THE GRAND BALL↴![]() Heartstone Manor is a giant, spooky castle floating in the middle of a twilight filled void. It is the home of a Wyld Fae calling himself The Prince - and despite his name, he is a bestial creature crammed into a gentleman's clothing, completely obsessed with replicating the ideals of old timey human society, much like the 1800's. The Prince and his many servants all dress in a manner appropriate to to the 1500's - 1800's, and decorum and beauty are held sacred above all else. All the workers of the carnival are currently staying there, in the hope of enabling a successful diplomatic venture between the Ringmaster and the Prince. The Grand Ball is being thrown by the Prince to honour these guests, but his manner of doing this is going to come as a bit of a surprise.

Dennis is not a guest through the Carnival, however. Dennis is a guest of the Prince, and as such-she gives a slight, polite cursty of acknowledgement.] ....I'm working, [she tells him plainly-but her voice is a chilling monotone, more stiff and stone-like even than the first time they met.] ...It's not a past-time.
I have to collect the dishes-this one was still full though, [She adds, trying not to think too much upon the conversation she had with that fellow. She had intended to bring it to the table, honestly-but Dennis taking it worked rather well.
Ahh, but back to the point. She continues speaking, robotically,
her eyes wide and unreadable.] ....So you're free to drink it. I need the glass when it's empty though-but you can take your time, [she finds herself adding, thoughts clashing against each other.] ....I'll find it when it's ready.

How interesting. I'll be sure to enjoy the drink. Though I'd like to visit a bit more, call it a past time. Can I ask what the Prince is like?
no subject
Yet she doesn't think she's meant to make That kind of image of the Prince. At all. And why was she scared again? (She just was, her thoughts insist, SHE JUST WAS-)
Reira stares for a few moments, tense-there's barely any negativity in the air, certainly little to no pain, and yet it feels as if she might as well be experiencing it right now. Instead-] ....The Prince doesn't take unexpected visitors.
If he invites you, you come, [she insists, blank.] ....He makes the rules. Everyone follows them, and everything happens properly. [There, that sounds better. Except not really? Her thoughts strain, but the fact remains that it's the truth right? Follow the rules, you don't get hurt. Follow the rules, nothing bad happens. It's fine.]
no subject
[Because getting information even with his "it's fine" stance, Dennis was a curious person.]
no subject
...Yes. The Prince, while Wyld Fae, is as organized as the greatest of Court Fae, [she 'decides', thinking aloud as she tries to make sense of it.
Wild....is not something that blends with rules...]
no subject
[Because there's a lot of holes in this logic Dennis himself is trying to fill.]
no subject
....We're not supposed to talk very long with guests. I have to keep working. ['Or Else, is the unspoken addition, and her monotone somehow still carries an edge of fear that says it us a warning for her.]
no subject
no subject
Including Yuuya, and others that they know. Once she fills her basket she'll be off to empty the load, but she comes back for more dirty dishes-an opportunity for more conversation, if he has an empty glass.]
no subject
There a difference between guests?
no subject
We have our orders.
no subject
[Too bad the power kept him from openly snapping Reira out of that. Something was wrong.]
I see.
no subject
I just don't work for her now. The Prince is... [Scarier.]
...He's stronger.
no subject
[Because even Dennis was under his thrall.]
no subject
And he has more of it.
[Now. She has his dishes, so...]
...Is that all, Sir?
no subject
[Because Dennis had to relax and enjoy the event.]
