THE GRAND BALL↴![]() Heartstone Manor is a giant, spooky castle floating in the middle of a twilight filled void. It is the home of a Wyld Fae calling himself The Prince - and despite his name, he is a bestial creature crammed into a gentleman's clothing, completely obsessed with replicating the ideals of old timey human society, much like the 1800's. The Prince and his many servants all dress in a manner appropriate to to the 1500's - 1800's, and decorum and beauty are held sacred above all else. All the workers of the carnival are currently staying there, in the hope of enabling a successful diplomatic venture between the Ringmaster and the Prince. The Grand Ball is being thrown by the Prince to honour these guests, but his manner of doing this is going to come as a bit of a surprise.

He's looking drained and dazed, his eyes sore--but he doesn't look at Dennis with distress so much as confusion. "Hey, you're uh--" This is a little awkward anyway since last he saw Dennis, he betrayed them all.
no subject
Because nothing said friendly terms like the guy who betrayed them, carded himself and revived to fight him again was offering him a plate.
no subject
"Thanks, I'm not hungry." He crosses his arms. "What are you doing?"
no subject
"As for I am doing... I am doing something diabolical." Said Dennis, drawing out the tenseness.
"I'm drinking champagne from a soup bowl."
Sluck.
no subject
But that's not really the most important thing here, anyway. Because as awkward as things are with Dennis now, he doesn't necessarily wish any harm on the guy. At least, not the harm that an angry fairy could rain down on his head.
"You know, the Prince cares a lot about manners and you should take that seriously! He's Fae."
no subject
"But since you asked for some devious plot, I provided with a quick sleight of hand. Now, is this so hard? I am after all an entertainer at heart."
no subject
He can't just confront him about his turn of cheek here anyway, so he supposes he's playing along. "So you're having fun?"
no subject
"Oh cheer up Yuya, you're to surly for such a good time," remarked Dennis. "You might need to relax a little."
no subject
So he just sighs and rubs his eye with the palm of his hand. "Yeah, I guess. I dunno why I'm so worried..." It comes out honestly, if uncertain. He usually was the smiling entertainer, but now if feels like he's the surly audience, waiting to be impressed--or proven right. "Guess I didn't sleep well last night."
no subject
Because as far as Dennis was concerned, there wasn't anything wrong. "You seem worried about something else."
no subject
"You're here as a guest of the Prince, right?" They were the only ones in the castle these past few days, he's wondering just when the Prince met all these people... has he ever?
no subject
Considering everything, it wasn't like Dennis suspected, not right now anyhow that something was amiss.
no subject
He points at the champagne glass, steering the topic to something must more shallow. "Is that even any good?"
no subject
"It seems have a more, robust flavor. Something you'd find in upscale years and aged well."
no subject
"That... sounds really fancy?" This is, after all, a very fancy party. "Sweet is probably better than sour, right?"
no subject
"In all, it's up to you to decide on that," added Dennis with a grand gesture. "I'm sure our host would understand."
no subject
Despite his initial reservations, it's probably been the most entertaining thing to do at the ball--really, it's the only physical activity the ball has so there isn't actually a lot of choice there.
no subject
"I've already eaten."

He turns to go, but stops and looks over his shoulder one last time. "I mean it, Dennis. Be careful here."
It's said with a gravity that usually doesn't accompany Yuya, and despite what Dennis has done, he does look worried. And then he turns back to find his way onto the dance floor.
