⇨ THE LUNAR SOLSTICE

Who: Everyone!
When: Winter Breaks: Day 6 - Day 25
Where: THE MOON
What: The carnival journeys to one of its moons to celebrate the Lunar Solstice. More information here.
Warnings: Winter fun.

MOON WALKING

The journey to the moon only takes a blink of an eye, but it leaves the carnival far away beneath you. The second moon can be seen on the peripheral, massive compared to its usual view. At least when the holidays start out, there will be no notable wildlife on the moon, though this is something you can talk to the Ringmaster about if you think it needs a change. It sounds like this is the first time she's used it in quite a while - it probably needs some dusting off!

Claim your cabins, and proceed to... well, do whatever you want! There is no rush and little obligation, besides to enjoy yourself. For real, this time. She promises there will be no vampires. Or, at least, none that don't already work for the carnival.

CABINS: Living arrangements are character choice for this event, and there are a variety of cabins of various sizes, mostly built to house 2-6 people, though you can fit more in if you squish. They are all made of wood and of a rustic design - no fancy modern furniture, here! Each building is housed with a fireplace and the needed amenities. You can pick up materials to cook with the private kitchens if you like. Theoretically, you could spend the whole holiday sequestered away, watching the snow fall. Some of them also have outdoor hot tubs available!

ACTIVITIES: Activities are mostly going to be character driven, though there will be some large group games like bingo and maybe a poker tournament happening at some point in one of the festival halls. Otherwise, there is a lot to offer: skiing, snowboarding, hiking, ice sculpting, snowball fights - it goes on! If you'd like to run a winter activity, just let the mods know, and we will get the word out there for you.

FEASTING: Every day isn't a full-out feast because that would get a bit unhealthy, but there will be a number of specific feast events over the holidays where everyone is encouraged to let out their inner hedonist and stuff themselves. There will be one big feast per week, with smaller but also delicious meals offered in between. The feast dates will be B12, B18, and B24. There's also plenty of alcohol available for anyone who wants it.

SHOPPING: As mentioned in the planning post, there is a massive market being run by the World Walker Caravan! The Ringmaster has given everyone 1250 credits to spend on items, but there is a caveat - must spend at least 500 of those credits on gifts for other people. And it better be a good one, if you only buy one! (She will ask that you do not buy her presents, however. She appreciates the sentiment, but it seems sort of silly buying her things with her own money! If you'd like to gift her, please have it be something more personal or handmade, but you are not obligated to get her anything at all.)

TREATMENTS: The beginning of the holidays will also be about the time that the emergency Medical Team will have finalized their treatments for the Prince's poisoning. Watch out for further information on that - and make sure to get treated if you are suffering from petrification or poison induced illness! The holidays will be a lot more fun that way.

[Anghel gathers up more snows and begins forming a pile of snowballs that he can throw. This is clearly a test of Anghel's abilities as a warrior and Anghel is determined to show that he is a worthy opponent.]

Hyaaah!

[Snow flies to Gongenzaka's left. Anghel resolves to train harder in the future.]
betheman: (WINKY FACE-)

'dont drink and snowfight, kids'

HOHHH! [A hit! ...Not that it is much, sadly, as one can't really change the maximum amount of snow they can throw. Still, Gongenzaka seems amused.] A good blow..!

However I, the man Gongenzaka, will certainly have my own strike land true..!

[So he says, but this time the snow blast he sends could well be aimed more Above Anghel than anything...]

[Even so, Anghel ends up trying to dodge and falls into the snow. And he doesn't have the excuse of being drunk. He spits snow out of his beak as he jumps up again, waving his wings around. After a few moments he grabs another snowball and tosses it haphazardly.]
betheman: (MMMMMTHAT LOOKS BAD)

[In Anghel's defense, pigeons were not built for snow! But fortunately for him, hitting Gongenzaka is like aiming at a barn-just about everything he throws hits, even if the giant isn't particularly phased by it at all.

He does, however, seem to be tiring. He's been at this a while..!! Which means he's huffing, and puffing, and...
]

AH- [Getting hit again...] Hahhh...A...A break, perhaps.... A moment of rest, if you would..!

[Anghel freezes as he considers. On one had, the Paralyzing Cold is sapping his strength, making it all but impossible to win this battle. On the other hand, wouldn't it be cowardly of Anghel to back down now? The Crimson Anghel must be capable of enduring all in order to achive his victory.]

[It's the cold that wins out in the end. Hasn't Anghel opponent already stated this is but a test? Perhaps this newest change is yet another test of Anghel's worthiness.]

Very well. I shall agree to this truce.

[He drops the snow he was holding in his wing.] Have the curses of the Gelid Demons also robbed you of your strength?
betheman: (ENORMOUS :D)

[personal profile] betheman 2018-01-09 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Phew... [In that case, let him somewhat collapse on his back here-lower legs sort of awkwardly held the way any quadruped can manage like that, while the upper arms are more at the side.]

Gelid demons? [He asks, raising an eyebrow as he holds his eyes closed.] I, the man Gongenzaka, know not of what demons you speak... ...it has merely been a very...Long day of having fun with snow..!

...This arm... [He holds up the robotic one.] ...Recently fitted-Zangetsu and I therefore sought to test to make certain it functioned as a replacement should...

[And with a 'wmmpf' it's back on the snow, the man giving a loud sigh.] Hauhhhhh...I, the man Gongenzaka, have not had such a snow fight since I was nearly your size...

[personal profile] crimsonfallenangel 2018-01-13 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Anghel bristles. He's never liked being reminded of his small size. Still, he eyes the arm curiously.]

You were injured?
betheman: (FOREVER)

thanks, zangetsu-

[personal profile] betheman 2018-01-14 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaah, quite significantly... ....Through enraged accident on the part of a companion, they tore free, and devoured my arm, [he admits, a little more blunt about it now that he's inebriated.] Such was the cost of standing between them, and their desired prey, [He huffs.]

Well! ...Said 'prey' survived and is now returned to their family in true form... ...but my companion felt...guilty, I suppose.

And thus, I the man Gongenzaka, have been gifted a replacement..! [It's pretty rad, outside the whole. Arm. Eating.]

[Anghel goes rigid when Gongenzaka tells his story. Clearly, he had read the man wrong if had made such a sacrifice for the sake of others. A man like that would not work under the Gelid Demons unless he was cursed, but this man shows no sign of that. None that Anghel can discern, anyway.]

[He steps closer to get a better look at the arm.]
betheman: (-WHAT'S YOUR INPUT ON IT-)

[personal profile] betheman 2018-01-18 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Gongenzaka, fortunately, doesn't catch the stiffness. But he does carefully allow Anghel to look it over. It's well crafted-clean, very new, with how the snow just sort of slides off. You could see your reflection, in most parts, and in the palm seems to be some sort of gently glowing 'port'-the Repulsor.] Careful, [He warns,] I, the man Gongenzaka, am yet getting used to how it functions...
