FAERIE TALES↴![]() Though the carnival will be performing for its guests in the first week, they are welcome to search the Athenaeum while they are off duty during that time. The manifestations of story characters will be out in full force during performance week, with animals, people, objects, and even locations growing out from various tales. Most are distracting at worst, and will be curious to check out the carnival. Some, however, can be as dangerous as they were in their stories of origin. You know what to do. ► IT'S TIME TO ROLEPLAY: The best way to deal with book ghosts is to follow their narrative to its logical conclusion - turn the tables, work the story so it ends in your favour! Naturalistic and narratively satisfying plotting will have the manifestations following your lead. However, push too hard and introduce too many plot holes, inconsistencies, or illogical plot twists, and they will reject your reality utterly, becoming quite aggressive in the process. You can also use your natural abilities and powers to fight them in a traditional sense, but in the Ringmaster's experience, it's best to fight reality benders by bending reality right back at them. If you aren't careful, it's possible to be dragged fully into a story's reality, and then things get really messed up. ► IT'S ALSO TIME TO READ: The carnival came here for a purpose, and that purpose is to research. Specifically, the Ringmaster is looking for information on the Queen's Miracles - the set of ancient fae artifacts that the Blue Rose is one of. The carnival needs these artifacts to defend itself, but nobody knows where they've been for thousands of years. That's what the books are for. However, nothing is stopping you from pursuing knowledge for personal reasons. The halls are open to your perusal, and only your heart can guide you to the book you truly seek. Fine by her, though. He could give some of the kids a few lessons on how to be charming, and honestly, he does look entirely too comfortable when he stretches out like that. "But if I didn't know any better, I'd think you were slackin' on the job. I wonder~ Maybe you just read yourself to sleep, huh? "
no subject
"Even a hard working man such as myself needs to take a break~" and naps are nice.
no subject
"Aha, you see right through me, don't you? You're right, you're right~ I'd say you should give some of the kids a lesson, but I wouldn't want to overwork ya~. If you're already havin' to nap after so much readin', I'm afraid I might wear you out completely.
I might have to tend to ya myself if I wear your out that much."
no subject
"I would be a poor person for my job if I could not at least read people," to which he means a conman. "Kids? Well, at least you're willing to take responsibility if you do wear me out."
no subject
At that, she'll even put her hand over her heart. That's a promise, or something equally corny.

"So touching."

"But you wouldn't call 'em that? Ah, well, I just know one of the medics there. Something up with the rest of them?"
no subject
"I don't trust our Doctor with anything other than basic, medical care. I have seen this Mister Yukio at work but have not met him personally. The other one is a kid." And then others have flaked in and out for the longest time. He hasn't bothered to learn any new names.

"That Four-eyes, he's gonna go bald from all the stressin' he does." But he doesn't trust the doctor? Shura frowns, crossing her arms. The flirtiness in her voice is gone when she speaks again, replaced with something that might be concern.
"He just a weird guy, or is there somethin' more about 'im?"
no subject
He files the information away on Yukio and leans back in the chair more to assert himself as if he owns the space he's in, "I don't feel like he is a proper doctor. There is more to him. More experimental in his ways. He seems to enjoy his syringes." And knowing Victorian medicine... he's kind of biased.
no subject
"I see~" And it's back, that light tone. "I'll keep an eye on him. If he ain't up to snuff, I'm sure he'll end up taking care of himself with time." And if not, she'd just have to hope Yukio didn't let himself get pulled into anything stupid.

Which is his official opinion. He's an observer and his post near after the Cure kind of rubbed Tyki the wrong way. It's why he's getting harassed and trolled on a weekly basis, "I can't say he isn't a good doctor because he seems to know what he's doing but I wouldn't hardly ever choose him unless I merely wanted to watch him at work."
