MOON WALKING↴ The journey to the moon only takes a blink of an eye, but it leaves the carnival far away beneath you. The second moon can be seen on the peripheral, massive compared to its usual view. At least when the holidays start out, there will be no notable wildlife on the moon, though this is something you can talk to the Ringmaster about if you think it needs a change. It sounds like this is the first time she's used it in quite a while - it probably needs some dusting off! Claim your cabins, and proceed to... well, do whatever you want! There is no rush and little obligation, besides to enjoy yourself. For real, this time. She promises there will be no vampires. Or, at least, none that don't already work for the carnival. ► CABINS: Living arrangements are character choice for this event, and there are a variety of cabins of various sizes, mostly built to house 2-6 people, though you can fit more in if you squish. They are all made of wood and of a rustic design - no fancy modern furniture, here! Each building is housed with a fireplace and the needed amenities. You can pick up materials to cook with the private kitchens if you like. Theoretically, you could spend the whole holiday sequestered away, watching the snow fall. Some of them also have outdoor hot tubs available! ► ACTIVITIES: Activities are mostly going to be character driven, though there will be some large group games like bingo and maybe a poker tournament happening at some point in one of the festival halls. Otherwise, there is a lot to offer: skiing, snowboarding, hiking, ice sculpting, snowball fights - it goes on! If you'd like to run a winter activity, just let the mods know, and we will get the word out there for you. ► FEASTING: Every day isn't a full-out feast because that would get a bit unhealthy, but there will be a number of specific feast events over the holidays where everyone is encouraged to let out their inner hedonist and stuff themselves. There will be one big feast per week, with smaller but also delicious meals offered in between. The feast dates will be B12, B18, and B24. There's also plenty of alcohol available for anyone who wants it. ► SHOPPING: As mentioned in the planning post, there is a massive market being run by the World Walker Caravan! The Ringmaster has given everyone 1250 credits to spend on items, but there is a caveat - must spend at least 500 of those credits on gifts for other people. And it better be a good one, if you only buy one! (She will ask that you do not buy her presents, however. She appreciates the sentiment, but it seems sort of silly buying her things with her own money! If you'd like to gift her, please have it be something more personal or handmade, but you are not obligated to get her anything at all.) ► TREATMENTS: The beginning of the holidays will also be about the time that the emergency Medical Team will have finalized their treatments for the Prince's poisoning. Watch out for further information on that - and make sure to get treated if you are suffering from petrification or poison induced illness! The holidays will be a lot more fun that way.

A - Snowboarding

Miko doesn’t have a whole lot of practice snowboarding, but, like so many things she doesn’t actually know how to do, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t enjoy it.

Unfortunately for everyone else, that means there will definitely be a teenager careening down the slopes at high speeds, screaming in delight even when she has to swerve around other people, possibly sending a spray of snow at them - and even when she ends up pitching face-first into a snowdrift.

B - Snowballs

Speaking of being a menace, you know what else is great about snow? Snowballs.

Even when she’s not speeding down hills and risking her own safety and that of everyone around her, there’s a significant risk of anyone in Miko’s vicinity at a given time getting no warning but a shouted “Think fast!!” before a snowball smacks into their back, or shoulder, or really wherever is convenient.

C - Sculptural Arts

Bigger is better, so clearly the key to building the best snowman around is to build the biggest snowman. Unfortunately, Miko has run into a problem at the moment consisting of the fact that there’s only so large of a base she can actually push - but she’s not giving up just because of that.

She straightens up for a moment, her ears flicking, and looks around for… really anyone she recognizes, at which point she’ll point at them enthusiastically. “Hey, you! You should help me push this thing!”

The sight of someone rolling a snowball that large sort of hits Five as somewhat familiar, but she can't pinpoint ever actually seeing someone do that. She's not sure why they would, either. Like, snowballs she gets. But that thing is clearly too big for Miko to throw... Hell, she's having a hard time just pushing it, apparently.

But she smiles when she's... Not-quite-asked for help, running toward the other girl with light steps in the snow. "Oh! Sure? But... What are you gonna do with it?" She asks this but not before she's already helping push.

Miko grins, leaning into pushing, and with their combined effort it starts to creep forward again. "Makin' a snowman! This one's gonna be the body, so it's gotta be huge."

She is apparently assuming it will go without saying that she is, specifically, trying to make an absolutely enormous snowman.

Five is, of course, letting Miko steer this thing, merely adding her additional weight and strength to help. It's got to be a sight to behold: two teenage girls moving a near boulder of a snowball.

"A snowman," she repeats, voice curious. "I've never made one. Are they usually... This big?"

"Man, you haven't? About time, then!"

Miko laughs, not meanly - more than anything, it's a sound of sheer excitement. "Nope! But that's the point - this is gonna be the biggest snowman ever."

Miko's excitement is apparently contagious. Five laughs, too. "Sounds like a fun challenge!"

She grins and pats the packed snow appreciatively. "So this is like the bottom? How do we know when we've got it big enough?"

"Right? And if we manage it we get some pretty great bragging rights." She might be overestimating the importance of making a Really Big Snowman, but she could not care less. It's fun and that's what counts.

She considers that for a moment. "Uh... probably when we can't move it anymore. Unless we wanna pull more people in to help."

For all Five knows about the carnival, maybe making a Really Big Snowman whenever there's snow is super important. Though she kind of doubts it. Still, it's apparently important to this girl, a potential new friend. Therefor it's important to Five also.

"I think there might be some difficulty in that, though... Specifically, how we get the head on afterward."

She's thinking... yeah, they may need more people to help. Though she'd like to try it with just them first. Less people to have to share those bragging rights with, right? Anyway, she's already got one idea floating around in her head: "Maybe a ramp?"

