MOON WALKING↴![]() The journey to the moon only takes a blink of an eye, but it leaves the carnival far away beneath you. The second moon can be seen on the peripheral, massive compared to its usual view. At least when the holidays start out, there will be no notable wildlife on the moon, though this is something you can talk to the Ringmaster about if you think it needs a change. It sounds like this is the first time she's used it in quite a while - it probably needs some dusting off! Claim your cabins, and proceed to... well, do whatever you want! There is no rush and little obligation, besides to enjoy yourself. For real, this time. She promises there will be no vampires. Or, at least, none that don't already work for the carnival. ► CABINS: Living arrangements are character choice for this event, and there are a variety of cabins of various sizes, mostly built to house 2-6 people, though you can fit more in if you squish. They are all made of wood and of a rustic design - no fancy modern furniture, here! Each building is housed with a fireplace and the needed amenities. You can pick up materials to cook with the private kitchens if you like. Theoretically, you could spend the whole holiday sequestered away, watching the snow fall. Some of them also have outdoor hot tubs available! ► ACTIVITIES: Activities are mostly going to be character driven, though there will be some large group games like bingo and maybe a poker tournament happening at some point in one of the festival halls. Otherwise, there is a lot to offer: skiing, snowboarding, hiking, ice sculpting, snowball fights - it goes on! If you'd like to run a winter activity, just let the mods know, and we will get the word out there for you. ► FEASTING: Every day isn't a full-out feast because that would get a bit unhealthy, but there will be a number of specific feast events over the holidays where everyone is encouraged to let out their inner hedonist and stuff themselves. There will be one big feast per week, with smaller but also delicious meals offered in between. The feast dates will be B12, B18, and B24. There's also plenty of alcohol available for anyone who wants it. ► SHOPPING: As mentioned in the planning post, there is a massive market being run by the World Walker Caravan! The Ringmaster has given everyone 1250 credits to spend on items, but there is a caveat - must spend at least 500 of those credits on gifts for other people. And it better be a good one, if you only buy one! (She will ask that you do not buy her presents, however. She appreciates the sentiment, but it seems sort of silly buying her things with her own money! If you'd like to gift her, please have it be something more personal or handmade, but you are not obligated to get her anything at all.) ► TREATMENTS: The beginning of the holidays will also be about the time that the emergency Medical Team will have finalized their treatments for the Prince's poisoning. Watch out for further information on that - and make sure to get treated if you are suffering from petrification or poison induced illness! The holidays will be a lot more fun that way. |

No matter how Herbert discovers he's missing Tyki isn't drowning at least even if he might not be aware of that. Oops. One day he might listen.
no subject
He struggles out of his overcoat, and then his suit jacket, tossing both over by the chair before reaching into the hot tub in his shirt sleeves, trying to grab at Tyki. Immediately, he misses, or he thinks he does, anyway, hands waving through Tyki. His fingers grasp through the slime as he tries to get a hold of Tyki who is, somehow, unreachable despite being perfectly visible at the bottom of the hot tub, Herbert leaning in, up on one toe to try and reach him.
no subject
Herbert might find difficulty latching on with that tingly sensation until it starts to bother Tyki and he's somewhat jostled awake. Bubbles escape to the surface with a pop as Herbert finds holding all of a sudden somewhere on Tyki's back. He can't exactly choose not to touch the petrification and with the feeling of being touch his whole body deactivates all at once. Tyki's not exactly helping with hefting himself out of the slime but he'll make a grunt once he can breathe properly out of the slime, "Oi...everyone is such rude awakeners." Tyki, that isn't even a word.
no subject
Leaving the one hand on Tyki in case moving it makes him go incorporeal again, Herbert reaches for one of Tyki's arms with the other hand and hooks under it before moving the first hand to do the same on the other side. He hasn't got enough leverage to just pull up considering his height so he uses his weight to come down as he pulls, elbows on the side of the hot tub. Tyki is waterlogged and heavy, potentially still unconscious, a dead weight Herbert has to drag up. With the side to brace his arms against he finally manages a bicep curl and as Tyki breaks the surface... he talks.
