The journey to the moon only takes a blink of an eye, but it leaves the carnival far away beneath you. The second moon can be seen on the peripheral, massive compared to its usual view. At least when the holidays start out, there will be no notable wildlife on the moon, though this is something you can talk to the Ringmaster about if you think it needs a change. It sounds like this is the first time she's used it in quite a while - it probably needs some dusting off!

Claim your cabins, and proceed to... well, do whatever you want! There is no rush and little obligation, besides to enjoy yourself. For real, this time. She promises there will be no vampires. Or, at least, none that don't already work for the carnival.

► CABINS: Living arrangements are character choice for this event, and there are a variety of cabins of various sizes, mostly built to house 2-6 people, though you can fit more in if you squish. They are all made of wood and of a rustic design - no fancy modern furniture, here! Each building is housed with a fireplace and the needed amenities. You can pick up materials to cook with the private kitchens if you like. Theoretically, you could spend the whole holiday sequestered away, watching the snow fall. Some of them also have outdoor hot tubs available!

► ACTIVITIES: Activities are mostly going to be character driven, though there will be some large group games like bingo and maybe a poker tournament happening at some point in one of the festival halls. Otherwise, there is a lot to offer: skiing, snowboarding, hiking, ice sculpting, snowball fights - it goes on! If you'd like to run a winter activity, just let the mods know, and we will get the word out there for you.

► FEASTING: Every day isn't a full-out feast because that would get a bit unhealthy, but there will be a number of specific feast events over the holidays where everyone is encouraged to let out their inner hedonist and stuff themselves. There will be one big feast per week, with smaller but also delicious meals offered in between. The feast dates will be B12, B18, and B24. There's also plenty of alcohol available for anyone who wants it.

► SHOPPING: As mentioned in the planning post, there is a massive market being run by the World Walker Caravan! The Ringmaster has given everyone 1250 credits to spend on items, but there is a caveat - must spend at least 500 of those credits on gifts for other people. And it better be a good one, if you only buy one! (She will ask that you do not buy her presents, however. She appreciates the sentiment, but it seems sort of silly buying her things with her own money! If you'd like to gift her, please have it be something more personal or handmade, but you are not obligated to get her anything at all.)

► TREATMENTS: The beginning of the holidays will also be about the time that the emergency Medical Team will have finalized their treatments for the Prince's poisoning. Watch out for further information on that - and make sure to get treated if you are suffering from petrification or poison induced illness! The holidays will be a lot more fun that way.

"Ohhh..." Doll nods, finally understanding why everything felt so comfortable. "Never been ta a resort before! No wonder people love 'em!

"Ya ever been ta one before now, Ginko? Someplace that's just f'r relaxin' 'n havin' fun?"

Ginko lets out one of the soft snorts that passes for a laugh from him, and shakes his head - then stills, his mouth setting in something almost like a smile as he remembers something.

"Never really had the opportunity... unless you count one of our stops from before you arrived, which I don't."

Personally, he mostly found the Celebration stressful even before the vampires attacked.

"...yeah, sounds like nobody ever got this much of a break b'fore I arrived. Or after!" She laughs a little, but it's uncomfortable and nervous. She doesn't want to think about this, she doesn't want to remember that the last time she had a nice thing, Joker was probably already trapped in a dungeon.

She runs ahead of Ginko, maybe trying to outrun her train of thought before it got away with her, and stops to scoop up some snow.

"Well-- no resort, but have y'ever had a snowball fight?"

That nervousness, however subtle it might be, isn't lost on Ginko. But he doubts commenting on it would do much good, so he just watches as she runs ahead.

He tilts his head slightly, that smile still tugging at his mouth. "No, and I doubt I'd be much good at it, honestly."

"So, what'cher tellin' me is--" She lobs the snowball at Ginko's shoulder with a triumphant cry. "Yer easy game!"

And she's scooping up another one. Get on her level Ginko, or you're going to get back to her cabin cold and soaked.

"Hey--!" As surprised as he is (though he really shouldn't be), Ginko can't even try to sound offended. Instead he just grins and stoops down to grab a handful of snow. "Alright, if that's what's gonna happen..."

"It sure is! C'mon!" She opens up her arms to the sky, head held high in defiance. "Free shot, fire at will!"

Ginko snorts, and hurls the snowball at her. His accuracy is actually not bad, but... well, aiming mushi pins at drifting mushi isn't really the same as aiming a snowball at a tiny acrobat teenager.

"Oh! Right in the heart!" Doll lets the snowball hit her, and she clasps her hands to her chest and falls over dramatically.

"Vengeance!" And in the next second she's flipped back onto her feet and is gathering up snow to fire another snowball back.