B - Snowballs

Papyrus doesn't think fast, twisting in curiosity and confusion. The snowball clips the top of his shoulder, spraying snow up at his face.

"Oh my god!" he shouts back, but the sound of his voice gives away: he's grinning. And he wipes at his face, leaning over and tapping his head to get the snow out of his eyesockets, before crouching down to get some of his own. "Have a taste of your own ice cream!"

Very likely, she's the one that gives him the idea to start flinging snow at people.

Miko lets out a burst of laughter, nearly doubling over - then looks up just in time to get smacked by Papyrus's return shot.

"--Hey! Alright, it's on!" As if that wasn't the plan from the start. She grabs another handful of snow and starts packing it together, then she's back to making snowballs the moment that one leaves her hand.

Papyrus dodges her throw, his gloved hands pressing a ball into shape. If it weren't for those gloves offering a little padding... it would take forever to pack them right! Not having body heat is a slight disadvantage here.

"You can't win, I have the height ground!" Not really, he's down the slope a little ways. But it's not the literal high ground that matters here. "I'm taller!" He flings the ball, then ducks down to make more. "And! I'm defending myself!!"

"You sure about that, 'cuz it looks to me like you're pretty far below my level!" Okay, that was not the smoothest quip she could have made, but she's pretty sure the idea got across all the same.

The defense argument, on the other hand, just gets a drawn-out raspberry before she hurls another snowball at him.

[spaghettimonster]

"The ground isn't a ranking of skill levels!!" Papyrus stomps a few times, distracted enough by indignation that he only barely dodges that snowball. "And... and even if it were, I'd still win. Have at thee!!"

Witness, and tremble in fear, at the dreaded: duel wielding snowball throw. It disarms him for the moment, but surely two snowballs are too many to dodge.

"That doesn't even make sense!"

She's one to talk. But crap, that's TWO AT ONCE - and, though she manages to dodge one, the second does hit her pretty solidly.

"--Hey, no fair!" The moment she's shaken the snow off, she starts scooping up snow. This time, though, it's far more than she had ever pulled together at once before, gradually forming into a snowball roughly the size of her head.

"Nyeh heh heh!" Papyrus laughs triumphantly, cheerfully disregarding sense and certain unspoken rules for his own victory. But he pauses collecting his own snow, staring agog at the sheer amount Miko's gathering together at once.

"Oh my god! Are you preparing... a special attack???"

9S, by contrast, is still on foot. He's dressed in his usual uniform, which leaves his legs exposed to the elements. Even more so, since the flesh melted off in patches at the sides and backs of his legs, making his metal frame visible for all to see. But the cold doesn't bother him; if anything, his systems are running smoother than ever, thanks to the low temperatures lessening the load on his cooling systems.

Still, that doesn't mean he likes getting hit by a spray of snow from someone on a snowboard!

"Watch where you're going!" he yells, right before he sees whoever it is pitch face first into a snowdrift. Alarmed, he rushes over to her... or at least, he tries to. Ugh, why is snow so hard to move through!?

Trudging his way over, he calls out, "Hey! Are you alright?" Hovering above his shoulder is his robot buddy, Pod 153.

Fortunately, it becomes clear pretty much immediately that she is, in fact, absolutely fine. Miko scrambles to right herself, and get one of her boots unclipped from the board so she can actually stand up, laughing delightedly.

"Totally alright, dude! Takes more'n--" She shakes her hair out of her eyes, then blinks when she gets a good look at him. "--Whoa."

Oh, good! She appears to be in good condition. Phew! But...

"Um..." 9S blinks back, though it's hard to tell given the fact his eyes are covered. He really isn't used to being stared at like this. A little hesitant, he asks, "Is something the matter?"

"Dude, you got metal under your skin!" As if she's assuming he might not have noticed that.

She manages to struggle to her feet and leans toward him, her ears flipping forward at the same time. "Is that a new thing or are you a robot or something or what?"

[dressedtothe]

When she leans towards him, 9S doesn't lean away.

9S huffs. "Of course I have metal under my skin. I'm an android, not a robot!" Get it right! "I'm modelled after my human creators."

"No way, seriously?" It doesn't seem that she's actually expecting an answer, and she goes right on from there.

"Humans made you? What humans? Are you from the future or something, because we definitely don't have any androids when I'm from."

Susan also would agree that snowballs are a great thing about snow, especially with so many people around that aren't just his brother. Snowball fights with someone who can, you know, cast ice and snow spells aren't so much fun.

But he's not quite expecting a snowball to be thrown out of nowhere, the warning of 'think fast' not really enough to let him do anything other than cast a Shield spell, the snowball hitting the invisible force instead of him.

Of course as soon as he sees it was just a snowball he laughs as he turns towards where he heard her voice.

"Hey, no fair!" But you know what, he's still going to lean down to make a snowball of his own.

Oh man what was that. Miko grins even brighter, and goes to grab another double-handful of snow while calling back.

"Hey, you wanna talk about not fair? What'd you do just now, make a force field?"

[wild_magic]

"Well, I wouldn't have had to do it if you hadn't surprised me, so, you were the unfair one first!" But even he knows how ridiculous that is and he's laughing after he says it.

He stands with his snowball, his tongue out as he tries his best to aim and throw it in her direction - of course with his still being sick and his super weak arms who knows if it even makes it that far, but it's fun anyway.

The snowball doesn't quite reach her, and Miko lets out a burst of laughter. "Not quite, dude!"

She hops a little closer, though, before throwing her next snowball. Not much point to a snowball fight if your opponent can't hit you at all.