Herbert honestly isn't immediately sure whether to feel relieved he isn't going to be forced to perform CPR or irritated that Tyki was apparently fine and made him go through all that effort anyway. After a moment, he unsurprisingly settles on the latter, letting go and straightening once he's sure Tyki won't just slide right back down.
"It would help in future if you, informed us of any inhuman aspects we need to take into consideration," he grouses, "such as not requiring respiration or a tendency to shift incorporeal. I can't know if the medicinal bath will work if it...is through instead of on the infection as it wasn't something I knew I'd have to test for!"
no subject
His eye cracks open, one and then the other in an uncoordinated manner, and it takes him a second to even realize he's properly awake. He hasn't been asleep for long and already he feels like all of his energy got knocked right out of him. He snorts rudely and lifts his hand out of the slime bath to wave in an uncaring way. Yet his fingers are already counting for him. His half grin is lazy.
"One, you're too loud. Two, while you do have a very nice jawline you're not a woman nor handsome enough for for me to allow you to put your mouth anywhere near mine. Three, you're way too bossy. Four, several people know I am capable of ...whatever you called it. It's not my fault if you are misinformed. And five.... I'm a little thirsty."
no subject
"I'll remember in future: if cardiac arrest occurs and a model trained in CPR isn't present you'd prefer to die. Should I have you sign a waver?" He scowls for a moment and then reaches out again to rest his hands on the edge of the hot tub, just in case he has to lunge for Tyki again.
"How long... have you been in there--has the stone healed yet?"
no subject
He reaches up to poke Herbert's nose at him being so snooty and rude, "Well, if I'm going to die and I can't get someone at least decent looking then maybe I shouldn't live at all." Yet he snorts again at such an offhanded comment, "It would take a lot to stop my heart."
At his more serious question he plants a hand on the edge of the tub and when it goes right through it Herbert will find him grasping for the edge with some failed attempts here and there. It's only when he does grab it that he'll push himself up and out so he can sit on the edge. His manticore wings stretch outwards with a faint twitch at not having been able to move them with the petrification, "You tell me, Mister Bossy and Rude."
no subject
Anyway, Herbert's eyes cross slightly and he makes a face as Tyki whimsically boops his nose and is just generally whimsical at him. This is exactly the kind of person who ignores the instruction of medics. He's not sure, however, whether to take his last whimsical comment as drunken boasting, or something literal he ought to note down. He'll note it down, he thinks. Just in case.
Also, he's starting to get kind of cold now? But he'll ruin his jacket, putting it on like this, and besides, he doesn't want to have to dig Tyki up from the bottom again. But then, Tyki pulls himself out, at least, so he backs away to at least grab his overcoat from the snow, pulling it over his own wet shoulders. That inconsistent drunk control over what is evidently a power Tyki possesses is something to note as well.
"West," he corrects. "Herbert West." Reaching out, he prods fingers firmly along Tyki's back where stone used to be, feeling for lumps under the skin around the wings. That's something he understands and knows how to find, unlike these wings. He'll have to learn about animal parts, he's finding. It will make working here easier.
no subject
The only real thing to note is the angry and thick scars that stretch down Tyki's back, around his side, and across his front. Following the pattern it looks as if he was once cleaved in half and while the damage is significant on both sides his front has the thicker portions.
"What kind of herb?" he asks as if all he heard was the word Herb in general. Sorry, he's just not paying that much attention which is likely why Herbert was getting away with touching Tyki at all. His wings are reacting as they raise with each touch to his back. Slowly, he's getting a little unnerved. Ginko had at least asked. Then again, Tyki had somewhat invited the unwanted touch.
no subject
That determined, he removes his hands and wipes them off on his trousers...and then after some wrinkling of his nose, pulls the heel of his hand down over it in an attempt to remove the slime. It's mostly effective, even if his sleeves are still dripping with it.