That gets another burst of laughter, and as Doll jumps back upright Ginko starts to move. He runs to the side, scooping up another handful of snow to start packing together.

"Seriously, you've really got an unfair advantage here!"

"Oh yeah?" Doll throws her latest ball, but it flies wild and falls apart-- too rushed, not packed enough. "How's that?"

Ginko reflexively flinches away from the snowball, then grins when it doesn't reach him. "--Alright, maybe it's a little more even than I thought."

He throws his own snowball in return, and it holds together, though his aim is a little more rushed this time.

Doll is busy trying to pack her snowball more tightly this time, and shrieks and laughs when the ball hits her in the hip. Then she's back up throwing again, this one with more structural integrity and better aim.

"Naw, 'm clearly the best at this!" She really isn't, but unfounded boasting is part of the game, right?

Ah, yep, that one smacks Ginko in the ribs. He ducks down to grab more snow, but, with his next projectile not finished yet, he can mostly keep trying to run away in case she beats him to throwing another one.

"Hey, which is it? Gotta know if I have a chance here or not, I don't want to get my expectations thrown off."

"Aw c'mon Ginko, talkin' yerself up is part'a th'game!" Doll straightens up with another ball in hand, but is opting to lecture Ginko instead of throwing immediately.

"Anybody c'n do this! S'what makes it so silly when people say they're really good at it. I mean, I guess if they were like... baseball players that'd be somethin'."

"Sounds like one more part of it I'll be bad at." However true that statement may be, his grin makes it pretty clear that, in this particular instance, it's more a joke than genuine self-deprecation.

Hopefully, though, she's not expecting him not to take that pause as a chance to throw his now-prepared snowball at her. "--I dunno, I'd say someone could definitely be good or bad at this. There are plenty of different skills involved - speed, manual dexterity, agility, and so on. Not to mention figuring out how to strategize against your opponent."

He's... he actually is having fun, promise, this is just how he is.

She is in fact wondering what Ginko would look like as a baseball player, what with his hooves and horns and would he have to wear special shoes? The rest of Ginko's throws have been pretty manageable, which is probably why she isn't paying too much attention, but she turns her head right into this one and gets hit clean in the bangs-- or really, the eye underneath them.

Doll drops her ball and yelps in surprise. It's cold, yes, but the snow on the gems slowly covering her scarred face pack an extra, conductive wallop of cold and Doll has to grit her teeth and hold her face. All told, it looks like she's been hurt instead of trying to warm her frozen, very tender scar.

Any satisfaction Ginko may have gained at hitting his target vanishes the moment Doll's hands go to her face. He starts through the snow right away, his ears pinned back against his head. Dammit this is why he doesn't play games like this--

"Are you okay?!" Once he reaches her, he rests a hand gently on her shoulder, not actually taking hold. "Let me see."

"'M fine! 'M okay!" Doll forces out a laugh as she continues to rub at her eye, realizing that the wet glove she's wearing isn't helping. She pulls off the glove and covers the whole area with her hand. "S' jus' cold, 'm fine. Good throw!"

Ginko lets his hand drop from her shoulder, but his ears tilt back as he examines her face. It could be that she really isn't hurt, but-- either way, she's certainly acting odd. Which is concerning in itself.

"Are you sure you're alright, Doll? If it hit you in the eye, you really should have that checked out just to be sure."

"It's fine!" Doll turns away from Ginko, still cradling her face in her hand, and immediately regrets raising her voice at him. It's not his fault she didn't pay attention and got hit in the face. He didn't deserve to be snapped at.

"...sorry, I didn' mean ta, ta bark at ya like that," Doll clears her throat and turns back to him, hand still over her face. "I got a. A scar here, don' like people lookin' at it."

He starts slightly, his eye going wide for a moment - but it only takes him a moment to relax again. His brow creases as she explains, and he gives a small nod. This... is actually starting to make a lot of sense.

"...I see." He glances away, raising a hand to rub at the back of his neck. "Sorry. I, uh... I can understand that. Just didn't realize."

"I hide it pretty good, so how could ya know?" She pulls her hand away and winces. It's still cold and wet, the skin feels like it's pulling tighter over her face than is usual. "Hey Ginko, can we go inside? 'M real cold now."

"Fair enough."

He nods, his shoulders slumping - then pulls the scarf from around his neck and offers it to her. Even if she's already pretty bundled up, maybe it can help some. "Let's go."

She takes the scarf and wraps it around her face-- though she'd have to wrap it all the way around her eyes to make it really worth it, but she makes do with what she has. Doll also takes the opportunity to take Ginko's hand again, looking very contrite about her earlier outburst.

"Hot chocolate, yeah? Then um. If ya. Wanted ta make sure m'eye's okay..."
