THE GRAND BALL↴![]() Heartstone Manor is a giant, spooky castle floating in the middle of a twilight filled void. It is the home of a Wyld Fae calling himself The Prince - and despite his name, he is a bestial creature crammed into a gentleman's clothing, completely obsessed with replicating the ideals of old timey human society, much like the 1800's. The Prince and his many servants all dress in a manner appropriate to to the 1500's - 1800's, and decorum and beauty are held sacred above all else. All the workers of the carnival are currently staying there, in the hope of enabling a successful diplomatic venture between the Ringmaster and the Prince. The Grand Ball is being thrown by the Prince to honour these guests, but his manner of doing this is going to come as a bit of a surprise.

He scrambles back into the ballroom and toward the broken doors to the now missing balcony, pushing brainwashed guests out of his way. He looks down and spots -- oh. Well, that sure is a thing going on down there. Their spiritual pressures are different, but that's definitely Lambert and Sans. And someone else he doesn't recognize right away. Well, awesome. Everyone gets to have fun except me, apparently. It's a good thing his mask is hiding his petulant, pissy expression.
But there's another spiritual pressure that's a little more pressing. Gongenzaka is here, somewhere. Despite everything, he kind of likes the guy. And still has a strange, guilty feeling when he thinks about him.
"GON! Where the hell are you?"
no subject
"We've broken the Prince's rules," he hisses, swallowing back a grimace of pain. "Sans is under his control..! So we assisted Lambert in fighting him.... ...Take them up," he adds, choking on his words. "They need to hide..! And I, the man Gongenzaka, cannot do so up there! The Prince, most assuredly, will be on his way by now!"
no subject
"You can't hang here forever," he mutters, but it's also true that Gongenzaka is big, furry, and will be spotted and probably detained in an instant. And there's no option to go down, so Yuya reluctantly releases one hand on the ledge to hold it out for Zangetsu. Assistance up would be a lot faster.
Just don't eat it.

... Though based from what he's heard, Yugo is definitely still almost as suspicious of the guy as Yuya seem. So as the taur still tries to shove the two of them upward, Yugo's continuing with his honest attempt in getting up over the edge without help from above.

Breaking the rules.
What a pain.
"I swear to God, Gongenzaka, if you let that jerk catch you...." He turns his face toward Yuya and Yugo, though the mask obscures his face completely. Not even his eyes are visible through the holes, which seem to instead lead to some alternate dimension consisting only of a white void. It makes him even creepier.
He first grabs Yuya firmly with one hand and pulls him back onto the stable remnants of the balcony, since he was kind enough to extend a hand. It's a good yank, one that might pull an arm out of socket, but soon enough the boy is back on terra firma. He can't quite reach Yugo, so he walks out of the balcony, apparently standing on thin air, and grabs him up too. He then unceremoniously shoves him into the ballroom along with Yuya.
"Go."

He's been taking his sweet time, approaching the scene of the disaster. While this would have been something that enraged him had it not been of his own design, knowing it is a result of his schemes makes it incredibly satisfying. Seeing the Ringmaster's pawns turned against her is pure wonder, and he can only hope that she will appreciate it as much as he is.
It's as Zangetsu is pulling up Yugo that he arrives, his eyes on the fight in the courtyard and his arms tucked behind his back. It's almost as if he doesn't notice those congregated at the ledge at first... until he finally speaks to them, without ever shifting his gaze.
"You've attacked one of my guards," he says, presumably to Yugo, though Gongenzaka will feel as if eyes are on him as well.
no subject
He can do this, but his blood runs cold; Yuuya did nothing. He wonders if that will be apparent. Yuugo...Yuugo has stone all over his arm however, and it may not go well. He doubts they'll be killed, if they are caught.
But whatever will happen cannot be good, and so he stays quiet, eyes shut both in determination and pain alike.

His attention snaps up to the Prince as he moves to his feet, and he's quickly up straight and standing in front of where Gongenzaka is hanging. Oh no, it's the Prince.
He looks between him and Yugo, wide eyed. His voice is lost on him for a moment because, well, it's not untrue. He can't just deny it.
"... I--Your Majesty, sir. Um, we..." Aw, shit.

"I believe the instigator of this little altercation is down below, having a pay-per-view worthy monster showdown with your security. These idiots were just in the way."
no subject
"This was clear interference with his duties, to which this household takes great offense."
no subject
But then his heart skips a beat in panic when Yugo is grabbed. No, no, he can't let them get taken too. He can't let the same thing just happen to them too.
"Wait!" Yuya reaches for Yugo's other am immediately, squeezing too tightly as he looks up at the Prince. "Wait, please. Don't take them. Can we talk first, sir?"
He sputters over the formalities, barely remembering what is it isn't too rude--and caring even less. "Please, I want to talk first, so please don't hurt them."
no subject
"... Yeah it one of those 'wrong place at the wrong time' kind of situations, you know?"
Also Yuya, please don't break Yugo's good arm in trying to keep him from getting taken away.
no subject
But he doesn't go too far as he takes a drink from a passing waiter, keeping his senses trained on Gongenzaka's spiritual pressure.
no subject
"Take the ones who have been marked by our new acquisition. Including the beast hanging from the remains of the balcony."
Perhaps Gongenzaka isn't hiding as well as he thought.
no subject
Or one, over all. Gongenzaka stiffens despite himself, and he can feel his blood run cold. He finds himself using that spell of his, as an after thought-will he find that same poison, he wonders, tainting Yuugo? Tainting him? Or does the Prince simply see, somehow, through the eyes of the manor, living and breathing all that goes on within it. It would perhaps explain, he thinks, how so many of them had been taken as it were. How Sans, who could teleport, was taken...
He can do little more than grind his teeth. Moving downward is not an option. He is too far up, and too weak to even move his vines. The poison has been spreading, after all, infecting his natural system of vines and roots. Spreading up and through his side, into the vines of his mane, his tail...
It is difficult to breathe, he thinks, holding the image of his own soul in his mind just for a moment.
But when the moment passes, he is quiet. Let them come, then. If Yuuya can go free for now, then they have done at least that much more than expected now.
no subject
He knows he's just been ignored, ans his mind is racing for the first solution he can find to fix this. It's too clear in his mind, what happened to Reira, what might happen to them. Would he finds them dressed like servants with that same expression of fear in their eyes? Would they be trapped? He can't let that happen. He can't.
Still holding onto Yugo's arm, Yuya shuffles closet to the edge as of he can block those suits of armor from reaching Gongenzaka. But his gaze holds onto the Prince.
"Stop! If you won't let me talk, then--then let me earn their freedom!"
What else can he do?
no subject
"DON'T YOU DARE!!!!"
They all heard loud and clear who's getting arrested and who seems to be going free. And he'll be damned if he lets what's practically family attempt bargaining with the fuzzy asshole.
no subject
"DO NOT!" he calls, what fur remains unpetrified standing on end. "YUUYA...! This is no debatable matter! And at the very least, if one of us may go free, they MUST!" Gongenzaka roars, unwilling and unable to say outright what he means.
One, at the least, must tell someone else what is happening. Fill them in on the details that fall beyond the realm of 'a fight began'. If neither of them can do so, then at least HE can..!
(But more than that, even if they had spoken of this just before, even if they had agreed to allow it... ...He cannot let Yuuya take this fall for him)
"I, the man Gongenzaka, shall greet my punishment fairly...no matter how our host sees fit to deliver it," he adds, a bitter edge to his tone. He has no illusions that this will go well. And no amount of 'fairness' will be able to apply, he is certain.