"West," he responds, flatly. Like he hasn't heard that one before. He skipped two grades, he was a tiny kid among assholes, step it up, Tyki. Ask him if he's a weed. He enunciates louder this time, his jaw working around the words. "Heeeerbert West. What kind of, tea are you?"
no subject
See, if he was trying to insult him he would be far more devious than that. Tyki had a way of getting under someone's skin literally and metaphorically. His gifted silvertongue and probing often did the job. Right now he's just grasping for straws so it's kind of pathetic.
"East?" he responds again as if it is a game, "Herbert West sounds far too official. Pick something else." He rises to his feet finally and looks around for his clothes as that slime starts to fall off his body in globs now that his power has activated again and it can no longer touch him.
no subject
At least Tyki has interesting powers. The slime hasn't reacted like that to anyone else.
no subject
"Herbert. Heeeerbert. Bert. Berty. Herbt," comes the sounding of his name. He makes a face at that just for a couple of seconds and then just grins again, "Eh, whatever you say, Mister Official."
no subject
"You should...get inside," he suggests. "Put your clothes on in your cabin."
no subject
"Aww, are you worried about me, Heeeeerbert?" It's a shame he won't make it back to his cabin from here.
no subject
"I'm...responsible for your well-being," he settles on. "It would, reflect poorly on the Cure Team if someone died during the healing process, I'm sure you can agree." He is absolutely not helping Tyki put his pants on. That would be the last straw.
no subject
"You mean it is your job," he corrects him. He would go on about how he got himself into this mess but right now he wasn't that somber. "Though it wouldn't be your job anymore if I suddenly died from your slime." It's okay, he's gotten his pants on at least, even if not zipped up quite yet, and now he was fondling around for his shirt.
no subject
"I told all of you to, avoid the cures in conjunction." Bending down, he'll attempt to grab Tyki's shirt and drop it in his lap. Speed up the process.
no subject
"No, if I die from anything it'll be the soul poison or being poisoned from the cure," he says again more firmly as he sneakily feeds him information bit by bit. He's making him work for it. He laughs suddenly as his shirt is flopped down and he fiddles with a sleeve as he talks, "Oh? Is that what you said with all of that fancy talk? Besides, I remember you 'advising' us not directly saying we shouldn't. Or else 'make sure we're supervised', correct?"
no subject
There are so many people here who will take any leeway as an excuse. Herbert will have to be very careful with his words, apparently. How tedious. He wipes his hands on his trousers, attempting to remove the water that's dripped down from his sleeves.
"Are you immune to...cold as well as drowning?" Simple words, and impatient ones. "Do you, even need further supervision?"
no subject
With his pants on and his shirt now haphazardly buttoned wrong in every direction he's attempting to rise to his feet all over again. It was just the matter of toeing on his shoes and shrugging his coat onto his body with a flailing arm.
"Not immune. I cheat," is his vague answer. "You're entirely human. You're not." It's why he's reaching out to grab Herbert's sleeve and drag his hand down it. If Herbert allows the touch he'll find him pawing at his arm until it actually makes contact and with one long drag he touches the watery slime and not his shirt or arm. All of it just slumps to the floor in an instant and Herbert will find a dry sleeve.
Except that's just one sleeve and he might forget about the other one. "I just need to get home."
no subject
But someone else who isn't human... It's hard to tell with people as they are, here, but he'll make a mental note of that. Herbert assumes he's going to be used for steadying, and being as that's arguably his job right now, he allows it. His eyes widen and brows furrow with interest as Tyki somehow manages to pull the slime out of his shirt.
"Where are you staying?" he asks. He feels more generous about leading Tyki back to his cabin if he can maybe fish some information about his magic out of him at the same time.
no subject
It's not as if everyone could see souls like Tyki can. He knows what a human soul is and that was the extent of that. He could tell if someone was human or not and he'd learn over time what other souls looked like.
"...in a cabin? Somewhere over there," he says as he points to literally all of the cabins. "But don't worry. I have a guide~" To which he'll open his palm to reveal a sudden purplish black butterfly with poker faces on the wing tips. "He can lead me home."
