and then selects another area about six feet down. "Here?"

"Doesn't taste like there's dirt." Yeah, she's gonna go ahead and eat the snow. Then she clambers to her feet and rights the sled, looking to where Doll is recommending.

"Might as well try it! But this time it's your turn to be the guinea pig."

"Wouldn' be right if I made ya do all the work!" Doll calls down with a laugh. "Alrigh'-- ready, set--!"

She takes the wind up at a run then throws herself and the sled down onto the ground. It's a good run, up until the sled goes sideways and Doll rolls the last half with the sled clutched to her front. When she hits the bottom she looks a little dazed.

"Woah..." She starts wobbling to her feet. Too much rolling, too dizzy.

Whoops, that one almost worked out. Miko starts down the hill, her feet slipping in the snow, and ends up half-stumbling a good chunk of the way down, laughing the whole time.

"Almost got it! Didja hit anything that time, or did the sled just go screwy?"
